Anyone else hoping that this little fellow has an idle animation that involves lifting his leg and igniting nearby flora?

As far as a battle pet goes, this one looks quite useful:

Inferno Herding would counter Feign Death.
Super Bark also has potential for catching pets since it can't kill them.
Bark and Cauterize even make it a bit tanky. With proper timing, Puppies of the Flame can allow you to avoid high damage attacks as well.

This pet looks really good, both visually and for pet battle purposes. It doesn't have any obvious ability set that you would always go to but lot of interesting options. Lot will depend on what its breed will be though, looking at its abilities, I really hope it is fast, s/s breed would be ideal, since most of its abilities benefit greatly from going first, especially puppies of the flame and inferno herding, but bark and cauterize as well. For general build I would probably go with Bark, Cauterize, and Inferno Herding if it has high speed, if its slow then inferno herding loses lot of its value and puppies of the flame would become better, either way, that build would let it last forever against almost anything.

Molten Corgi is the battle pet reward for logging in during WoW's 10th Anniversary WoW's 10th Anniversary (21 November, 2014 to 6 January, 2015).

During the event be sure to check out the other events to get your rewards.

Upon completion of the Molten Core 40 man LFR the player will be rewarded a helm for their armor type and Core Hound Chain which teaches the mount Core Hound. Ilevel 615 required to que for Molton Core LFR.

All helms will also come with +63 Fire Resistance. Long time players will remember resistance stats and how necessary they were to do the original Molten Core at content.

Mail:Crown of Destruction
Plate:Crown of Desolation

Repeat runners of the Molten Core LFR have a chance to receive the Illusion: Flames of Ragnaros enchant illusion and the battle pet Hatespark the Tiny. Source https://twitter.com/Muffinus/status/509823441088679936 These do not have a guaranteed drop rate so more than 2 runs may be required. The Illusion: Flames of Ragnaros is reusable however.

Combine a high speed with a 2-turn immunity move, and a heal, this cutie is fairly solid on its own. Don't even have to be facing a mech opponent.

Fought against a guildie who used this as one of his few 25's. Between Puppies of a Flame and a heal that can be used between Puppies, it was very difficult to land much damage on it. Even using my old elemental-killer Rapana Whelk didn't out-survive him.

The Corgi doesn't demolish mech units the way most of our elementals do, but it lasts as well as any tank. Def consider planning against it.

Holy crap - if you somehow were working or on vacation or just not playing WoW on the day of this anniversary you're going to regret it forever. There is NO other battle pet with a similar ability set. You can get Superbark with pets that have zero elemental abilities, or Flamethrower with pets that have zero beast abilities. Puppies of the Flame is also really unique.
