You can pick between Oracle and Wolvar at the start of the chain, your reputation with the Sholazar factions doesn't matter.

First three quests, given together:

Playmates! - Take your Wolvar pup to the Snowfall Glade in Dragonblight. If you don't remember where that is, that's where you have been stealing other Wolvar pups for the Tuskarr.
They don't remember you, though, as the Snowfall Glade Playmate doesn't seem to be afraid of you:

Wolvar Orphan says: Look!
Snowfall Glade Playmate says: Better watch out!

Snowfall Glade Playmate says: Got you good!

Wolvar Orphan says: Got you back!
Wolvar Orphan says: Good snowball fight!

The Bronze Dragonshrine - Take your Wolvar pup to the, uh, Bronze Dragonshrine in Dragonblight, where he meets his future self. I'm beginning to see a pattern here. This place must be related to time travel, right?

Wolvar Orphan says: Look! That must be Kekek as a mighty warrior! See? What Kekek tell you?
Elder Kekek says: No worry, Kekek. You grow up, be strong for Frenzyheart. You lead people back to old home, where there no big-tongue babies.
Wolvar Orphan says: Hmm... that Kekek very old. Must be elder, leader of Frenzyheart. This good. Kekek have good future as warrior and leader. Kekek very happy you bring him here. Orphan-lady never do that for Kekek.

Home Of The Bear-Men - Now it's off to Grizzly Hills, the kid wants to see the Grizzlemaw city:

Wolvar Orphan says: You think maybe one day, Kekek lead Frenzyheart home, like bear-men fight to get tree-city back? Kekek want own home, not city with purple men, not jungle with big-tongues.

After those quests, two new quests are available:

The Dragon Queen - Back to Dragonblight...

Wolvar Orphan says: Kekek thought we go see dragon queen. This just some elf-lady with funny horns.
Krasus says: Rest assured, Kekek, she is the queen of the dragons. We often take the forms of smaller beings when we work with them.
Wolvar Orphan says: But why? Dragons big and powerful. Elf-lady weak. Kekek want to see dragon queen's real form.
Alexstrasza the Life-Binder says: If I was in my dragon form, there wouldn't be any room for anyone else, little one.
Wolvar Orphan says: Oh! Now Kekek understand. Not want to be crushed by big dragon-lady. Maybe come back sometime when not so crowded. Nice to meet you, dragon-lady.

Always the gentlemen, those Wolvar.

The Mighty Hemet Nesingwary - longer trip this time, over to Sholazar Basin to meet the inventor of kill quests:

Wolvar Orphan says: Wow. At last, Kekek get to meet Hemet Nesingwary!
Wolvar Orphan says: Even Frenzyheart know all about you after you come to Sholazar. Maybe you teach Kekek your tricks?
Hemet Nesingwary says: Well, lad, you can start by readin' The Green Hills of Stranglethorn. Then, maybe you can join me on one of my safaris. What do you say?
Wolvar Orphan says: Not sure how reading helps. Kekek can't read anyway, but if Hemet Nesingwary say, Kekek try.
Wolvar Orphan says: Maybe give up and throw book at animals, but try.

(That's the spirit!)

Next up: Play with your Orphan!

A Visit To The Wonderworks - Purchase a Small Paper Zeppelin from Jepetto Joybuzz in Dalaran (Note: this is a quest item, not the normal Zeppelin item you can also buy from him) that you have to throw to your Orphan, he catches it and throws it back - the item disappears though, I got a second one just to see that adorable scene again, like a father playing with his son - especially when you have the Frenzyheart Brew. You can already buy Zeppelins when you get the Orphan, to play with him during the journey.

After concluding the questline with the obligatory Back To The Orphanage, Kekek will mail you (with a slight delay)

Dear <Name>,
Kekek not good at writing, but learn how just to write you letter. Orphan-lady found old copy of Green Hills book Hemet talked about. Been reading it, learning how to be great hunter like you and Hemet Nesingwary.
Takes a lot of words to be good hunter, Kekek guess.
Kekek want to try out stuff he read about in Green Hills book. Maybe you let Kekek come visit and we can hunt together? Kekek promise not to kill steal.

Currently not BoP. Since this differs from all of the other Children's Week pets, one can expect that it won't be this way on live.

If it does get put through on live, be weary that it might get changed pretty quickly - get the stuff while you can.
EDIT: This was changed to BoP on live, as was expected. Sorry to all those pet collectors... ya got to wait another year to get both.

Not as speculated for childrens week ( though the quests matches perfectly ) as soon as 3.2 went live I got a mail from the wotlk orphan keeper and was able to complete the chain.

Oh and Frenzyheart Brew + Curious Wolvar Pup = pure attention whoring.

Just for kicks I used both just outside the bank in dalaren - inside of 10 seconds the only player there not targeting me was <afk> ;)

Even though the quests to get him are a little annoying, the end result is a little fluffy Kekek that promises not to kill steal. Personally, I dislike the way the Oracles look, so the Wolvar pet is great. Definitely worth the time and the quests kept me doing something instead of sitting around in Dalaran. I love this pet!

I have the Wolvar one and tried also to do the quest for the Oracle pet.
I can't take any quest, so it seems you can never have the 2 pets, only 1 :(
I am revered with Oracles btw, so rep doesnt matter in this case.

Really hope blizz will change it!

You can only get one or the other. There is no picking up the second next year... because I just visited the Matron in Dalaran and she is not offering the Oracle pet (I got the Wolvar last year).
Sorry to all my fellow pet collectors / achievement hogs! 8(

I can confirm that you cannot get the two pets. I chose the oracle one last year, and I am not offered any quests this year, but of course you can still pick the Orgrimmar and Shattrath (for horde) orphan quests if you haven't got the three pets.
It was really sad seeing that you can't get both* pets :( I started farming reputation with Wolvar to be able to get the costume with my cute puppy now that I'm revered, they give us bad news! Screw Blizz.

After speaking with a Gm today those who have been unable to pick up the dala orphan quest after completing last year should be able to pick it up after the Wednesday maintenance

You can't get both.

I did this on my main last year and got the oracles pet but I can't get anything this year. So, on my alt, I decided to go for the wolvar. The message I get before I start the quest is "You may choose to care for an Oracle orphan or a Wolvar orphan, but you will not be able to help both" (I'm toggling in game to make sure I get that word for word). And you either accept or decline. Today is Wednesday so patch day is over. So, looks like you only get one or the other and that's it.

'We are aware of the issue that is currently affecting the Children’s Week quest line in Dalaran which does not allow players who have completed the quest line last year to take part in it again this year. We do not currently have a fix planned to address this issue at this point in time.'

Then the 14th post is Bashiok saying
'To clarify, this issue won't be able to be resolved for Children's Week this year. If you completed the quest previously you won't be able to complete it again for the other pet this year.'

I just managed to get my Curious Wolvar Pup after having obtained the Curious Oracle Hatchling 2 years ago, being unable last year.

It seems like they finally managed to fix the problem that made it unable last year, because I was able to choose between not only the Wolvar questline but also the Oracle questline despite having done the Oracle questline in the past. The Curious Oracle Hatchling was still a learned companion though so they hadn't reset anything, if you were feeling paranoid about that.

As usual, the questline starts in Dalaran from Orphan Mother Aria which starts either Little Orphan Kekek Of The Wolvar or Little Orphan Roo Of The Oracles.

I have spoken to a 3rd gm and hes had a good look at my records and it seems my wolvar pet has gone missing and cant be returned to me as the records are too old and have been cleared, not sure why others in my guild havent got both but i know why i dont now..... i guess another year of waiting for me

Confirming that it IS currently possible to get both the Curious Wolvar Pup and the Curious Oracle Hatchling on one character.

Got the oracle orphan when this questline first started in Dalaran, just did wolvar questline today (Children's Week still going on). Got cute little wolvar in the mail a few minutes later.

You CAN get both. The issue has either been entirely resolved or has something to do with me doing the Mercanary of Scholozar achievement between this year and last year. Happy hunting!

After doing the oracle last year, and the wolver this year, I was not able to get the wolver pet. I put in a GM ticket, but I guess there isn't much I can do about it. Be aware guys, you might have to do something in order to receive both pets.

EDIT: apparently waiting 1 hour for the pet to arrive in the mail did the trick. You can get both, ignore my awful post.

With account-wide pets, this guy got a whole lot easier to get. Just complete the opposite questline on an alt, and BLAMO!- you have both. 95% sure reputation level with Frenzyheart or Oracles doesn't matter, as you never get anywhere near their bases.

Any subsequent completions of the quest line either with the same character on a following year or a different character on the same account during the same year has a different reward. You can only have one Curious Oracle Hatchling and one Curious Wolvar Pup in your pet journal ... unless you already had more than one prior to the launch of Mists of Panderia. Also to note is that once you add the pet to your journal, there is currently no way to remove it.

Unfortunately you cannot get more than 1 of each of these adorable pets. I tried in on multiple characters this year and didn't get any new letters.

Noticed alot of people had issues on the quest to throw the paper zeppelin at the end ( A Visit To The Wonderworks ).
Do not buy the Paper Zeppelin Kit. It will not work, look further down on the page it is an item called "Small Paper Zeppelin" (Requires Children's Week).
This is the one you want, easy mistake to make.... :)
