As far as utilities and visible changes are concerned, they have changed ALOT of things about hunters since 3.0 patch. However, the class can still be played very well and is now balanced with all other classes. The only thing that has changed is that hunters have become less of a 5-year-olds class meaning you can't just spam three different shot buttons, send your pet in, and own everyone you see. The class now actually requires a small effort to play it well. I can see how that must be a tragic change for hunter players but to everyone else it is relief since almost the creation of the game.
Well, love all these changes. But what really made me amazed was the fact of removing the CD from adrenaline rush. On the first months of TBC, i could use this ability twice with preparation. That got removed sometime after it, because it was too powerfull. Now that i've heard that rogues are not quite good in DPSing atm, this could really tip off the scales for all the combat rogues. With adrenaline rush on at all time, they can do a special attack every 2-3 seconds. Add a 2.7 attack speed sword on the main hand, put a fast one in the off-hand, and presto, a rogue with a crazy DPS. But they'll have to notice something: they must do a rotation of 15 seconds if they want to keep it always. Some ppl may have gone through this with Hunger for Blood, but it was on a 30 second timer. And not only that, with all the "traps" that rogues have to watch out in the various encounters (Like whirlwind or the nether-drakes' rift spell at the Obsidian Sanctum) can make it hard to maintain Adrenaline Rush active while keeping the high DPS and your life both up and running. This is something we wll have to waitto confirm. But, on my oppinion, it'll probably get a much smaller cooldown, like, say, 1 minute. Like the paladin's Divine Plea, but for recovering energy instead of mana.Remember, i am just speculating based on what i know from my rogue days.
^@Adrenaline Rush. Can you not read? They said they are lowering the cooldown, not getting rid of it. That would be absolutely ridiculous.
I'm strictly a PvE player. from my standpoint it really seems like Arena plays a big part in a lot of the recent changes to class mechanics. and usually they are to balance play in arena. I realize it's probably a 2-way street, as of course, a lot of changes are made to accommodate PvE as well. But I would like to hear from a hardcore PvP'ers point of view, do you feel changes made to accommodate PvE players drastically affect they way you play in PvP? Currently there are some mechanics that change upon entering arenas and BGs (diminishing returns on CC for example). Hopefully we see more of this "dual mechanic" happen for more spells. So for instance Sunder Armor sees no changes in PvE, but the proposed changes in 3.1 are implemented once you enter Arena or BG.Considering there are still bugs being worked out from 3.0.8, it seems very unlikely this could happen anytime soon. (can you even imagine how buggy "dual-mechanics" would be?).
The Sunder Armor change is a big nerf, do to the fact that, in PvP, 5 rank sunder armor could reduce more against casters than the new version of it. It might work well against Plate-wearers, but it just won't be the same.
Oh man, I can't wait for the elemental/enhancement pvp changes.
Death knights nerfed COMEON BABY SICK OF THER OVERPOWERED WAYS
I love the priest changes. BTW, 90 posts in 4&1/2 hours. I do believe that might be a record.
For all of you out there begging for Mages to be nerfed...eh hem......(expletive)....Since I began playing WoW over 2 years ago, mages have been the least respected (by blizz mostly) caster class where raid dps is concerned. At one time, we were good for brilliance, table, and lets get a lock or hunter in here, sorry. Sustained dps potential has gone up...slightly....so were not left behind as much anymore. But to anyone who thinks mages are op....you've never seriously rolled a mage. If you go with frost you get a TEMPORARY (im speaking to all you crying hunters....yes...) pet who is just as squishy as the mage himself and is nothing more then a distraction with a frost nova (whoopdeedoo) and a very low dps waterbolt (which some mobs are immune to....never seen a mob immune to a cat's swipe...) And....wow...it has a replinishment aspect now, but the raid dps is so low, I know of no one who rolls a frost mage for raiding. Arcane mages: pvp potential is good.....if you can find a way to cast with no mana because your mana shield has busted and left you with enough mana to cast 2 or 3 spells. And, btw hunters, when a mage has no mana in pvp, he might as well dance rather then get raped while evocating (yes i know we have mana gems....one more mana shield....1 shot.....gone.) For raiding, arcane has the potential for big burst damage, but to sustain any dps you need an extreme mana pool AND mana regen. However, to get raiding mana regen you need to be in Mage Armor witch knocks down crit and thus a big chunk of dps....catch 22. And finally....Fire....which i roll for raiding (can't stand pvp....everyone targets the clothies :P) Fire can put up really big damage, granted. However, sustained dps for fire is predicated ENTIRELY on procs of Hot Streak (and i mean entirely.....just fight Loatheb once with a fire mage....and if he or she is not #1 on the dps meter, then that person needs to go to mage school.) Mirror Images.....can be one shotted by a ret pally...waste...and in a raid, if the boss does any aoe damage, theyre down. Not that much of a loss considerin they do lvl 3 frost bolts? And they are completely uncontrollable, so focus fire? nope.... Pull agro and waste an ice block and potentially wipe a group in an instance? yep..... So blizz, please find a way to give mages more sustained raid dps that isn't predicated on extreme gear (Arc), luck (Fire), or completely new (Frost). TYVM
cry dog cry.......
wOOt. Those priest changes are awesome. I miss my spirit buff and now i get to have it again. Yay.
Wow... that Hunger for Blood change is fu**ing screwed for Rogues. That and another skill I had gave me like HUGE Crit Damages... now, not as much <_<Screw you, Blizz...
Hunger for Blood change is... just dumb. Is pressing a button every 30 secs too hard for you worthless sobs? Honestly... There goes Assassination raiding down the train... always hated the style of Combat. And what's with all this DK qq still? It's been months since the class was released, I can understand the qq back then, but now that their weaknesses are known they're not op at all. Learn the counters and move on. Main thing is kiting and silence. Keep a DK from using Death Grip or Chains of Ice (or any other spell) and you one honorable kill on your hands.Same with pallies. It's about time ret got buffed up, so stop crying about it. The classes are basically all balanced right now (besides shamen and warlocks, but that appears to be coming soon), just learn the strengths and weaknesses of the classes and stop posting the walls of incoherent text that make you sound dumber than you probably are.
DK's not OP?hahahahaha good one.
they should destory mages 10sek silence, to overpower in pvp same with Dks death strike, critt heals for like 13-15k? And when are they giving balence druids some good glyphs? only *!@# atm...
Boomkins can spec Furor, Omen of clarity, Intensity and Dreamstate to deal with mana issues, lot's of options for OOMChickens :P
Woot! Warlock buffs FTW
