How to Obtain the Rogue-Exclusive Shadowflame Sword in Season of Discovery

Now that
Molten Core
is available in Season of Discovery, Rogues have been happy to finally uncover the secret to their exclusive weapon, the
Shadowflame Sword
!
Not only does
Shadowflame Sword
have a great effect and some excellent stats, but it looks pretty cool too! When you activate
Blade Flurry
you are 'engulfed in Shadowflame' giving your character a great visual effect, as seen in this video below from
SimonizeShow
.
Rogues can aquire this sword by combining
Implacable Blackguard
and
Shadowflame Skull
.
The
Shadowflame Skull
has so far been confirmed to drop from
Majordomo Executus
in
Molten Core
and has a small clue in the text, pointing you toward your next step.
To obtain
Implacable Blackguard
, you must first either reach Exalted with the Thorium Brotherhood and craft
Blackguard
with Blacksmithing or purchase
Blackguard
from a Master Swordsmith.
The materials required to craft
Blackguard
are:
Lava Core
(6)
Fiery Core
(6)
Arcanite Bar
(10)
Dark Iron Bar
(6)
Guardian Stone
(12)
This sword can only be crafted at the Forge of
Lord Incendius
in
Blackrock Depths
.
Once you have
Blackguard
you then must reach Honored with the Thorium Brotherhood and exchange this, along with 25
Firelands Ember
and 2
Lava Core
for
Implacable Blackguard
.
You can reach Honored with the
Thorium Brotherhood
while collecting
Firelands Ember
by completing the Blackrock Eruption Event Dailies.
Once you have earned the
Implacable Blackguard
, and looted the
Shadowflame Skull
from Molten Core, you simply need to combine them by right-clicking on
Shadowflame Skull
in order to create your new
Shadowflame Sword
!

I personally think that making Implacable Blackguard a precondition for this item is absurd.
Literally not a reachable item to craft in months for most andy rogues in an average guild. Why? It does require MC mats that are under ultra demand to craft fire res gear.
Priests and hunter is all about doing and combining PvE content. Why making rogues weapon require rep+3k gold+honored with the brotherhood?
This item brings nothing in PvE content right now, and no officer would allow you to get the mats for it. Also, buying it from AH is like 2-3k cost in gold.
If this was JUST a dagger it would be a completely other story.
TLDR: sword+expensive+unattainable mats = might be good for P5.
Ah, the ultra rare MC mats that can be bought for dungeon coins. Those unattainable mats?
And even still, cores are going for like 40g on the AH, it is not prohibitively expensive for a BiS weapon.
I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
It would be a total of 210 coins + 10 arcanite bars + 6 dark iron bar + 12 guardian stones + finding a weaposmither paying the fee who also needs to be exalted with thorium brotherhood + yourself on honored. Now compare it to the priest or hunter requirements. Do you see the balance anywhere close? Again, I guess different ways of thinking.
BiS weapon? for who? in which scenario other than backstab / dungeon grind? I would love to stand corrected and finding out there is an actual raid use for this weapon. Been simming it and it does not deliver the amount of gold spent on it.
I mean, the hunter questline is very involved and some of the demon challenges take actual knowledge of your class to be able to do, also the fact that if ANYONE in the game world interferes, it will despawn and you have to find the demon again to even try another attempt.
If you have gold you can make the rogue weapon in less than 20 mins ;)
