This mount is one of aprox (6) mount's that can be obtained.
However this require you to become revered (if not exalted),

The faction that holding these mounts is called "Order of the Cloud Serpent"

As this faction is fairly new-implented, there isnt much information about them yet but this is the only faction I've passed by and it says that they are the keepers and handlers of the "cloud serpents training".

To my this tells me that you need to earn your honor among them, and doing so they will allow you to ride the serpents.

As this is bought from the guild vendor is there a actual ingame model for it now and usuable? as you can get to level 90 in beta now, just wondering don't wanna ruin my experience of questing to 90 in live because of doing it in beta just because i wanna get this mount and see it :D to be disappointed by no model XD

This mount was originally NOT going to be on the list of account-wide mounts in Mists of Pandaria. However, a decision was quite recently made to change this:

Funny enough, if you go to the guild section in the game, it still says "Reins of the Thundering Cloud Serpent". I was looking it up because I was unsure what that was. Turns out Blizzard forgot the word "jade". Now it makes sense. :)

Please note that the Guild Glory of the Pandaria Raider achievement, which awards this mount, requires defeating the Will of the Emperor, Shek'zeer, and Sha of Fear encounters on HEROIC, not normal. Good luck!

I want to know (and will let you all know when I find out) what the requirements are to BUY this mount. I currently have a level 85 whos guild is going to be unlocking this this week. She is exalted, but only level 85 - and therefore not exalted with any pandaren faction. I will let you all know once I find out (if no one can say here in the comment to this)

You must be level 85 and have Artisan Riding to learn this mount after purchasing it at Exalted with the guild.

Your characters do need to be level 90 and Exalted with Order of the Cloud Serpent to ride it.

Note that this mount not only requires "Order of the Cloud Serpent" to be Exalted, but also the "August Celestial", as it is a Thundering Cloud Serpent.

I recently got this mount even thought I'm not in a raiding guild (and not a very social person in general), so I thought I'll share a little "How to" with others. Basically all you need is a little patience and dedication.

Step 1: Pick a server with high PvE progress
Certain sites like guildox can help you find a fitting realm and faction for your region. The more guilds on a realm with good progress, the higher the chances you'll find yourself in one with that mount available.
For me, Twisting Nether EU (Horde) did the job.

Step 2: Create a character there if you don't already have one
I highly advise you to roll a Death Knight, as they start at level 55, which means you only need to make 30 levels till 85. They also breeze through the questing zones, especially with Blood spec and some heirlooms.
Remember that Blood Boil has ridiculous scaling and will likely do more damage than any other ability will around level 80, even single target and without diseases.

Step 3: Find the right guild
This step can take a while, so be patient. You'd be surprised, but there are lots of guilds that just invite everyone. Chances are you already got an invite by someone's addon while the intro video plays. Do a little research each time you get an invite: If the guild is not level 25 and/or has less than ~1200 achievement points, decline (and maybe even ignore the one inviting you if that person used an addon, so they won't try again). While I don't doubt a guild with less could have that mount, the chances are very, very unlikely. In fact, that achievement value is also pretty low, you might want to set the bar even higher.
If you find a guild that matches those requirement, look them up on the battle.net armory and check their achievements. If they got "Guild Glory of the Pandaria Raider" accept and know that you've done the hardest part!
Don't be afraid to brows the guild finder tool as well (even thought it is pretty horribly designed) or look for ads in trade chat.
By the way, you don't need to wait for the guild till you start leveling, if the reputation is your concern. You will do a lot of quests and hit exalted with your guild long before level 85. A Renowned Guild Tabard from your main will help too.
If you're wondering where I got mine, I recommend the guild "Primal" on Twisting Nether EU (Horde). If they don't invite you themselves via addons, you can just ask any member, they all got rights.

Step 4: Questing!
There isn't a lot to explain. You obviously want both the gold and the reputation to buy the mount and Artisan Riding. If you got the time to spare, you can also learn and raise some gathering professions to help you increase your income an the way to level 85. If you are on a PvP realm (Twisting Nether is), you should obviously be careful, especially in zones like Hellfire Peninsula. Don't be encouraged when you get ganked or even camped!
I should also mention it is worth buying Flight Master's License and Cold Weather Flying, as they make questing in Northrend and Cataclysm zones a lot easier. Once you're finally level 85, it's time for the last step...

Step 5: Getting Gold
The mount itself will cost 2700 gold (exalted bonus with your guild), the required flying skill between 4000 and 4750, depending on your reputation with the factions. Raise them if you want to save yourself some money.
When I reached level 85, I needed about 700 gold more and I had no professions. Just doing quests, picked the rewards with the highest price and sold them. This number can obviously vary for you, but in either case you should be relatively close!
You have a good couple of options now:

Sell some pets - Many people forget that, but your pet collection is account wide. You may even be able to compare prices from your main servers, buy them cheap there and resell them for profit.
Gathering professions - If you haven't raised them before, it might be not worth doing it now. But some ores, herbs and leathers are always a good income.
Continue questing - You can now take on Jade Forest and the quest rewards there are worth good coin.
Treasure hunting - This is the path I chose, because it was pretty quick and didn't require much effort. Check the locations for Treasure of Pandaria and collect a few of them. Most are worth around 100 gold each and require just some riding.
Play the Auction House - Well, if do that on other servers, you already know how to make money. Otherwise... Check the AH for cheap stuff, buy all of it and resell it for a higher price. This is limited to your gold however.

Now you should have everything! Run to the Guild Vendor and buy and learn the mount, then log over to your main and ride it. Congratulations!

Can you purchase and learn this even if you do not have artisan riding? I.e. the restriction is for *riding* it and not *learning* it?

Just tested and alts now seem to be able to ride a main's Cloud Serpents even though they don't have any Order of the Cloud Serpent rep at all.

I'm guessing that the main still needs to go through the rep grind to get the first Cloud Serpent but no way to test that out.

Just got the guild achievement for this the other night, and I was able to purchase, learn, and use this mount without any character being Exalted with the Order of the Cloud Serpents.

My character with the most rep is only a few thousand points into Honored.

I never noticed this until now, but it seems that all of the Serpent mounts with lightning on them --and ONLY those with lightning on them-- actually have little wisps of Eastern-style clouds coming out of their nostrils when the mount is moving forward!

I noticed while appreciating my brand-new Rajani Warserpent, so I checked for the nostril clouds on Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent and she had it too! But when I checked on my only other serpent mount, Yu'lei, Daughter of Jade, I saw that she didn't have the nostril clouds. So, I think it's just the ones with lightning.

As of TWW - this item is showing in the guild vendor as purchasable but will error if you try to buy.

Shows: "The item was not found"

Character is exalted with guild.

Can someone please give any feedback on this item? Thanks!
