Welcome to Wowhead's DPS Rogue Class Guide, updated for WoW Classic! This guide will help you to improve as a DPS Rogue in all aspects of the game, improving your knowledge to face the hardest Dungeons and Raids from WoW Classic.

This Best-in-Slot Gear guide will list the recommended gear for Rogues to acquire while they progress on the first few raids in Classic WoW, containing gear sourced from dungeons, professions, BoE World Drops, reputations and the instances themselves.
Rogue Tier 1 -

Nightslayer is your first Raid set, Tier 1. The entire set is acquired in Molten Core, which is likely most people's first Raid.
You will want to obtain at least the 5-piece bonus for this set. While not giving a significant boost to your DPS, it is quite nice to have when dealing with the opposing faction in a World PvP situation. As for the 3-piece set bonus, it can actually make a difference, allowing you to wipe Threat more often with

, as well as allowing Dagger Rogues to sneak an additional

into their rotation. The final 8-piece set bonus is pretty decent for PvP rogues; with

Best Rogue Weapons
Classic Rogues are extremely dependent on their weapons for dealing damage. As you look for weapon upgrades on your Rogue, you will be interested in the raw DPS of the weapon as well as favoring weapon types that suit any specializations, such as Swords for

For early Classic end-game content, Rogues will choose between Combat Swords (19/32) or Combat Daggers (15/31/5), depending on what are the best weapons available. It is extremely important to keep

active to increase the number of your Auto Attacks (white damage) as you regenerate Energy for your combo-point spenders and finishers.
For Rogue PvP, abilities such as
刺骨
are not dependent on weapon damage, but attacks such as
背刺
or
出血
do, and they deal greater damage with slower Main-Hand weapons.
Ranged weapons, however, are usually just stat sticks for Rogues, being preferred over normal thrown weapons, as they grant the Rogue additional stats.

I think you have the wrong gears listed under the PvP gear. The ones linked are lv58.
Isn't the 2 piece set bonus supposed to be - 2 pieces: +40 Attack Power?

Be good to have a bit of a reference to Shadowcraft v non-Shadowcraft; the build with the 6-piece is very close to, if not better than, the non-Shadowcraft lists. All depends on fight length.
