This pet, along with Kromli are a legendary pet battle team in your level 3 garrison. You start the encounter with them by interacting with the challenge post.

I was able to beat them quite easily using a 3x Direhorn Team, who are beasts so take less damage from the humanoid attacks.

and by using the abilities:
Primal Cry to Slow their attacks / Horn Attack which now has a 50% chance to stun / then fill in with Trample.

Video of their demise! Kromli & Gromli get Mothra'd

This is an extremely RNG fight that can go really your way or really NOT your way.
Team used:

Yellow Moth
Death Adder Hatchling
Blighthawk

The Yellow Moth is out first and it's important to use Cocoon Strike at the start because you want to avoid Kromli's Rupture. Then use Moth Dust and hope for it to proc it's sleep. It's not completely the end of the world if it doesn't proc -- but you may want to restart the fight if it does not. It is such an RNG fight that it's ideal if it lands. If Kromli is put to sleep, it will switch to Gromli and you get a couple good Alpha Strike in because he just uses Stoneskin right away. You will want to use Cocoon Strike on cooldown - because avoiding their big damage is key.

Your Death Adder Hatchling is used in the time-honored way as usual. Blinding Poison, Poison Fang and Puncture Wound what we're really after is the Blinding Poison to just avoid those hits. RNG will be in your favor if Gromli's nasty Haymaker misses and he stuns himself. It is really all up to RNG. Some fights I've soloed the whole thing with the Yellow Moth, sometimes I've used both pets but not the Blighthawk and sometimes, I've lost.

I find the 'not sure how it's going to work out' factor rather fun though! Happy Battling!

Flayer Youngling just murders them (121 MUST HAVE speed above 281, used P/S). Solo'd even in 4 of 7 tests.

Kromli comes out. Kick - Deflection - Blitz. Basically don't Kick if he starts to Dreadful Breath, let him chaincast that for three rounds, else Kick to prevent Comeback casts and Deflection everytime Kromli's rupture is up. Kromli dies. Kromli will always rupture if it is available. (Try to get him to cast Dreadful Breath instead of his Comeback which he'll start as soon as he's lower HP than you. DB is a lot less damage.)

Gromli comes out. His self stun from missing his haymaker does not interfere with your Kick stun.
Priority one: He will always stoneskin first if he does not already have the buff.
Priority two: He will haymaker if it is available.

Blitz - he Stoneskins - Deflection his Haymaker - he stuns himself. Blitz again. Kick. Blitz. Basically get a Blitz in if he is about to cast Stoneskin, and Deflection every Haymaker. Kick on cooldown unless you can Blitz before a Stoneskin.

Soloing depended on Blitz/Comeback/Crush RNG.

Used Pandaren Monk 212 as backup. Anubisath idol works well too as described in other comments.

I was able to 2-man this team today using

Anubisath Idol (abilities 1, 1, 1)
Kun-Lai Runt (abilities 2, 2, 2).

I had a Lil' Bad Wolf as the third because I was still testing, but the first two got the job done!

The idea with Anubisath v Kromli is that his most powerful attack against you is his Rupture with a 4 round cooldown - your top priority is to use Deflection every time his Rupture is available. Your next priority is to keep Sandstorm up at all times to pretty much counter his Dreadful Breath and keep your team's HP high. Finally Crush when there's nothing else to do. I killed him with about 10% HP left on my idol.

Next up is Gromli. He casts Stoneskin first, so now's a great time to refresh your Sandstorm or get a Crush in. If you can have Sandstorm up for a few turns with Gromli in play, that'll increase his chance of his Haymaker missing and stunning him for a turn, and more importantly, not murdering your active pet. If your idol is still alive, you can cast Deflection to block his Haymaker and get in an extra couple of attacks.

When your runt gets into play, your priority is to use Takedown every time you anticipate he'll be casting Haymaker, because if it misses you'll do quite a bit of extra damage. While his Haymaker is on cooldown, keep up Frost Shock and cast Deep Freeze -> Takedown.

As a side note, I admit I got lucky with Gromli not landing his Haymaker. Also, I had a couple turns where my runt was active with Sandstorm and Gromli's Stoneskin - when this happens, Frost Shock is blocked, doesn't do any damage, and doesn't apply the debuff, so don't bother. This didn't end up being a problem for me since Gromli was stunned so frequently. Good luck!

I used a multiple undead setup for taking Kromli & Gromli down.

Pet 1: Macabre Marionette (1. Bone Bite, 2. Siphon Life, 3. Dead Man's Party)
Pet 2: Unborn Val'kyr (1. Shadow Shock, 2. Curse of Doom, 3. Unholy Ascension)
Pet 3: Ghostly Skull (1. Death Coil, 2. Ghostly Bite, 3. Unholy Ascension)

I started out with the Macabre Marionette, using Dead Man's Party as an opener to put up the double damage debuff. I then cast Siphon Life to add some damage, and gain some life back. Filled in with Bone Bite until I had my initial death, then after returning to life for the extra round, I hit Dead Man's Party again, to reapply the double damage debuff.

After that, I brought in the Unborn Val'kyr, and applied Curse of Doom, followed by spamming Shadow Shock. Once I died for the first time, and returned to life, I cast Unholy Ascension.

Lastly, in came the Ghostly Skull, which used Death Coil until I got the last one down to roughly 700 health, then used Ghostly Bite (which hits for roughly 740 with the Unholy Ascension debuff on the target).

This requires alot of pet swaps and is nearly free of RNG kicking you in the face (aside from a crit we can't control) Not having the pets mentioned so far at max level I went with this as my team:

Unborn Val'kyr
Shadow Shock Curse of Doom Haunt

Mr. Bigglesworth
Pounce Ice Barrier Ice Tomb

Stitched Pup
Diseased Bite Howl Plagued Blood

Starting with Unborn Val'kyr I cast Curse of Doom. If I was stunned I quit the fight and started over. Swap straight away to Mr. Bigglesworth and cast Ice Tomb. Kromli will be too busy casting Dreadful Breath to do any serious damage at this point so swap to the Stitched Pup and cast Howl. At this point both Ice Tomb and Curse of Doom will render Kromli dead as a door nail.

I took advantage of the death by swapping back in Mr. Bigglesworth and cast Ice Barrier to allow time for howl to be back up and to take minimal damage. Bringing back Unborn Val'kyr and then PASS on next round for Ice Barrier to go down and for Gromli to possibly stun himself on a blocked hit. Cast Curse of Doom once more and swap in Stitched Pup. I then filled in time as Curse of Doom ticked down by casting Plagued Blood then Howl. The last round ended out with Diseased Bite followed by Curse of Doom exploding for double damage in Gromli face winning the fight.

A 273 Speed Restless Shadeling will also murder this 272 speed Gromli. 2-Turn Phase Shifts making it always stun itself with Haymaker, and high Undead damage does a lot of work here.

I tried a couple of different strats with this fight (with some undead abilities) but my team seemed to be getting wrecked. So instead I went with beasts since they take less damage from humanoid abilities and that seemed to work much better.

So basically I used 3 foxes. I kept up the howl debuff as much as I could and used bite in between.

Incredibly simple and it did the job. Tested the strat a few times again to make sure it was solid. One time it was close, but I still won. Another time Kromli and Gromli died while my third fox was at almost full health.

I was able to kill this team with two pets.

Unborn Val'kyr: Shadow Slash, Curse of Doom
I used Curse of Doom on cooldown and used Shadow Slash in between until Unborn Val'kyr died.

Ghostly Skull: Shadow Slash, Ghostly Bite
I used Ghostly Bite on cooldown and Shadow Slash in between.

The third pet I had ready to go was the Stitched Puppy (Diseased Bite, Howl, Plagued Blood) but I didn't need to use him.

Used Bonkers (1, 2, 2) and Flayer Youngling (1, 2, 1) to do this duo.

Start with Bonkers. Right off the bat, use Dodge to counter Rupture. Then from there use Tornado Punch on cooldown and Jab as filler. Use dodge every time Rupture comes off cd.

When Bonkers dies, use your Flayer's Deflection against Rupture/Haymaker (depending which one you are fighting). Kick on cd after that and Blitz in between. I also tried to time kick when he had 1 stack of his stoneskin buff so that I could get a round without the decreased damage.

Note that they do not have the burst damage protection buff that a lot of top level pet battles do, so you can destroy them with a Curse of Doom/double damage combo. I used Lil' K.T. and a Creepy Crate along with Fox Kit.

Alright, so Gromli and Kromli are Humanoid Pets, and they have some pretty hard hitting abilities. But not to fear, they are fairly easy to get down!
There are of course several strategies to this, but this was the second one I decided to try, and it worked like a charm!

Voodoo Figurine (Undead) - Wild Magic & Rot is what you want as nr. 2 and 3 ability.
Carrion Rat (Critter) - Any Critter will most likely do here, just make sure the pet will have less HP then the opponents and that it has the ability Comeback. It will be the only ability you need to use to crush them down.
Giant Bone Spider (Undead) - Bone Bite, Siphon Life & Death Grip will be your abilities. GBS will basically be your finisher, if you need him. You might be able to take them down with only the Figurine and the Rat.

STRATEGY:
You start with the Figurine and you will firstly cast Wild Magic. Wild Magic will last for 5 rounds, and it will give you a slight damage increase, so it is a decent thing to have. Second cast will be Rot, and here is where the Critter comes in. Rot gives the target a debuff, transforming them into an Undead for 5 rounds, no matter what pet family they are. The Critters have higher damage towards Undead, also, they are usually a lot quicker then most.

After you have cast Rot, the Rat will be swapped in, and you will simply cast Comeback until your target is dead. If the Rot debuff is gone before you can, (which is very unlikely), you will need to reapply it. If it so happens that Gromli and Kromli switches while you are damaging with your Critter, you have Death Grip from GBS, which will grab back in the target with lowest health, and you can finish him off from there.

This is your rotation, and there is not much more to it. Reapply Rot, and while you are at it, reapply Wild Magic. Boom down with Comeback, and if the last opponent have some HP left, and your two first are dead, use your GBS to finish them off.

I know that the team im about to discuss will be difficult for most to assemble, but upon my first attempt with this team i was successful with very little effort...

here it goes:

start with Curse of Doom, then spam Shadow Shock, and before your Unborn Val'Kyr dies use Haunt.

Like i said, difficult team to assemble, but i figured since the battle was so very easy with them I'd share my tale with you all.

After sending out two (undead) scourge whelplings, who failed, I one-shotted this fight on the basis of the Feverbite Hatchling.

It was so easy to solo Gromli that the fight almost felt bugged. I just webbed him and followed that up with leech life, then used strike whenever necessary. He periodically becomes confused and you get several free hits. I killed him and finished at full health. Go figure.

As per Ilostmabucket comment that has 14 upvotes, including mine, the Flayer Youngling and Anb. Idol with the Panda monk as backup in case, worked wonders. I tried every other combination all the way down ( I have a ton of lvl 25 pets, 389 lvl 25's) Anyhow absolutely none of the other methods worked multiple times. Undead just got slaughtered. The Foxes were dead in a few rounds, nothing worked.

Flayer youngling 289 speed, rare, with deflection Kick and Blitz finished off the first one. Just an unlucky timing on the 2nd attack of the 2nd one got him. Anb. Idol was half health when he killed the 2nd one.

I am missing a lot of suggested pets here, but found a strategy that worked wonderfully combining pets used in many of the other dailies.

Start out with Anubisath Idol (1,1,1) and follow cheffner's strategy:
Turn 1: Deflection
Turn 2: Sandstorm
Turn 3-5: Crush
Turn 6: Deflection
Keep up sandstorm on Cooldown and use Deflection on turns ending in 1 or 6.

Like cheffner, Kromli went down while my Idol had about 200hp left.

First turn of Gromli, use sandstorm. Next turn, use Deflection. Crush until you die.

Switch in Pandaren Water Spirit (X,2,2) and get ready for Howl Bomb time. Cast Geyser, then Whirlpool. Switch to Chrominius (X,1,2) and cast Howl. Geyser and Whirlpool will hit with the extra damage from Geyser. Follow up with a Surge of Power and the fight is over.

Fast, reliable strategy: Two Zandalari pets and a Ghostly Skull.

Open with Black Claw and Hunting Party, then finish off Kromli with a Leap or two. When you bring in your second pet, refresh Black Claw on Gromli and Hunting Party again, then mop up with Ghostly Skull's Shadow Slash and Ghostly Bite as a finisher.

There can be a lot of subtle variations in this fight due to RNG, but most of the time, you'll get more than halfway through Gromli before you have to bring Ghostly Skull in. I repeated the fight 10x with a S/S Zandalari Anklerender and S/S Zandalari Kneebiter without any problems.

I used an Anub Idol and a Kunlai Runt on these guys. The Idol is not ideal in the respect that it sets up a Humanoid vs. Humanoid match in which the Idol is outmatched in both brute damage and end-of-turn healing, but his shield and Sandstorm more than make up for it. Despite a nasty crit by Gromli, my idol won the matchup and survived with enough health to refresh Sandstorm. Since Kromli now had no one to swap out to, the Runt easily killed him. BTW, my 3rd pet was a carry. I opened with it and then swapped the Idol in.

I do not advocate this as the ideal setup for these guys, but I wanted to see what the Idol would do against these guys, and I didn't have a ton of time to research the ideal team. Certainly, Undead pets should work quite well, I just took the "quick and dirty" route. :)

Mully's 100% Leveling Strats. 70% of the time, it works every time!

Kromli & Gromli

You'll need the following:
Flayer Youngling P/S
Unborn Val'kyr H/H
Leveling Pet 145 hp is required, more for dragonkin - as 1 round of Dreadful Breath is a necessity.

Kromli >
R1- Go Flayer Youngling > Deflection
R2- Blitz
R3- Kick

From this point on:
Cast Deflection whenever Kromli's Rupture is off CD.
Cast Kick whenever it's off CD to reduce damage taken.
Cast Blitz for everything else - Kromli Dies.

Gromli >
R1- Blitz
R2- Deflection

Note 1: Gromli will always cast Stoneskin when the buff wears off (not when the spell is off CD)
Note 2: Gromli will always cast Haymaker when it's off CD so long as he's buffed with Stoneskin

From this point on:

Cast Deflection whenever Gromli's Haymaker is off CD whilst referring to Notes 1-2
Cast Kick whenever it's off CD to reduce damage taken
Cast Blitz for everything else

If Flayer Youngling dies - Go leveling Pet > Don't cast anything, swap out immediately
If Gromli is around 400 hp and Flayer Youngling is still alive and strong - Wait for Stoneskin to wear off then swap to Leveling Pet - for that round only.

R5- Go Unborn Val'kyr > Curse of Doom - Unless Gromli is close to dead in which case > Shadow Shock
R6- Shadow Shock Until Gromli Dies.

Quite a jumble of text but after 1-2 fights it becomes relatively simple.

My aim here is to develop solid strats so as to utilise and benefit from the massive XP gains these fights offer, whilst carrying pets as low level as possible.

What worked for me
Any three moths, all with:
Alpha Strike
Cocoon Strike
Moth Dust

I tried a lot of combinations based on what others had posted but didn't have any of the exact pets. Then read jensketch's comments about the moth being the key. I was starting to get frustrated so thought why not. They key is to have all three set with these abilities and hit Cocoon and Moth Dust on CD.

I combined some strategies listed above since I didn't all the suggested pets:

Anubisath Idol - Active abilities: Crush, Sandstorm, Deflection
Pandaren Monk - Active abilities: Takedown, Staggered Steps, Blackout Kick
Amber Moth - Active abilities: Alpha Strike, (didn't use middle ability), Moth Dust

After Anubisath Idol and Pandaren Monk, Gromli had little health left so my Amber Moth only had to Alpha Strike + Moth Dust to win.

Two manned it fairly easily with this team:

Unborn Val'kyr (2,2,2)
Stitched Pup for Howl. The val'kyr does most of the work.

If you don't immediately get stunned by Kromli's ruprite, start off with Curse of doom, then keep spamming shadow shock until Kromli dies. The Curse will likely finish him off before he kills the Val'kyr.

Once Gromli comes in, RNG plays a bit more of a factor what with Haymaker. His earth shield buff gives you time to get one spell off - either shadow shock him again or cast curse of doom, depending on how long you feel the val'kyr will last (that is, if you feel lucky and think you'll avoid the haymaker). Once he uses haymaker on that turn, the Val'kyr will die. You can cast curse of doom on the turn she resurrects, and with the final turn before she truly dies, use unholy ascension.

Next, swap in the stitched pup. At this point, just time the howl for curse of doom, and Gromli should die easily.

There's a bit of RNG involved here, but I think that's unavoidable with these two pet bosses...

1) Anubisath Idol 1,1,1 Start off with Deflection. Use it again not right after it comes off cooldown but the 2nd turn after that, is when he uses the earth spikes.
2) Forest Moth 2,1,2 (alpha, cocoon, moth dust)

Hello all,

Gromli and Kromli are rather ugly humanoids (no offence of course).

I've tried again several teams:

Pandarian Water Spirit Gyeser, whirlpook
Unborn Val'Kyr Doom Haunt
Bonkers dodge Tornado

It worked rather well, not very good.

If you want a quick succes I suggest

Xu-Fu prowl Feed (high damage and high healing)
Zanarian Anklerender claw hunting party or Primal Cry Claw Hunting Party
Zanarian Anklerender same

Xu-Fu will finish as usual:)

I like Primal Cry because the high damage to finish a mob.

Modification to cheffner's strategy above:
1) Anubisath Idol with abilities 1,1,1
2) Lesser Voidcaller with 1,2, and either 1 or 2 (recommend 2)

First guy. Use Deflection right out the gate. His first attack is always rupture. Key after that is to use it the round AFTER it becomes available for use again (edit: double-checked just now, Deflection has 3 round cooldown, boss's rupture has 4 round cooldown). Rupture has a slightly longer cooldown. Keep up sandtorm. Pummel the guy as much as you can.

Once first is down, the second will come out. He always casts stoneskin first. His second move is ALWAYS a big hit. If Anub's deflection is up, use it for the second round on the second pet. Then use him up.

Once voidcaller comes in use Drain Power to boost your own attack power and weaken the other guy. Use prismatic barrier pretty liberally as it gives you a good window to block the massive strike. Shadowshock with the buff from Drain Power hits nicely.

Add in a 3rd hard-hitting pet as a potential closer.

So I must have been feeling particularly masochistic today, since I just spent the last 12 hours trying different combinations and ability timings on this fight, leveling several different pets for different ideas at different points. I'll spare you the details of every combination I tried in my search for that perfect combination to both level pets and to (almost) completely negate RNG. Obviously, critical hits can throw a monkey wrench into most strategies, but Haymaker or a 2nd Rupture that procs the stun (which are the places where most people have been having problems, it seems) have no bearing whatsoever in the outcome of this strategy.

Pets used:
1 - (X-2-2) Unborn Val'kyr (B/B )
2 - (1-2-X) Stitched Pup (H/P )
3 - Leveling pet (Must be able to survive 3 x Dreadful Breaths )

There is no room for deviation that I could find in the following ability order, except delaying the Stitched Pup switch to Round 3, which doesn't effect the outcome of the fight.

Round 1 - Cast Curse of Doom (If Rupture stuns, restart the fight )
Round 2 - Switch to Stitched Pup
Round 3 - Cast Howl
Round 4 - Cast Diseased Bite
Round 5 - Cast Diseased Bite (Watch Kromli explode. A critical hit on Comeback may cause issues in Round 9.5)
Round 6 - Switch to Unborn Val'kyr
Round 7 - Cast Curse of Doom
Round 8 - Cast Unholy Ascension (Even if Haymaker misses)
Round 9 - Switch to Stitched Pup (Barring crits, Pup should be at 649/1546 health)
Round 9.5 - Cast Howl (A critical hit on Crush would likely lose the fight)
Round 10 - Cast Diseased Bite (Passive must and will pop here without previous crits)
Round 11 - Cast Diseased Bite (watch Gromli explode, and Stitched Pup keel over)
Round 11.5 - Leveling pet enters the fray, soaks up all the glory (and delicious experience) with no mid-fight switch necessary

If anyone wants to test this with an H/H Unborn Val'kyr and let me know how that goes, I can update this post on whether or not it's fine. Though the Curse of Doom is generally overkill on both Kromli and Gromli by quite a bit with a B/B (at least by 500 hit points or so).

Anyway, hope this helps someone quickly and easily level some pets on days this daily is available. Or if you're having trouble with other strategies, hopefully this helps save your computer and/or keyboard from flying out the window. The RNG Gods can be super $%^&s ~~sometimes~~ most of the time.

I completed this pretty quickly.

I used Unborn Val'kyr lvl 25, Giant Bone Spider lvl 25, and Iron Starlette lvl 25.

Started with Val'kyr, used CoD, switched to spider and used siphon. Then I just used Leech Life and Bone Bite, alternating, until Kromli died. The first time, Kromli stunned my Val'kyr and, rather than stressing over it, I just restarted. Second time, no stun. My Spider DID die when Kromli had about 5% hp left but rezzed and finished him off.

Switched back to Val'kyr, used CoD, then Haunt. Switched to Iron Starlette and did the basic Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up. Gromli hits hard but my Iron Starlette didn't die before second Wind-Up hit, taking him down to about 10%. Haunt damage finished him off. I finished the fight with both my Val'kyr and my Iron Starlette alive and not even very close to dead.

I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, I might have just gotten lucky both times I tried it and won!

Argi (2-1-2) is really, really good against Gromli. Both his attacks are weak against you, and with your Headbutt's stun ability and his own Haymaker's self-stun (if it misses) you can in an optimal situation beat him without taking a single point of damage. In fact, I did just that three battles in a row before writing this comment just to make sure it wasn't a one-time luck thing. And even if you're not lucky with the stuns, you have a very good healing ability to keep you in the fight.

Used same line up I use to kill the cheating monks in celestial tournament:

Used:
Lesser Voidcaller - curse of doom, shadow shock
Stitched Pup - diseased bite, howl, I used consume in case I needed it to eat a dead teammate
Fox (power breed) - bite, howl, dance

Use Voidy for curse of doom, and immediately swap out one of the other two. I used fox first so I could also cast dazzling dance. Cast dazzling dance, howl and finish Kromli off with bite

Bring Voidy back in, curse of doom, swap out, stitched pup, howl. He may die here but come back with one last diseased bite. Gromli will have little life left.

At this point take your pick who kills Gromli. I bring back in Voidy to shadow shock as it is strong against humans.

This is by no means a full proof strat but it worked for me, and it might work for you. By order of use:

Unborn Val'kyr b/b (shadow shock, curse of doom, unholy ascension)
Pandaren Water Spirit (water jet, whirlpool, geyser)
Rapana Whelk (absorb) (I had mine with shell shield and headbutt just in case, but didn't use them)

Valkyr goes out first with curse of doom. If she get's stunned on the first round before she even casts it then forfeit, you wont live. Valk'yr needs to solo the first guy, otherwise you'll never win.

The way that I did it, she lived with something like 90HP when she killed kromli. Then when gromli swapped in, I used shadow shock, because gromli will shield first and not kill her still. Important to get some damage in.

IF he misses with his attack, which happens often and unfortunately its a huge RNG bs thing, then shadow shock again. If he doesn't miss then Curse of doom, revive and Unholy ascension. Either way, you want to make sure that val'kyr leaves both of her debuffs on gromli before she dies.

By this point the fight is almost won. The only thing that can mess you up is RNG.

Bring in Pandaren Water Spirit next and cast the usual... Geyser, followed by Whirlpool. Its important that she gets BOTH out, if she doesn't well... your rapana whelk might have issues.

My PWS lived to cast whirlpool again, therefore, in between I casted water jet. At this point I was able to kill grimli, due to all the debufs combined.

However, if RNG bs happens to you, the rapana whelk's absorb is strong against these guys and she seems to take reduced damage from their attacks even though she's not technically supposed to, so you can heal yourself and do dmg. You should be able to kill him.

If you headbutt him, you have a chance that he gets stunned and thus props for your rapana cuz more absorb and more heals.

It's a lot of RNG bs, but I think it should work. Again, I still don't have many pets at 25 so I have to do with what I have. Anyway, Good luck!

Strategy that went 3-3 (albeit narrowly) and does NOT require the Unborn Val'kyr.

1. Anubisath Idol

a. open with Deflection
b. time subsequent Deflections when Kromli's Rupture comes off cooldown. he will *always* cast it upon cooldown.
c. use Crush as your offensive attack

***** Kromli either will die or be very close to death

2. Some sort of moth with Cocoon Strike

***** If he isn't dead, use alpha strike to finish off Kromli. Gromli now enters the battle.

a. use cocoon strike to align with his Haymaker. He isn't as predictable as Kromli but this generally works.

b. for offense, use either Alpha Strike or Moth Balls. i never was able to put him to sleep with Moth Balls, but alternated between these two. bottom line, you want him to Haymaker into your Cocoon Strike so that he takes the automatic stun thereafter.

3. Chrominius

***** For whatever reason, I did not have success with two moths. Using Chrominius as the closer is tricky, because he'll take increased backline damage from Kromli before he ever gets to fight Gromli. If he gets crit by Kromli during that backline damage phase, I'd reset.

a. Howl

b. Bite

c. Surge of Power

****** Season to taste. You may or may not need Bite before Surge of Power, but obviously you don't want to use SoP until you know it will finish him. If timed correctly, hopefully he won't have up Stoneskin and this phase will last just 2 moves and at most 3.

****** Chrominius won't last long as he suffers big melee damage from Gromli as well, but I found that the huge burst damage at the end worked better than the duel-moth strategy. YMMV.

2x Iron Starlette: 1,1,1

Unborn Val'kyr use Curse of Doom, Shadow Shock until bonus death round, and then Unholy Ascension.

Iron Starlette's use standard Wind-up, Supercharge, Wind-up, then Wind-up, Wind-up, or fill with Powerball if you think you have one round left.

Second Iron Starlette uses same sequence as first.

I haven't leveled up a third Iron Starlette yet, but i'm betting you could run these two using three of them.

I've been messing about with different combinations of pets that are strong against these two for a while now, and after some extensive testing i ended up going completely the opposite way!
I started using 3 beasts, which take less damage from Gromli and Kromli =)
Here is how its been working for me:

Twilight Spider, Forest Spiderling and Crunchy Scorpion
2 Spiders, 1 scorpion, all with standard movesets, the spiders were both B/B and the scorpion was a H/S breed. All 3 of these pets are faster than both G&K. You can pretty much substitute in any spider or scorpion as long as it has the standard moveset and speed higher than both of the gronnlings.

First of all, Kromli, start with spiders, applying Brittle Webbing and then following up with Spiderling Swarm and a couple of Strike's until you need to re-apply Brittle Webbing.
Kromli's Dreadful Breath hits all 3 of your pets, while Brittle Webbing is up, resulting in an extra 97 dmg per pet hit ( 291 total ) on ALL THREE of the rounds in which he uses it! ( thats a pretty impressive 873 self inflicted damage over 3 rounds XD )

I usually manage to kill Kromli when my 1st spider is either very low on health, or on the first turn of my 2nd spider.

Gromli is a little trickier, his Stoneskin prevents all damage that would be done to him via attacking my pets, so instead i just used Strike until my 2nd spider dies. In comes Crunchy Scorpion using Crouch to even further reduce the damage he can inflict.
Follow that up with Rampage and a Snap and then you can re-apply Crouch and start over.

Havent had a whole lot of trouble while using this setup, in fact ive even been stunned from the first Rupture and survived to finish them off. Overall i'd say 85-90% success chance and the pets are standard, easy to get ones too.

Kromli and Gromli can defeat with a 80% success chance with 2 pets. The leveling pet should have around 500 HP. 300 is also enough. However Kromli may not crit with Dreadful Breath.

My pet dies and I switch to the first Zandalari Kneebiter.

It also depends whether 's ability missed and stun themselve. 50% probability. So you have to adapt the fight with your 3 abilities.
However, with a 3rd Zandalari Kneebiter goes the battle of 100% victorious.

I found that infinite whelpling (2 1 1) takes out the first guy and does some pinging to the second (because they keep swapping) and then anubisath idol finishes things nicely. Didn't even need chromi.

Spiders.

As beasts, they take less damage from Humanoids - and they have the undead ability Leech Life which does bonus damage.

Brittle Webbing and Strike were the other two abilities I used; I found one level 25 spider could take down Gromli and have a bit of health left over to start on his buddy Kromli.

Edited to add:
New in Shadowlands, the Boneweave Hatchling is a spider with Diseased Bite which does a bit more damage than Strike does.

I have 4 100's and this combo worked with all of them.

Unborn Val'kyr

Shadow Slash X as many as you want. This alone usually killed Gromli or at least got him very close. You could also use SS's then a Curse of Doom then Haunt.

This usually finished Kromli. Three out of four times I only needed these two pets.

A spider of some sort. I only needed it once out of three times. I used

Took two tries on this. First, I had used Val'kyr, Kun'Lai Runt, and Zandalari Kneebiter, unsuccessful!

Second time around, I used Alpine Foxling Kit, Alpine Fox Kit and Unborn Val'kyr. Kicked ass, with 25% HP on my Kit after it was all over.

Unborn Val'Kyr *Rare* - Curse of Doom, Shadow Shock, Unholy Ascension (dead, but left Gromli with a small amount of HP)

Alpine Foxling Kit *Rare* - Howl, Bite (destroyed Gromli and got Kimly down to about 75%HP)

Alpine Fox Kit *Common* - Howl, Bite (Finished off Kimli, but with 25% HP)

Turn 5 Bite (CoD hits) goodbye Kromli, you might have to apply an extra bite :)
Turn 6 Swap to Voidcaller
Turn 7 cast Curse of Doom
Turn 8 Swap to foxling
At this point just cast Bite until CoD hits and Gromli goes down.
Im using this team on several alts and it seems solid.

I used a Restless Shadeling (1,1,2) and Unborn Val'kyr (2,2,1). I had a Lil' K.T. (1,1,2) as back-up, but I did not end up using it. People who don't buy store pets could use whatever they want as filler.

Opened with Restless Shadeling

-Phase Shift On turn one.
-Plagued Blood Turn 2.
-Shadow Shock As filler.

Cast Phase Shift every time it is off cooldown. Keep up Plagued Blood. Shadow Shock in-between, til Shadeling dies.

Bring out Unborn Val'kyr.

I ended up not using Haunt at all.

I cast Curse of Doom turn 1, and then Shadow Shocked Kromli to death.

Was able to solo using Amethyst Spiderling - Rare H/S.

Used:

Brittle Webbing
Leech Life
Poison Spit

Always keep the webbing up.

Web, Leech Life, Poison Spit, Leech Life, Web, etc. until dead.

Admittedly RNG played a roll as attacks against me were often missed. With another spider or Chromi could have also finished this up.

Had Giant Bone Spider and Chrominius as backups but didn't need them.

Son of Sethe could solo it without any problems. Keep Touch of Animus up whenever possible. And Drain Blood when you're going to die. And spam Absorb as filler.

Note that Gromli is slower than Son of Sethe, but Kromli is faster, although it wont be a problem to solo both with one Son of Sethe. For safety, I keep Chrominius as backup to finish them off with Howl + Surge of Power combo. But it never needed. Good luck.

This is what worked for me. If it works for you, I'm glad - this is my first ever Pet Battle write up. (Well, any WoW write up/strategy.)

Anubisath Idol (1,1,1)
Chrominius (1, 1, 2)
Flayer Youngling (S/S) (1, 2, 1)

The kicker here is the two pets with deflection.

Kromli
1. Start with Anubisath Idol - Deflect (Always deflect Kromli's Rupture)
2. Sandstorm
3. Swap to Chrominius
4. Howl
5. Surge of Power (he'll eat a rupture during his recover phase)
6. Howl (he'll likely die) - sometime's he's dead before he can howl, really unlucky but this is why we test.
7. Flayer Youngling - Kick (causes a stun - yesss)
8. Blitz
9. Deflect
10. Blitz
11. Kick
12. Blitz (if lucky - Kromli dead, if not, Blitz again)

Gromli
1. Keep Flayer Youngling out - Blitz while Gromli buffs
2. Deflect - Gromli will stun himself because he'll miss. This is why making sure you're S/S is important to make sure you beat his 276 speed.
3. Blitz while he's stunned (Tip: Don't be tempted to use Kick - the stuns will stack and expire at the same time!) then follow with Kick - Repeat kick/blitz/deflect rotation) until Gromli dies or your Flayer does.
- If your flayer dies, Swap to Anubisath Idol and finish it off, I wouldn't bother with sand just punch him.

SPIDERS!

Solo both with Desert Spider. Switch between Sticky Web and double heal yourself with Leech Life. They can cause minimal damage to your backline pets, so for safe backup have two other spiders waiting for just in case. You don't really need to ever use Strike. Leech Life has a one round cooldown so spam Sticky Web first then Leech Life second, over and over.

It's not a quick fight, about 15 - 18 rounds. But it's easy to solo -- every now and then I have won the fight, and sometimes due to Leech Life being my final attack, I have ended up with full health on my main!

Jungle Grub can solo them by alternating between Consume and either Acid Goo/Burrow.

I don't think it really matters which.

Feverbite Hatchling is another excellent choice. The key is that they use humanoid abilities, which means beasts are a good choice to sustaining damage. Humanoid are weak to undead and these pets have undead abilities that HEAL. Works great.

Backup pet for these should be creatures with massive damage to counter Stoneskin, which is annoying. The Unborn Val'kyr is a good bet.

I prefer using these two pets for a quick fight:

zandalari kneebiter(2,2,2)
macabre marionette(2,x,1)

Black Claw>Hunting Party>Bloodfang - Gromli dies.
Black Claw>Bring in Macabre>Dead Man's Party>Bone Bite - Kromli dies.

Today I beat Gromli & Kromli (twice) with a single pet. P/P Widow Spiderling, and P/S Molten Hatchling.

The Widow Spiderling is much more aggressive than the Molten, and can be killed when Gromli comes out if he lands all of his Haymakers, or Crits a few times.

Brittle Webbing -> Leech Life -> Strike -> Leech Life (Repeat)

The Molten Hatchling on the other hand, is more defensive. Where the Widow will take down Kromli fairly quickly, the Molten prefers to play a game of attrition.

Brittle Webbing -> Leech Life (Repeat)
Save Cauterize for when you are hit with a Crit, or a Haymaker lands.

One of the daily pet battles that can appear at your garrison menagerie. This daily is a character-level daily, not an account-level daily. Don't forget to pick up your quest from Serr'ah (Horde) or Lio the Lioness (Alliance).

Menagerie Team:

Kromli (humanoid) | Speed: 236 | Rupture, Dreadful Breath, Punch
Gromli (humanoid) | Speed: 276 | Haymaker, Crush, Stoneskin

This fight has heavy RNG based on the stun/miss chances of Kromli's Rupture & Gromli's Haymaker.

- By the time Haunt is ready to use again, it will likely be during Ghastly's undead round, where it will miss, wasting a round you could be doing damage to Gromli. Don't plan your fight to Haunt more than once.

Fight is typically over in 15 rounds, goes by pretty quick. Avoids/Absorbs 3 of the 4 RNG attacks you'll encounter.

It does not appear that either pet has alternate breeds, so the main impact will be if Gromli's first Haymaker hits or misses - though that is usually still survivable.

Can be solo'd with H/H Unborn Val'kyr tried this morning.

Open with CoD on Kromli then spam with Shadow Shock same method used on Gromli still had
150hp left both down very quick.

Gromli haymaker missed both times it was up so that helped ofc ;)

Had Feverbite hatchling and Lil.K'T in reserve. Tried a few more times and found I needed to bring in Lil. K'T to finish off Gromli.

On those occasions again use CoD and then spam shadow slash. Still quick fight.

I had a lucky win with Blighthawk (H/P, 1 2 2) and an Aqua Strider (S/S, 1 1 2). Blighthawk goes first with Ghostly Bite then starts the Cyclone. Infected Claw until Ghostly Bite is available, rinse and repeat. The Blighthawk was able to kill Kromli and get Gromli down to 706 health before dying, the Aqua Strider finished him off easily. However, this is RNG dependent, it failed on the second toon.

Unborn Valkyr and Grommlok did the job for me. Shadow Shock + CoD till she got low then Haunt. Traded in Grom. Giants Blood then Might Charge. One Vicious Slice to victory!

This fight gave me a right royal headache. Got so frustrated by it, I gave up several times. Finally, tonight, I conquered the little darlings, and this was my team:

Anubisath Idol: Use Deflection first and keep this up. Keep Sandstorm up, and spam Crush

Unborn Val'kyr: Use Curse of Doom first. Spam Shadow Shock until you need to use Unholy Ascension as her last move.

Fossilized Hatchling: Use Bone Bite as attack, and Ancient Blessing to heal. I didn't use Bone Prison.

It's a little bit rng, but I've killed Kromli with the Festering Maggot and been a near full health and then took Gromli down to ~800 hp before the maggot died. Crominious easily cleaned up. The strategy is fairly easy. Use Consume on cooldown and switch between Acidic Goo and Leap to fill. I tried using Burrow instead of Leap to avoid his big hit, but he'll get you every other one and you are forced to use Acidic Goo when it's already up.

Wrecked these fools using Fossilized Hatchling & Skyfire Deck Gun

Start out with your fossilized hatchling and
get death & decay down and start chomping away with bonebite. The Fossilized Hatchling should die as kromli goes down.

Send out any zandalari raptor and black claw into hunting party and gromli will fall.

Unborn Val,kyr curse of doom, shadowshock until gromli dies, shadowshock kromli until Val'kyr dies

Macabre Marrionette deadmans party, bone bite and kromli dies.

Fun combo to kill these guys:
Fel Pup
Sen'jin Fetish or Voodoo Figurine
Arctic Fox Kit (speed above 276)

Start wit Fel Pup -> Crouch -> Howl -> Diseased Bite x3 -> Crouch -> Diseased Bite until dead

Gromli Comes in -> Howl -> At this point its 50/50 chance Fel Pup is alive depending if haymaker hits. Just continue same rotation to kill him if he misses

If Fel pup dies, switch to Sen'Jin Fetish->Wild Magic-> Shadow Slash until dead -> Rot on immortal round->
Get Fox out -> Just Flurry or Howl+Flurry depending on health

Some times Fel Pup solo it for me but with some bad stuns/crits all 3 have been used. Been 100% succes for me with these pets atleast

Alternative Strategy:
Start with Sen'Jin Fetish -> Wild Magic -> Rot-> Switch to Fox -> Howl+ Flurry = 1st guy dead
Gromli comes in-> same procedure as Kromli

If unlucky stuns etc just switch to Fel Pup:)

After trying the other strategies & failing I came up with my own

unborn val'kyr-shadow shock, curse of doom, unholy ascension
creepy crate-chomp, curse of doom, devour

Kromli is first, bring out the unborn use curse & shadowshock kromli dies, your curse should be back up, hit him with that then unholy ascension, unborn dies. Bring out the crate & chomp until gromli dies.

Easy strat with Unborn Val'kyr, Stitched Pup and Carry Pet

1. Open with Val'kyr, curse of doom
2. Shadow Shock til Grom is dead
3. Bring in carry pet for one round
4. Bring Val'kyr back in curse of doom, shadow shock til death (or can UA if you want after curse of doom)
5. Bring in stiched pup, consume corpse to bring back hp, howl (make sure curse of doom has no more than 2 rounds left before using howl), diseased bite if he doesn't die to howl+curse of doom

Post-6.1 fast kill

Since patch 6.1, the XP on pole-based Garrison fights is worthless, so there is no use for a leveling pet.

Kromli and Gromli are a pain, because of their random stuns. So there is no real perfect strat for them. Let's try and keep it simple and quick then :)

Your pets for this fight:

Fel Pup with 1,x,2 (Diseased Bite, any, Howl) (Easy to get in Tanaan)
Lost Netherpup with 2,2,x (Shadow Shock, Howl, any) (for sale for 200 Shiny Pet Charm at your Menagerie vendor)
Any powerful pet with Shadow Shock, such as Sister of Temptation (1,1,3), Grotesque (2,2,2) or Restless Shadeling (1,1,1). Anyway, unless real bad RNG (happens in like 1/10 fight) I never have to pull out the 3rd pet.

And ... well ... keep Howl up as much as you can (except if you can finish the fight with a single damage of course), and spam the direct damage spell (Diseased Bite or Shadow Shock).
If you have to pull out your 3rd pet (which will only happen with the baddest RNG), use any other DoT if you feel up to it, but usually one or two damage spell will end this quickly anyway.

If you get stunned, just swap for another pet.

And that's all, folks. I reviewed a few strats here, and this one, as simple as it is, is the most efficient for me so far.

A pet that did surprisingly well was Fungal Abomination. Superb sustain, not a lot of damage but definitely enough to get the job done. I used Absorb/Leech Seed/Stun Seed, and the heals were simply too many to keep up with. I might however have lucked out a bit with a couple of Haymaker misses here and there, but it still soloed both Gromli and Kromli three consecutive times.

I picked it up at level 25 for cheap from the AH, but if you're feeling ambitious you can try to farm it from Loatheb in Naxxramas!

I was able to use with quite a bit of ease..

Anubisath Idol (using the guides here Deflection on start and again 1 turn after it's available again) keeping Sandstorm up, and Crushing. My Idol died when the first pet had 250HP.

I also used Son of Sethe which was surprisingly good against both pets. I used Touch of the Animus, then Absorb, then Drain Blood. Many times during the fight I was at full health. One time the 2nd pet hit me for an insane amount which brought me down to 100 HP but after Drain Blooding and Absorbing etc I was back up to full health again quite quickly. I swapped in a lvl 14 Little Bling and used Blingtron Gift Package which missed and then healed my Bling for a few hundred :)

1st time doing this fight, 1st time winning although I can see how the RNG could have caused me to lose this fight but Son of Sethe could probably solo both pets quite easily.

I just redid the fight with only Son of Sethe... decimated both pets with ease. I only used the Drain Blood if my health dropped a bit, and I found that after the 2nd pet does a massive hit, it doesn't attack sometimes afterwards and does a 5 round damage reduction shield which is when I used Drain Blood and ended back almost at full health. I didn't even bring out my last 2 pets since I just did it a minute ago with the 1st strategy.

After failing twice with the most popular strategy, i did this with Unborn Valkyr (curse of doom, shadowslash, unholy ascension) and Darkmoon Zeppelin (Decoy, Bombing Run, missile). Didnt need my third pet.

Sister of Temptation killed both on her own for me, I had Pandaren Water Spirit and Anubisath Idol as back up, but didn't need them.

Rotated Curse of Doom and Shadow Shock, with the occasional Haunting Song (used it once on each pet).

First cast Haunt.
Then Howl and Shadow Shock.

There is a fair bit of RNG involved due to the damage range of Shadow shock but most of the time the Netherpup will take out both. Fel pup is just back up in case you get bad RNG, but you could just as easily use a level pet and have Ghastly kid with diseased bite back up if needed.

Here is my faster / effective / quickest / speedily / rapidly and easiest tactical without RNG:

Kromli & Gromli-->55 seconds
Zandalari Kneebiter 2/2/2 + Zandalari Kneebiter 2/2/2

If you can be faster than me, please tell me but be honest and minimizing the RNG, time is calculated from the first spell I used untill the end-animation :)

After reading all the recommendations on here, I thought I would share what worked for me. Firstly, thanks all for the undead options cos that helped alot with picking my team. Infected Fawn worked well against Kromli (the little so and so that it is) with diseased bite, consume corpse (didn't actually use it) and siphon life (when needed). that took care of Kromli and then I just smashed Gromli with Scourged Whelpling (tail sweep, death and decay and plagued blood). I had Unborn Valkyr as back up but didn't need her in the end. Scourged Whelpling does well against Gromli as it stuns itself in attacks and does little damage against my little flying fella. Cheers.

Here's what worked for me, today, since I'm rather lackadaisical with training up my pets:
Macabre Marionette (Bone Bite, Siphon Life, Bone Barrage)
Brightpaw (Bite, Arcane Dash, Prowl)
Anubisath Idol (Crush, Sandstorm, Deflection) (Although, he never came out)

Kromli opened with Rupture, but my Macabre Marionette was faster, starting with Bone Barrage.
Marionette used Siphon Life, and Kromli used Dreadful Breath, which dealt damage to all my pets.
Marionette used Bone Bite, and Kromli Siphon Life'd back, so everyone's gagging and healing and it just smelled bad.
Marionette's Bone Bite didn't kill Kromli, yet.
Kromli got bit again with Bone Bite, after which he PUNCHed my Marionette.
Marionette launched Bone Barrage, since he was about to first-die. Kromli flattened my poor skeleton with Rupture.
Marionette got another good Bone Bite in, before getting Punched again by Kromli. Dead-dead skelly.
Brightpaw came in, and finished off Kromli with one Bite.
Gromli came in, so Brightpaw went on the Prowl. Gromli smacked the kitty with a Haymaker (ow!). Bone Barrage was still in effect.
Gromli use Crush on Brightpaw, but got the stuffin' beat out with Arcane Dash (for 1,465 damage!), and G was stunned, to boot, and Bone Barrage was STILL in effect.
Brightpaw used Bite, while Gromli Stoneskin'd up
Brightpaw used Bite again, and Gromli missed with his Haymaker, and was stunned.
More cat-Bites while stunned
Another Bite, and victory was mine.

I used:
Anubisath Idol: Def, SS, Crush x's 3, Def, Crush, SS, Crush x's 2, Def, Crush x's 2, SS, Crush, Def, Crush.
Unborn Val'kyr: Curse, Shadow Shock x's 5, Curse, Shadow Shock x's 2.
Kun Lai Runt: Deep Freeze and if necessary, Takedown.

RNG might mess with you now and then but most of the time I had great outcomes with the above.

Alpine Foxling - Dazzling Dance spell to buff the speed of other pets. Howl to increase damage. Don't bother using Bite. Switch to Rapana Whelk to damage.
Rapana Whelk - Use undead spell Absorb to damage/heal. Use Shell Shield for defense. It is important to keep the shell shield up. Lasts 5 rounds, but when it gets to 1 round (don't wait until the buff disappears before rebuffing!), go ahead and rebuff it because it really absorbs a ton of damage. And especially use headbutt when not on cooldown. Repeat as often as necessary. Rapana Whelk can actually kill one of the Gromli or Kromli all by himself and do extra damage to the other. When he dies, switch to Alpine Foxling to rebuff the speed of your troops. He will die. When Alpine Foxling and Rapana Whelk both die, bring in undead Infected Fawn. Use spells: Diseased Bite as often as possible, and use Consumed Corpse twice for heals. Don't bother using Siphon Life or Death or Decay. Just focus on Diseased Bite for primary damage.

Lots of posts so not sure if anyone already called this out. Solo'd them with a Teroclaw Hatchling (2,2,2). Took a while but I made sure to keep up Dodge and Nature's Ward.

My pet collection is more or less just starting out, so I didn't have a lot of options when facing this pet. What I had was:

Silkbead Snail H/S, 2/1/1
Molten Corgi S/S, 1/1/1
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, S/S 1/1/2

I was able to down Kromli with Silkbead Snail by keeping Acidic Goo up, and using Absorb while it was up. That kept Silkbead Snail healed up while slowly whittling down Kromli's HP. When Silkbead Snail finally went down, Kromli only had a couple hundred points to go, which Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling was able to Breath away.

For Gromli, I tried-- not always successfully-- to time his Haymaker with Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling's Decoy. (I also tried to use Molten Corgi's Puppies of the Flame, but since Gromli usually had his shield up, the 70 damage a hit didn't scratch him.) That let me get a couple Breaths in every time he self-stunned. When MPD inevitably died, I alternated Superbark with Bark and Puppies of the Flame when I saw a big hit was coming.

Overall, a pretty sloppy strategy, but I think the key here was to use one pet only with Silkbead Snail. Anyway, I see the other strategies on this page seem like they're super helpful, but I figured I'd drop a comment anyway in case someone else had similar pets as mine!

I soloed this with lvl 25 Antoran Bile Larva (2,1,1). Kept Acidic Goo and Plagued Blood up on it and then kept hitting with Diseased Bite. Ended with 1041/1562 health.

keep Plagued Blood up, spam with Diseased Bite. use Drain Blood when you need some health.
