I do wonder why upgrading the scabbard makes the weapon better. Maybe it's like The Ninth Cirri Satchel in Diablo 3 where it's designed to sharpen blades put into it or something?

Coming in 9.1.5, Eternal Heirloom Scabbard - This is the next item in the series of heirloom upgrades, and will require the item to be upgraded to 50 already, before it can then be upgraded to 60.

This token is used to upgrade all heirloom weapons to scale to lvl 40. It can only be used once as it is consumed when applied to an heirloom in your Collections tab.

It is permanently sold by Estelle Gendry (H) and Krom Stoutarm (A) for 1,500g and is also one of the rewards from a quest chain, which is given at lvl 100 by Drix Bassbolter (H) and Fix "Smallie" Biggswrench (A) at your tier 3 Garrison.

Finally, it can also be obtained during several world events:
- Love is in the Air: Sold by Lovely Merchants in every capital city for 450 Love Tokens.
- Brewfest: Sold by Blix Fixwidget/Ray'ma (H) and Belbi Quikswitch/Larkin Thunderbrew (A) for 500 Brewfest Prize Tokens.
- Timewalking events: Sold by Cupri (TBC), Auzin (WotLK), Kiatke (Cata), Mistweaver Xia (MoP) and Tempra/Kronnus (WoD) - depending on event - for 1,200 Timewarped Badges.

If you're missing some heirlooms, the two faction vendors sell most of them for gold:

Those upgrade weapons to reach ilvl 600 at character lvl 100, and if you are into Archeology, are significantly inferior to weapons you get from Draenor solves. Beakbreaker of Terokk and Warmaul of the Warmaul Chieftain are better than heirloom weapons at all times, and can be used by 6 classes (altough you might need to farm second Beakbreaker of Terokk on second char). That leaves you to upgrade heirloom sp staff, and bow or gun. If you are picky about your specs, there are also daggers, agi staff or mace, and sp mace. But with Archeology weapons you only need 2 of those to be able to level any class without looking for weapon upgrades.

You might be interested to know that you can use these to circumvent the character transfer 50k gold cap when purchased from the new 6.1.0 vendors.

After transfer these are fully refundable at the new faction 's vendor, within a 2 hour limit.

1 million gold = 200 tokens; easy enough to find bag/bank space for, I think.

I haven't tried mailing any yet to see if they could circumvent the gold movement restrictions between characters on different servers, but assume they will get stripped of their refundability just like other BoA stuff.

Edit: No, transferring to another character via in-game mail gives the warning of non-refund.

Edit 2: for Patch 6.2, these appear to be bugged for refund. Some will, some won't.

hm... seems like a pretty bad buy to me. On my server, the crafted weapons from Blacksmiths, Engi's, etc... go for anywhere from 500-3000g, and you can use them immediately at level 91. Because the heirlooms weapons don't offer an experience bonus, it seems better just to go with one of these crafted weapons, seeing as it starts off at item level 630

Just spent 30k thinking I could transfer from one server to another and reselling this back to the vendor. HUGE MISTAKE. Couldn't resell it back to the vendor after arriving in the new server.

Just an FYI, if you try to buy this from Blix Fixwidget for 500 Brewfest Prize Token, then take it to Estelle Gendry within 2 hours to get a full refund, she still just gives you your 500 tokens back, not 5000g. :P
