Blackwater Whiptail Angler Enormous Blackwater Whiptail

These can be fished up in Talador. This macro will allow you to combine all the fish in the zone so you don't have to search your bags and it speeds everything up.

I found a spot near Shattrath City at approx 53, 46 that spawns about 10 - 12 pools. the respawn on the pools is very quick. I was able to fish all 100 Enormous Blackwater Whiptail needed for the achievement, Blackwater Whiptail Angler in 28 minutes.

When you get this fishing daily it falsely states that these fish can be caught in Spires of Arak when indeed it is actually in Talador that you can catch these fish.

A great spot for fishing these up (if you don't care about pools and are happy to just chill and brute force it) is 55,79, at the river bend and on the south bank (for those who can't be bothered to find coords). No mobs to worry about, very little traffic.

There are three versions of the Blackwater Whiptail, and which one you fish up depends on your fishing skill.

Small Blackwater Whiptail - From 0 - 700 skill
Blackwater Whiptail - from 100 - 950
Enormous Blackwater Whiptail - from 650 up

As your fishing skill increases you become more likely to catch larger fish; at 950 skill and up you should catch only Enormous fish. To increase your skill use a good lure such as Worm Supreme, or one of the other Special Items that boost your skill.

All 3 versions of this fish create Blackwater Whiptail Flesh when used.

Wow, I thought I was reading something wrong when, no matter what I did or where I went, I could not find these in the Spires of Arak! These posts have saved me more wasted time, and I was going to just abandon the quest. On to Talador!

As of 6.1, cleaning of fish has gotten a LOT simpler. It now takes 5 fish to clean, no matter what size they are, and they now give a set amount of mats. Current yield is as follows, per 5 fish.

Enormous: Yields 20
Normal: Yields 10
Small: Yields 5
