Patch 5.3: Mists of Pandaria Currency Guide

There are several new ways to acquire Valor Points, including 0 Valor Points from Battlefield: Barrens and 0 Valor Points from Heroic Scenarios.

A catch-up mechanism has been added to the cap, and unlike past seasons, players can purchase Elite items if they have earned 0 this season, as opposed to hitting 2200 rating.

Players who have acquired 0 can also purchase regular Tyrannical gear for Honor Points instead of Conquest Points.

Players can spend their Elder Charm of Good Fortune on Empty Supply Crate in 5.3, which helps them out in the Troves of the Thunder King.

You can earn from non-rated battlegrounds, unranked arenas, honorable kills, winning Tol Barad, or from controlling Wintergrasp. In addition, Honor Points can be earned through completion of any PVP-related daily quests (like the ones in Grizzly Hills).

Players will earn 0 for completing their first random/Call to Arms battleground daily, and 5 per win after.

Rated battlegrounds and ranked arenas reward instead.

Honor can also be acquired by converting 5 Justice Points to 0 at Talric Forthright and Togar.

Sleep Dust: Puts the target in a magically-induced sleep for 25 sec seconds. Only works on humanoids and beasts within the Troves of the Thunder King secnario. Requires Honored.

A Common Rock: Can be used to distract an enemy or trigger a trap during the Troves of the Thunder King scenario. Requires Honored.

Frost Rune Trap: Places a rune that will freeze the next hostile target to step on it for 20 sec. Only usable in the Troves of the Thunder King scenario. Requires Revered.

Arcane Propellant: Consume an arcane focus to launch yourself forward. Can only be used during the Troves of the Thunder King scenario. Requires Revered.

Empty Supply Crate: Place an empty Zandalari Supply Crate on the ground. Only usable in the Troves of the Thunder King scenario. (New to 5.3) Requires Exalted.

Polymorphic Key: Magically reshape the key to fit any Ancient Gate in the Thunder King's Citadel for the Troves of the Thunder King scenario. Requires Exalted.

They award Valor Points as well (15 for 1st and 2nd, 10 for 3rd and 5 for 6th).

Tome of Valor also no longer drops as of 5.3, and players now get the 15 Valor automatically upon killing the Rare mob.

You can get a nice pile of charms from Lei Shen's Key Treasure Run.
