To Unlock the Fishing Hole Nets you need Iskaara Tuskarr Renown lvl 4 and complete a daily near the respective Fishing Hole Net.

River Mouth Fishing Hole Net needs complete the daily Otter Devastation.

If you're like me and are looking for a quest item to use on the glowing fish, you just have to run into (swim ?) the fish to scare them off. You can be mounted on your dragon, you won't dismount in water, makes it much faster than swimming around to the damned ottuks

It doesn't seem like you have an obvious better way other than just swimming over the otters to "scare them off"

Don't forget your Sea Turtle if you have one. Makes this so much faster.

You can also use Anglers Fishing Raft to make this faster. Just have to move your camera down a bit (e.g. right click and tilt down) to get under the water and scare the Ottuk, then just jump back up and your raft will reappear. Remember that you can jump and make the raft go faster.

A small observation I've noticed when doing this quest, but you get a rocket pack on your back that's purely visual and shaped like a shark fin. The pack remains on your back until you log out, enter a dungeon, enter a battleground or arena, or just simply die. Unlike similar visual effects, this will NOT hide your cape if you have one visible. Since this is a daily quest, and it's always available as long as the anglers of your server aren't incredibly stupid to the point of killing the fishing area, you can repeatedly get this rocket fin visual for your outdoors enjoyment if you accept and abandon the quest over and over.

Probably interesting to a limited amount of people, but still. I think it's neat.

I have my Underlight Angler permanently equipped as fishing gear. In order to use the walk on water and switch to fish form when underwater effects, however, I have to unequip then reequip. A bug that needs addressing. Agree this is the fastest way to do this quest.

The quest is no longer appearing for me. Anyone know why? EDIT: It seems you can only unblock one net each day, so you have to choose which fishing hole you want to unblocked the net at.

I have my Underlight Angler equipped as fishing gear with Underlight Blessing; what I do is land, cast a line, cancel it, go underwater so I turn into a fish, then swim around into the otties to scare them :) best way imo

Important notice

This quest is bugged. After completing it I was stuck in a limbo where I was "in combat" but was able to mount. Tried doing a pet battle quest and I didn't let me, saying I "can't pet battle while in combat". I was also stuck with the rocket-fin-thingy stuck to my back, and NOTHING got rid of it until I got into a LFG group and got out of the instance.

Tip: You can stay on your drake with waterwalking because most otter are close to the surface, dont need to go dip and unmount.

If any of your characters has Renown 4 with Iskarra Tuskarr you can visit Tavio in Azure Span with your other alts (regardless of renown standing) to get the quest "Iskaaran Fishing Net" that will allow you to access this daily. When you've gathered the required materials Tavio won't display the usual yellow "?" but you'll want to click on the 'I'd like to obtain or improve Iskaaren Fishing Gear' option he displays instead. You can then complete the quest with Tavio. This will also grant access to a second fishing net near Brix Rocketcast upon completion of the daily.

Would be nice if they'd put a buff/debuff on the already spooked Ottuks, so you don't try chasing them down only to have them vanish right before you get to them.

I'm surprised that nobody mentionned this yet, but if you die or disconnect for whatever reason while in this quest and therefore lose the shark fin device, you can't recover it nor scare the ottuks anymore. I had to abandon then retake the quest again in order to be able to complete it.

Not that of a big deal, but still pretty annoying, especially in Warmode.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but you don't actually need to swim to complete this quest. Most of the otters are close enough to the surface that if you have the Anglers water walking mount equipment you can run along above them and it will be close enough to scare them. The Anglers fishing raft is also great for this.

Anyone know about this?

I've never had a problem turning in "Otter Devastation" until today.

I picked up the quest, scared the ottuks, then when I went to turn it in I got this message:

"Turn in for "Otter Devastation" failed. This quest's unique reward already exists in your inventory. Remove it to complete this quest."

I have no idea what that 'unique reward' is exactly.

I went to the Blocked Net and cannot interact with it, telling me I need to complete a daily quest.

Any suggestions?

I made this here Ottuk Deterent Device MK-SH4RK, but... I aint a great swimmer. You seem like you got the goods, why don't ya do us all a favor, activate the device, swimmy-swim around over there, and scare 'em off?
