Good luck with this one, people. Right now, the beta barely gives you enough gold from your enemies to support a drug habit. Oh, and just to screw with us further, you can only access level three blueprints by having this achievement. Of course, by the time the game comes out I'm going to be saying something outdated and incorrect, no doubt, but I'm putting it down anyway because it seems kind of superfluous to put these things in the game and torment us with the fact they're right there and we can't get them.

Kinda important note:
You don't get credit for this in the intro zone (Tanaan) right after you take the portal to draenor, or in dungeons. You are good once you take the boat to Frostfire or Shadowmoon.

Pickpocketing works for this, also opening any kind of containers with gold in them, but while in draenor.

Yes that includes things you can loot exclusively in MoP or Cata content, like treasure boxes with the Potion of Luck or Potion of Treasure Finding or regular lockboxes. I can also confirm about Misty Satchel of Exotic Mysteries or LFR/world boss gold containers(up to 100-ish g) and scenario boxes(~35g). Keep in mind scenarios will not be available above lvl 90.

Pickpocketing is might be more profitable and if you got decent gear you can kill the lvl 100 mobs you already pickpocketed for extra lewt. For the newbies in the pickpocketing business, mobs' pockets fill up again after ~5 min, or on respawn (duh). Pickpocket can be macroed in your stealthy opener and mostly works, depending on your latency. There is also a special weekly quest from your all time favourite troll vendor Griftah to pickpocket something like 200-ish mobs.

TL;DR:
If you don't have anything better to do before WoD, go farm some gold containers to have a headstart on the L3 plans.

Apparently the achievement progress counter is bugged. Not all the gold looted in Draenor counts.
For now I think it counts the gold looted after the achievement Welcome to Draenor is completed. In other words, gold looted in the free world. Not the rushed introductory questline. I risked looting a container right after getting the achievement and the counter updated properly. I went and killed a couple of frogs after that and the counter once again updated properly.

I've been using my Golden Moss trinket (timeless isle) since I started, it's given me a good 200 gold or so, so far, which is a very nice bonus.

A handy way to boost this achievement is by hunting treasures. Any gold you pick up from a treasure also counts towards this achievement. Grab and addon like "Handy notes" and just search for anything that gives money.

For those of us who aren't Rogues (with Pickpocket and opening lockboxes, this achievement gets a bit easier), there are a couple of things to help you get this achievement and therefore the blueprints for the Storehouse level 3 a bit faster.

Since I started levelling on my Hunter geared out in raid epics, I used this trinket for a bit more of a boost. Even on a PvP server, the gating and phasing lets you just farm mobs in peace. Golden Fleece - you just need to loot it quickly! It is a % chance, so if you can AE farm - good for you!

I would also open ANY kind of container you suspect might contain gold in Draenor. They all count towards the achievement, so if you're a bit bored or on a quieter server, go grind the old Pandaria rares for the Small Bag of Goods - which almost always contain gold!

It is worth noting that the Stacked Card Decks awarded from queuing with another person do count towards this achievement so long as you open it outside the instance on Draenor. Any money earned while in a Draenor instance will NOT count towards the achievement.

Opening the Heavy Sack of Gold gained from defeating Grand Master Aki for the 1st time, in draenor, is a great way to to get a massive chunk of this done. It gives 3000 Gold.

Edit: This achievement now only requires you to loot 2500 Gold, so the sack alone will unlock it.

When I first saw this achievement, I thought I would just farm the gold from mobs until I saw the 30 to 40s from each drop and realized I would have to make 22k kills, since I can't pickpocket.

Not going to happen.

I couldn't understand how I was making 400g+ a day though when i tracked the achievement.
It was from the looting from my gladiator sanctum. I make easily 400g/day from my bone pile. One hour in Ashran will give you enough bones to place enough work orders to get you to the 10k limit for this achievement.

I know other professions have the opportunity to create something that will reward gold. My friend in jewelcrafting got a 200g drop and my inscription has a chance to make a card that has a rare chance to drop 2000g, but I don't know if this will add to the achievement.

Dungeon looting does not add i can confirm.

I won't be dropping my Gladiator Sanctum anytime soon.

No sure how this achievement works. One day while leveling all my loot goes toward all my toons progress for the achievement. The server reboots and all my toons only show individual progress. The achievement is account wide but progress toward the achievement has me stumped.

Waaat? I've leveled 2 toons to 100, another is at 97, several others at 91 and all I've looted in Draenor is 404 gold? At this rate we won't be seeing the Level 3 Storage building in time for it to be worth doing...if at all.

I will seriously be checking back on this for anybody's tips on getting this quicker but as near as I can tell I will have to have seven of my toons leveled to 100 while looting all the treasures and killing all rares just to get this since I opened all my damn lockboxes from my guild bank 5 days before launch to make room! I think it was 20! The only thing else I can think of would be to run lvl 80 raids to get lockboxes or just sitting in one spot farming mobs like they were frogs! This is such a pain I have all the other ach unlocked but this one and It is depressing. I have 2 lvl 100's 1 toon with every rare and treasure the other halfway and I'm sitting on 2900! lmfao Sometimes I hate these guys. Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi you're my only hope! (in a guys voice lol)

PS: An Idea I thought of was if you have an alt level 90 Which it's fare to say all of us probably do, you have not leveled yet then you can spam running MOP scenarios heroic and regular! Maybe in looking for group section. I will be doing this so keep an eye out for any Area52 Horde toons ;) If you have a guildy or 2 to help out you get a Heroic cache and then after that you get a greater cache each of these have about 25-40 gold so do as many as you can before going crazy! Also you will gain exp from these so until you ding should get you a few thousand. You have to save them until after you create your garrison to open them in draenor or it will not count.

I've been using the treasure map sold by Srikka 1/2 way through Spires of Arak and have gotten about 350g so far. Hope to have 500g per zone. Will update the total amount received later. And a bunch of vendor blues that im not keeping track of.

Didn't see this posted yet but Unearthed Reliquary from the Garrison Apexis Daily Assault on the Broken Precipice do count towards this achievement and can get upwards of several gold from each one.

Alright so the fastest way I got this achievement was to get the gem boutique to level 2 and obtain the follower that has the jewelcrafting trait,

Once you obtain these followers do the daily that they require from you and you can get anywhere from 150-300 gold in its loot reward. Roughly it takes about 50 days to be able to get this achievement using this method, however, it can be reduced depending on how many characters you want to do it on (since it is account-wide). Remember your alts only need to be level 96 to be able to unlock the level 2 gem boutique and do the daily

If you plan to get this by Pickpocketing, I highly recommend the Path of Glory in Talador. There's lots of level 100 humanoids grouped up together. At the end of the path there's a huge amount, 124 of them, of humanoids that are all pickpocketable. By the time you've gone a lap around the camp and the path the 5 minute pickpocket has reset.

Best place ive found for "pure gold" farm is Ironfist harbour in Nagrand, with desent mob clusters and respawn.
1 hour farm there gives about 200 g, which means this achiev would take 50 hours ._.
Anyone have a better place?

Meatgut Needs Bones is a good option for ding this achievement.

For this, i farm the Nagrand Prowler.
5233/10k at this moment.

As of the December 8 hotfix, this achievement will now require 2.5k gold, instead of 10k. Worth mentioning, the tooltip still displays 10k. This is now confirmed to be fixed in the next Client Patch coming in 6.1.

Since no one else has mentioned it yet. The Trading Post is a viable way to get this achievement. You can purchase a sack of gold for 50 garrison resources. I was averaging about 15g per sack. Each sack costs 50 resources. That means for roughly 500 resources you can get 150g. If you have multiple followers with the scavenger trait then like me you're probably rolling in more resources than you can do anything with. As a rough estimate a little over 8000 resources takes you from 0g to 2500g. Chances are you've already made a dent in the 2500g so you will use less.

Without any special buildings, trade skills, or pet battles, you can run old raids via the LFR NPC. Dragon Soul bosses had absolutely terrible drop rates but gave roughly 25g per boss bag. I wouldn't recommend the Deathwing fights but it's a viable option while grinding out transmog gear.

You can use the Gladiator's Sanctum to get this achievement quite easily. 10 Broken Bones at the sanctum = approx 30gold, you can do 6 work orders a day so 180 gold a day added to the achievment. You also get honor points, and if you have the level 3 sanctum, you can get conquest points as well. For those wondering how to get fast bones, just go into Ashran and join a raid group. You get hundreds to around a thousand bones an hour depending on how well your faction is doing.

I have confirmed that the Trading Post has a vendor that sells gold pouches for 50 garrison resources, each pouch drops between 14 and 30g that counts towards the achievement.

I bought a couple of savage bloods from my primal spirits and used them to buy bags of gold in my trading post. Gives 50 gold per bag. Later i noticed that savage bloods go for about 1500 gold in AH so might not be worth it but this way it counts for the achievement.

I must add that Champion's Purse counts towards this achievement.
1. Obtain the purses.
2. Move to Draenor and open them.
3. ?
4. Profit

You can click on your Achievement Button and go to the General tab; this achievement is listed there. You can click on it to get a bar indicating your progress (how much gold you have looted on Draenor).

A bag of coins is available from freeing the people in the 5-man dungeon Zul'Aman. So far each bag (called "Bag of Coins") has contained at least 50 coins. Run it on multiple toons and open it in Draenor each time. I'm not sure how many bags are possible. I've only run it twice for the bag and each time it's been in Bakkalzu's Satchel - the person you free at the eagle boss. According to wowhead, there's a 98% chance it will contain the coins and much smaller chance for the other trunks/satchels. At this gear level (6.0.3), you can simply smoke through the dungeon - and get the bear mount as well.

I came here seeing if there is a bug, because somehow I managed to loot 10,000 gold in Draenor alone even though I haven't even looted 5000g Got My Mind On My Money. Tooltips wrong according to others.

I got this achievement from Jewelcrafting Payment which you get from a level 2 Gem Boutique that has a follower working on it. It gave me 220g-280ishg each time. So leveling can easily give you 1000g, and in a week the this can get you the achievement.

- Since 08.12.2014 criteria is 2 500 gold not 10 000 as stated here. It is only display issue (showing 10000g instead of 2500g).

- Also now dungeon and raid loot goes into achievement since 06.01.2015 as stated here.

- Some players already got this achievement without knowing it. So check, if achievement is there and char is level 100, it is possible to buy Garrison Blueprint: Storehouse, Level 3

For what it's worth, off the SE coast of Pinchwhistle Gearworks there is a boat with a note pinned to it that directs you to follow a few buoys out to deep water in search of a chest of gold. You pass though a fatigue zone but the chest is not in one. I looted 142g 16s 59c from it. It's a sizeable find so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone needs it.

The specific location is 68.50, 88.98 (Spires of Arak of course).
