I Think my most epic loot has been the Claw Of the phoenix from Al'ar it was the fist time we did tempest Keep the Eye we read up on how to beat Al'ar we downed him we where all cheering for a minute but then he came back in second phase we wiped real bad but then at the second try we killed him with no flaws and no stings attached
Definitely when I finally got my Quel'Serrar on my warrior. I was the envy of a lot of tanks before Thunderfury came out =P
The first epic I ever picked up - and let me tell you, I was sad to shard it when I hit Outland :( - was the Stockade Pauldrons. It wasn't a drop, but it was a steal; someone had placed them on the AH for around 20g (undercutting the typical price on my server by about, oh, 150g) - and so even though I couldn't wear them immediately I snagged them. I did actually wear them until around level 60, when I finally got tired of people saying, "Why are you still wearing those when that green quest drop is so much better stats-wise?"
Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros. That thing took me so long to finally make. And of course all that hard work is now rendered useless. But I still have it sitting in my bank, just collecting dust.
My most epic loot would probably be when I got the Shadowcraft tunic for my rogue. I starting farming for the set at 45 and had everything but the chest by 52. Between running UBRS over and over and actually leveling, I didn't get to receive it until I was level 65. The total number of runs was lost after I hit 58, but to see it finally drop was worth it. I remember just staring at the screen in disbelief and while the gear was not an upgrade my dream of completing Shadowcraft finally came true.
Well the most epic drop for me was http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33492 when i got it twice with my paladin.... once with my druid AND NEVER with my Hunter.... so in conclusion when i need it never drops, when i dont need it it drops LOL ! unlucky !
Has to be Nightblade. For it's level, it was legendary not only to the players who it dropped for but the twinks patiently waiting at the AH for it to appear, it was one of the few purples to exist at the time, it was Epic!...and where did it drop? Off some trash trolls in Zul'Farrack. But there it was! It appeared in a pop-up box!NightbladeTwo-Handed EPIC QUALITY Sword43.4 damage per secondChance on hit to cause damageI had people going "OMG SCREENSHOT" in the group at the time but me being the noob I was back then, didn't care so much and just needed like most other people in the group did. And I won.Shame I was the healer.
Probably my Winterspring Frost Saber. Took me 4 weeks of 10hour grinding days. Even eating at the keyboard just to finish it. Once I got it, the patch came out and it got nerfed.... Never the less, those 5 days with that mount were Epic.
My most epic loot came this past October, on a Headless Horseman run. We have five guildmates. Normally for bind on pickup items guild policy says we all pass and do the need/greed rolls manually. But in this particular case, the Headless Horseman dropped his reins. Since we all wanted the mount, we decided to all roll for Greed. The first guy got a 97, and I immediately figured there was no way anyone would beat that roll. Lo and behold, I rolled a 99. My very first (and so far, only) flying mount!
