How to Gear Your Holy Paladin for Classic WoW PvP
When going from PVE to PVP there are some key differences in the gear you are looking for, most importantly that defensive stats are now suddenly much more important. Gearing as a Holy Paladin for PvP mainly comes down to three things: Armor, Stamina, and Intellect. Out of these stats, the main takeaway is going to be to always wear plate armor, as opposed to in PvE where you might frequently wear cloth or leather armor if it had more +healing on it. A high health pool is critical to not get bursted down in PvP, making Stamina one of the most important stats to look for on gear. You still will need to be able to heal though, making Intellect, +healing, and other PvE stats still important for PvP, just not quite as much as in PvE.
Classic PvP Honor Set for Holy Paladins
At ranks 7, 8, and 10 you will receive 2 pieces of the rare PVP armor set

. While this set is a great starter set if you can earn the PvP rank, it is not actually the best set that you will get. The PvP set here provides Strength as one of the stats, which is wasted on Holy Paladins. There are better options, but overall the set is not bad when compared to other rare pieces, especially since it is a full plate set with lots of Stamina and Intellect.
At ranks 12 and 13 you will receive 3 pieces of the epic PVP armor set

. This set is essentially a stronger version of the rare PvP set, and is again not a bad set to use, but also not the best set available. Too much of the stat budget on each piece goes to Strength, making it worse than it could be for Holy Paladins. This is by no means a bad set, but is not "BiS" for PvP, which if you are rank 12 or 13 you should be already getting BiS PvP gear.\
Instead of the PvP sets, the raid tier sets are actually perfectly itemized for Holy Paladin PvP. They are full plate sets that provide exceptional amounts of Stamina, Intellect, and +healing. If you have a set of PvE gear, try to get plate alternatives whenever possible, and it will serve you well in PvP.
Best Armor for Classic PVP Holy Paladins
The biggest change you're going to want to make when gearing for PVP as opposed to PVE is going to be placing a higher value on armor, luckily Paladins have access to the single best tier 3 set to wear as a PVP set. The Redemption set is full plate, high healing, high stam, hight int, and honestly I would just wear 9/8 Redemption in PVP.

These are a couple of trinkets that you can use for general purposes, they are very similar to what you would use in a standard PVE situation.
These trinkets are the best trinkets to wear in terms of raw stats, you'll want to use these trinkets while your "utility trinkets" and "engineering trinkets" are on cooldown.

Utility Trinkets
These are trinkets you would swap on for certain situations where the utility that the trinket provides gives you an advantage in PVP.
These trinkets should be rotated on and off based on the situation you are in and whether or not the trinket is on cooldown. Your class insignia is a pretty safe trinket to equip in any situation and with a short cooldown of 5 minutes, you'll be able to use it often. Other trinkets are on a more specific-use basis: for instance, Ramstein's Lightning Bolts are good for dealing AoE damage to a large number of enemies while Nifty Stopwatch can increase your speed in a situation where you are unable to mount.

Engineering Trinkets
Similar to the "utility trinkets" above you will want to use these trinkets depending on the situation you are in and whether or not they are off cooldown. For instance, the Gnomish Net-o-Matic Projector is excellent for rooting mounted players to reduce their speed to 0, while the Ultra-Flash Shadow Reflector would be best suited for situations where you are fighting against Warlocks and Shadow Priests.

Malistar's Defender is not something hard to get. The droprate is 20% and you only compete with other holy paladins in your guild.
We have 3 out of 4 paladins in my guild with Malistar's Defender already.

I'm thinking about buying the immovable object, and use it instead of malistar's defender. I dont really care about the less intellect, mostly thinking about the 400 less armor. what do you guys think?
