One of the old heirlooms, which are being reintroduced with 6.1. It will be sold by Estelle Gendry (H) and Krom Stoutarm (A) for 700g.

Both vendors sell all of the old Justice Point and heirlooms, including the new necklaces and upgrading tokens:
- Chests: 500g
- Shoulders: 500g
- Necklaces: 700g
- Trinkets: 700g
- One-Handed weapons: 650g
- Ranged & Two-Handed weapons: 750g
- Shields & Off-Hands: 500g
- Ancient Heirloom Armor Casing: 1,000g
- Ancient Heirloom Scabbard: 1,200g
- Timeworn Heirloom Armor Casing: 2,000g
- Timeworn Heirloom Scabbard: 5,000g

Edit: Added the 2 additional upgrading tokens to the vendor list.

5 min cooldown on this item seems rather strange.
Perhaps the item cost is rather cheap?

I would ideally like to see the cooldown scale with level (assuming a high item cost) a 1.5 min cooldown at level 80 would be godly.

It may just be me but I really don't see a whole lot of point in buying this when you can get Wintergrasp Commendation for about an eighth of the amount of shards then either do some BGs for the other 800 honour or get another commendation and buy the normal trinket from your faction's PvP vendor.

For those who are wondering, this DOES share the same cooldown with the Medallion of the Alliance and the human racial benefit "Every Man For Himself" even though they have different cooldown times listed.

I bought one to test it and if you pop this it instantly puts your EMFH on 5 minute cooldown. Back to the vendor it goes.

Quick mention:

Getting this item does NOT count towards the Freedom of the Alliance. You will still need to buy a regular Insignia or Medallion to get the Achievement.

It's good while levelling, but can be replaced with the superior 2 minute cooldown version at Lv70. Of course there is nothing to stop you keeping the Inherited one for the extra Resi as well, but it does share cooldowns with the Medallion.

Though, as with other heirlooms, you can mail this cross-faction to characters on the same account and server, it remains "...of the Alliance" and therefore unusable by your Horde alts.

Is the resilience any significant benefit to low level tanks, especially considering that generally the only other semi-useful trinket is the BOA haste one?

Edit: As of this edit, the below is still true. However, as of the launch of patch 4.0.1 it will cease to be, as Resilience will no longer reduce the chance to be crit (correlating with the removal of Defense Rating). So, in the long run, the Resilience on this item is useless outside PvP (where it will continue to reduce damage taken), making it near worthless for a low level tank.

Not true on NPCs not being bothered by Resilience. Resilience can be used to become crit immune, and is thus helpful to a tank (though Defense Rating is better).

But, at low levels without a good tanking trinket, this could be used to help reduce the chance of being critically hit. A mob of the same level as your character will have a 5.0% chance to crit your character. Each level the mob has above your character's level adds another 0.2% chance to crit.

If you want to find out exactly how much the Resilience Rating on this trinket would be useful to your lowbie, you'll have to find out how much Resilience Rating it gives at your level and then find out what percentage Resilience that is.

A post above describes how to link the item in-game so that you can see it at your character's level. Below level 35, I believe Resilience is fixed at 12.5 Resilience Rating = 1%. The formula for 1% Resilience from levels 35 to 60 is: (Level - 60) * (0.48) + 25.

For sake of an example, I'm going to say that a level 19 character has this trinket and gets 6 Resilience Rating from it. At level 19, it takes 12.5 Resilience Rating to get 1% Resilience. So, he'll receive a 0.48% chance not to be crit from the trinket, reducing a mob of his level to having a 4.52% chance to crit him rather than a 5.0% chance to crit him. It will also reduce damage from crits to his character by ~1%, whether the crit is from a mob or a player. And finally, it will reduce all damage from other players (but not mobs) to his character by an additional ~1%.

So, it is a useful stat for a tank, though Defense Rating is definitely better. At low levels where it's harder to find +Defense gear, and especially trinkets, this might be worthwhile if you have the shards to spare.

I bought the Alliance version and sent it to my Horde toon without reading here 1st. When I discovered my Horde toon couldn't use it I opened up a ticket asking for a refund or to change the item into the Horde one.

The GM changed it to a Horde one and put it in my mailbox.

Don't assume that someone's comment here about a GM response means that you will get the same outcome... I was told that the BOA trinket that I mailed to a horde alt (and flagged as unusable - it did NOT transform) was intended to be... unusable. Furthermore I was told that neither a new trinket or a refund was available.

Remember guys; Resilience is now useless for PvE Levelling. It used to give you quite a boost at lower levels, but since cataclysm it no longer has any PvE utility.

If you're going to be levelling up using Battlegrounds - which is entirely possible now - it's still an amazing item. Even if you're a Human (with the excellent PVP Racial) it's still worth getting, since Racials have been known to be nerfed, buffed and fiddled with almost constantly since the game began.

In patch 5.3, the trinket will FINALLY have a CD of 2 mins down from 5!

This means that it'll have 24 more resi than the blue one, equaling 3% resi at 70, WITHOUT having 3 mins extra cd.

This is the upgraded version of Inherited Insignia of the Alliance.
Upgrading to the level 85 version will cost one Inherited Insignia of the Alliance and an additional (yet to be determined) amount of Honor Points.
As of today, there is no set release date.

"So far PvE heirlooms only had upgradable options from vendors--PvP heirloom vendors did not have any new options. We have datamined some upgraded PvP heirlooms that may appear in a future PTR build."

I had bought a Bequeathed Insignia of the Alliance on one of my alliance toons, and sent it over to a horde alt and it transformed into Bequeathed Insignia of the Horde Seems you only have to get it once even though you use it on two factions.

As of 6.1 Inherited Insignia of the Alliance and Inherited Insignia of the Horde no longer change when mailed cross faction.

There is no faction requirement for using upgrade items. Once you have one you can upgrade it from whichever character is most convenient.
