His team consists of Deathy, Murkimus the Gladiator and Murkalot

My team to beat him, since he has Humanoid family pets, was all Undead family:

I winged it, and just used the various abilities I slotted against him, Curse of Doom, Siphon Life and Absorb on the Lost of Lordaeron.Bone Bite was the champ for my Giant Bone Spider and the stalwart Blighthawk used his fierce Infected Claw all to great effect.

Tarr offers some Blizzcon pets against you and while they have some annoying abilities, countering them it's rather easy with smallish chance of RNG messing things up even if you have lowbie pet in your team for leveling purposes or if you are going for An Awfully Big Adventure. For the achievement you don't actually have to use the Elekk Plushie, it can just hang around in team without ever participating the battle, but not in this case.

I found the following Undead pets effective against him (though Shadeling alone can almost handle all of the opponents):

Restless Shadeling (#9 H/S is needed to outspeed Tarr's pets) with

and Giant Bone Spider (or pretty much any Undead pet will do) with

Lowbie requirements: 620 HP (930 if the pet is a Dragonkin)

The course of the battle:

Start with Elekk Plushie or your lowbie to soak the Falling Murloc from Gladiator Murkalot (needs at least 620 HP from your lowbie pet to soak it, hope it doesn't crit!).
Swap to Restless Shadeling while Tarr swaps in Gladiator Deathy and then cast Death and Decay.
Cast Shadow Shock before Deathy stuns you and pass your next round.
Use Phase Shift to avoid Deep Breath (!).
Drop one or two Shadow Shocks to finish off Deathy.
When Tarr brings Murkalot to field, cast Shadow Shock again.
Your DnD removes the block from Shieldstorm so use Shadow Shock once more. Shortly after Murkalot craters on you - again.
What you do next turn is indifferent because Gladiator Murkimus still has block left from Shieldstorm. Just don't use Phase Shift. :)
Next part is crucial to the outcome of the battle. Refresh your Death and Decay and pray Jebus that Murkimus' Counterstrike doesn't crit. If it does, winning will become a bit harder.
Cast Shadow Shock and then Phase Shift to avoid Heroic Leap from Murkimus.
After the next two Shadow Shocks your Restless Shadeling will unavoidably die, but you should still be able to finish off Murkimus during your Undead racial.
Whether Murkimus is still alive or not, Bone Spider can easily deal whatever is still standing. If Murkimus is still alive and you want to play it safe, use Death Grip.

What I found worked good for me;

Unborn Val'kyr 2,2,2 - Make sure you hit him with unholy Ascension Before you die.
Fetish Shaman 1,2,2
Fungal Abomination 1,1,1 (didn't even need to pull him out)

darkmoon zepp, alpine fox, and bucktooth flapper :)

This is a 2 man team i just worked out, barring any bad RNG on taking crits, this should be100% effective.

Crawling Claw
Agony - Ancient Blessing - Rot
Arctic Hare (or any rabbit pet that is fast than all 3 of them)
Flurry - Dodge
Carry pet (can be level 1)

Murkalot

Agony - to burn him in the back row a bit.
Rot - to turn Deathy into an undead straight away.

Deathy

switch to Hare

Flurry - until dead
dodge - murkalot will pop up shield here.
flurry - to remove his shield, dodge will also keep him from switching out.

Switch to Claw

Rot - will finish him off.

Murkimus

Ancient Blessing - to give clw an extra round to use.

Switch to Hare

Dodge - to avoid heroic leap straight away.
Flurry - to remove shield

switch to claw

If you are lucky and he misses you on this round, cast agony. otherwise
you should have died and will need to go with rot.

Rot - this should be your resurrect move.

switch to levelling pet. can be level 1.

switch immediately to hare.

flurry - he then jumps up
Dodge - to avoid heroic leap landing.
flurry - until dead.

Oddly i only got 2393 pet exp from this fight even with the safari hat on.

Easiest two man combo I've found is a Creepy Crate 1-2-2 and Fossilized Hatchling 2-1-2. Open with the Crate and bonestorm, curse, bite until bonestorm is up again. Keep attacking until the crate dies. Hatchling can bonestorm, heal, bite until bonestorm again. Even without any crits I had no problem killing all three before the hatchling died.

All 6 Draenor Master Tamers can be beaten with only a Sprite Darter Hatchling, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling and a carry pet.

If you follow the order listed, you can carry a single pet from lvl 1 to lvl 25 every day through the Master Tamers and all it takes are those same 2 pets for every fight.

I used the following pets:

Fungal Abomination 1-1-2
Jumping Spider 2-2-1
Jumping Spider 2-2-1

Fungal Abomination killed two of them before my first Jumping Spider came out.

If you don't have 3 undead pets (like I don't), then I found that using Jungle Grub was a good substitute. Some of the bigger attacks are weak against it and it has an undead spell that works well against all the pets.

This guy can easily be 2-pet comboed with 2 level 25 grubs so you can level a third pet. Use a combo of Leap and Consume with the grubs. Humanoids have weak anti-Beast attacks and Consume is bonus attack to humans, and heals the grub.

My team was Mr. Grubbs, Jungle Grub and a Tiny Sporebat, but the 2 grubs so soundly destroyed his team of 3 humanoids that I could easily have swapped a third pet in to level it. Just watch the big attacks and time the swap when they're not up.

Basically any undead pets that have Absorb or Consume should work very well (click abilities for list of pets).

Supremely easy 2 pet with Unborn Val'kyr(2,2,2) and Rapana Whelk(2,1,1):

Start with your Unborn Val'kyr
Curse of Doom
Spam Shadow Shock
Curse of Doom as long as the enemy doesn't have blocks or shields up
Spam Shadow Shock till death turn, then use Unholy Ascension (again ensuring no shields, but not vital, as you will kill all 3 with or without ascension, just makes it a bit quicker with)
Bring out levelling pet
Immediately switch to Rapana Whelk
Dive when he flies up
Acidic Goo
Absorb and Dive till its dead
You might need to land the last hit with your levelling pet, but it should be nothing at all, only if you get very unlucky too

Easy. Used Unborn Val 'kyr, Scourged Whelpling, and Lil 'K.T.
Cast Curse of Doom, then Haunt. After that (with next pet), just keep your opponent dotted up with Death and Decay and Plagued Blood and fill in with Shadowflame (or whatever) until they are dead. Sloppy write-up I know, but it worked.

Here's a guide to using two easy-to-obtain pets to defeat this team. Using this method, you can carry low-level pets and power level them. The beauty of these pets are that you don't have to go hunting for a particular breed for this to work!

You will need a level 25 Macabre Marionette and a level 25 Fossilized Hatchling. The third pet can be level 1 - it takes no damage! I have tested this with my Macabre Marionette upgraded to a rare with Marked Flawless Battle-Stone (now available for 15 Pet Charm from Serr'ah (H)/ Lio the Lioness (A) in your Menagerie Level 1). As such, I would recommend you do the same.

Here is the setup you want to run:
Slot 1 - Macabre Marionette : Bone Bite | Siphon Life | Dead Man's Party
Slot 2 - Fossilized Hatchling : Bone Bite | Ancient Blessing | BONESTORM
Slot 3 -

Enemy Team Summary
Gladiator Murkalot : Punish | Falling Murloc | Shieldstorm
Gladiator Deathy : Deep Breath | Clobber | Scorched Earth
Gladiator Murkimus : Punch | Counterstrike | Heroic Leap

Strategy
The combo of Macabre Marionette and Fossilized Hatchling really shines in this fight, with plenty of undead damage along with healing to make things go smoothly.

Gladiator Murkalot - Part 1
Murkalot always starts by using Falling Murloc. You in turn want your Macabre Marionette to use Siphon Life. Murkalot will then switch out for Gladiator Deathy.

Gladiator Deathy
On turn 2, use Siphon Life again. You will be essentially leeching off of two enemies for a few turns. Next, on turn 3, use Dead Man's Party - Deathy will use Scorched Earth that turn. On turn 4, Deathy will interrupt your Dead Man's Party with Clobber. You'll be stunned, so just pass for turn 5. Re-apply Siphon Life to Deathy after that, then use Dead Man's Party again.

After 1-2 rounds of Dead Man's Party, Deathy should die, at which point Gladiator Murkalot comes out. If for any reason Deathy dies early, simply advance to instructions for Murkalot below.

Gladiator Murkalot - Part 2
When Murkalot comes out (again), you will usually still have 1-2 rounds of Dead Man's Party left, which will take care of the Shieldstorm when Murkalot uses it first turn. If you are not already in the process of Dead Man's Party (i.e. Deathy died early), use it now.

At this point, Murkalot then uses Falling Murloc, which will probably kill your Marionette. When your pet resurrects (the Undead pet ability), use Dead Man's Party again if you are not already in the process of doing it. This will eliminate the Shieldstorm shield on Gladiator Murkimus, who will be switched in at this point.

Gladiator Murkimus
Now that your Marionette is dead, select your low level pet to switch to. Without using any abilities, immediately switch to your Fossilized Hatchling. The first ability you will use with this pet is BONESTORM. Next, Murkimus will fly into the air for the first part of Heroic Leap. This is the point where you heal up with Ancient Blessing.

The rest of the fight simply involves using Bone Bite over and over, and BONESTORM when it is off cooldown, till you kill both remaining pets. Your fossilized hatchling may die, but the undead ability ensures that it is around for one extra round to wipe up the enemy team.

My way of 2-manning:

- Darkmoon Zeppelin or any pet that has Decoy
- Ruby Droplet 2,2,2
- Carry pet

Simply start with Decoy, swap to carry pet, then to Ruby Droplet, and use all abilities when off CD. I didn't even time the bubble. Ruby Droplet is just that OP.

This is a very reliable 2 pet strategy (bring your plushie!)

This is a down and dirty 2 pet strategy that works extremely well. I didn't put turns in because you get your queues off of the cooldowns and your undead's death.

unborn val'kyr (2-2-2)
Fossilized Hatchling (2-2-2)
plushie

Start with the unborn val'kyr
Curse of Doom (use whenever off of cooldown)
Shadow Shock is your normal attack
Unholy Ascension when about to die or you've already died once.

Open with Bone Storm and use when off of cooldown
Death and Decay
Bone Bite is your normal attack

i havent tried it, but you could probably kill the last mob with 3 bone bites from the fossilized hatchling. if someone tries it, please report on it's success.

Another 2 pet Undead strat:
Weebomination: Cleave, Consume Corpse, (3rd ability not used)
Fossilized Hatchling: Bone Bite, Dragon Roar, Bonestorm
(Elekk Plushie, or leveling pet of your choice, no minimum hp requirement)

Bonestorm and Cleave are great for hitting all 3 enemy pets with Undead damage. Bonestorm hits for a lot, but has a CD. Cleave is great because its damage is split across the entire enemy team, so as enemy pets die, it hits the remaining pets harder.

Murkalot and Deathy are both 276 speed.
Fossilized Hatchling is 257 speed.
Weebomination is 244 speed.
Murkimus is 195 speed.

Start with Weebomination
1a) Murkalot will open with Falling Murloc
1b) Cleave
2a) AI will swap to Deathy
2b) Cleave again
3a) Deathy will use Scorched Earth
3b) Cleave again
4a) Deathy will stun you with Clobber
4b) Eat the stun with Weebomination
5a) Deathy will charge Deep Breath
5b) Swap to Fossilized Hatching
6a) Deathy will fire Deep Breath
6b) Bonestorm

Start with Blighthawk. Tarr starts with Gladiator Murkalot.

1. Liftoff

Murkalot dies. Tarr brings out Gladiator Deathy.

I did 2 pets for Plushie with Unborn Val'kyr and Fossilized Hatchling

Start Elekk Plushie (or whatever) and take the first hit
Switch to Unborn Val'kyr, Curse of Doom off CD, Shadow Strike otherwise, Unholy Ascension upon death
Switch to Fossilized Hatchling, finish off with Bonestorm and Bone Bite.

I used Fossilized Hatchling, Giant Bone Spider and Restless Shadeling. This fight was super easy with this line up. I was even able to pass instead of swapping pets when my pet was stunned and unable to make a move.

For people who, like me, try to get the Draenor pet battle masters done in the least possible amount of time, here's a tip for Tarr: Set your hearth to Yrel's Watch and use Aviana's Feather to get to the Ring of Blood quickly. This also works for Highmaul and BMAH.

2 manned reliably with:

1 - Macabre Marionette (Bone Bite, Siphon Life, Dead Man's Party)
2 - Mr Grubbs (consume (only spell I end up using), Acidic Goo, Burrow)
3 - Plushie/Carry Pet

Start out with Macabre Marionette and keep Siphon Life up, with Dead Man's Party inbetween (through his pet swaps), then bring out Mr Grubbs with consume when he's done to clean up, which should only be 1/2 turns if it goes well.

For An Awfully Big Adventure this is what worked the best for me...

Clockwork Gnome, Bonkers and my Elekk Plushie

I used the gnome using torrets rebuild and metal fist anytime torrets cooled down I put it up and used rebuild on every cooldown. When the one opponent goes into the air on his fly put in your elekk plushie to take the damage then back to the gnome. The gnome will die and when it does bring in Bonkers and use Tornado punch and then going bonkers and then jab and tornado punch on all cool downs. It worked like a gem for me after trying several of the combos listed here and then making up my own this trio slaughtered them.

I didn't have anything too exotic to use, and even though I know undead pets would be the default choice against humanoids, none of my undead pets were up to snuff. I was able to defeat Tarr using a Darkmoon Zeppelin with Missile, Bombing Run and Decoy, a Darkmoon Tonk with Missile, Shock and Awe and Lock-On, and a Iron Starlette with Wind-Up, Powerball and Supercharge.

I'm quite fond of this strategy as it's not very RNG dependant at all. In fact I haven't lost once using this strategy. The pet swap is timed so that the XP-gaining pet takes no damage. The only major downside is the pets it uses are not easy to obtain; especially the Unborn Val'kyr. The strategy is as follows:

Tarr the Terrible

Unborn Val'kyr (2/X/1) - obtained as a rare spawn in Northrend, try hunting for it at silly o'clock Note: You can use a Ghastly Kid (2/X/2) to substitute this pet, if you obtained one from the menagerie reward bag.
Fossilized Hatchling (2/X/2) - obtained from a fossil archaeology rare project
Levelling Pet

Step 1: Begin with Unborn Val'kyr. Cast Haunt on Gladiator Murkalot.
Step 2: Select your Levelling Pet, but don't attack; switch immediately to Fossilized Hatchling.
Step 3: Use BONESTORM on cooldown, and Bone Bite as a filler until you can BONESTORM again. Then keep spamming Bone Bite until the Fossilized Hatchling dies. (If your pet gets stunned, simply pass the turn)
Step 4: Switch back to Unborn Val'kyr and spam Shadow Shock until the fight is won.
