Inside of the Bloated Monsterbelly is the Severed Arm which you turn into Olisarra the Kind at the First Aid shop in Dalaran. Bloated Monsterbelly is fished up from the Frozen Sea in Northrend and can only be caught while doing the daily, Monsterbelly Appetite which starts at Marcia Chase by the Eventide Fountain in Dalaran.

Location needs to be the Frozen Sea. As a priest I swam out from Moa'Ki Harbor (appr 49.0, 75.0) then levitated (you could use any walk on water ability) then cast. I caught the Bloated Monsterbelly after a few casts.

As long as it says Frozen Sea for your location, you'll catch one. I was at the far SE corner of the Dragonblight, nearly in Grizzly Hills when I caught mine.

Easiest way to find a place to fish is to go to Mo'aki Harbor and then fly North west until you see pillars. If you are a DK this spot works great and I caught the fish in 3 minutes. Otherwise I didn't see a place to stand around the pillars but there could be one.

After a half hour fishing without any luck, i found a Deep Sea Monsterbelly school in Borean Tunda (78.5, 61.0) and got it in the first catch.

Had 490ish skill, and got the item on my 3rd try SE of Une'pe from a pool along with a reg monsterbelly.

You do not need to be fishing in a school to get it. I received it on my 4th cast, with no schools in sight.

I got one of these in the open sea off the borean tundra shores where the icebergs are. There are loads of schools there. Schools are not needed to fish the quest fish, but you can get a small chance to fish the sea turtle ;)

since 3.1 you can fish with any skill at any area in the world.
you will get more rubbish but you need to travel as much as before.

When the daily fishing quest was the sewers one, I took my alts with zero fishing skill, learn't fishing and was able to complete the quest despite 99% of what I fished being junk. It took about skill 100-140 but all of them got it ok.

I did use the vendor'd lures though.

Here's a little bit of advice, be it common sense or not, it can still happen. Take it with a grain of salt: Don't fly all the way out there just to discover you left your fishing pole in the bank.

This comment implies that you have to fish in a school, however you just have to be in the Frozen Sea (look for those words above your mini-map! :D Half hour? :( That sucks!

This is for the people who

1. Do not have a flying mount or cannot levitate from the cliff

2. Are not level 80 characters who have a +300 fishing, I was only 305

3. Do not have coordinates like me

Fly to wyrmrest and start traveling south and when you look at the map, if you dont have it already, about 1/2 inch to the right of that purple blotch, there is a trail that runs into a little place called Emerald Dragonshire. That will take you to the shore. It's not that mean of a place, there are some cranky flowers there and some flying beasts, but safe enough for 73lvl. From the shore there you should be in the frozen sea and can swim to the nearest underwater stone pillar and should do fine finding the Bloated Monsterbelly. It took me 'bout 20 min. to get one. Dont forget about the other Deepsea Monsterbelly, I caught one, they do not have the arm. So make sure you right click on the correct one and have the are before you leave.

I've done this daily twice before had caught it after 2-3 schools of fish. Today it took me over 30mins to get the fish. I finally caught it just in open water, so you don't need to fish in a school. I caught 74 fish and 39 junk items before I got a Deep sea monsterbelly and a Bloated Monsterbelly right after that catch.

You can fish them any where a Deep Sea Mosterbelly school appears, and you can even fish them from the pools.

And no, this is not one of those unbelievable fish tales. Just waiting for the screen shot to be approved.

I have done this fishing daily many, many times and only have to cast a few times to get the Bloated Monsterbelly.

Fly to Kamagua located off of Howling Fjord. Then, fly to the small icebergs located west northwest in The Frozen Sea. (The map shows the coordinates as 892, -3861). If you do not have access to coordinates, there is a picture of a dragon's head on the map that I use as a marker.

There, you will normally find one or more Deep Sea Monsterbelly Schools. Just fish in one of these and you will catch a Bloated Monsterbelly. Open your bag, right click on the Bloated Monsterbelly and the severed arm is yours!

after 30 mins of fishing south of dragonblight, i decided to listen to walker 0314 and went to howling fjord, at the specified place (look for that dragon head on the map). caught it in 3 mins there...

Edit: after doing the daily a few times, i finally went south of Unu'pe in Borean tundra and looked for a monsterbelly school (found one around . Fished the bloated one in 2-3 mins.

For low lvl fishers like me, use a lure to increase your skill and stop catching junk

I find the small floating ice blocks about 20 yards off the dock in Unu'pe to be a good spot to catch it. Granted you can catch it anywhere in the Frozen Sea, but I normally get the fish in my first 5 casts here.

Don't know about anyone reading this comment but I wouldn't want my arm back if it was found along with some meat inside a fish and was handled by some uneducated pack rat of an adventurer who probably threw it into their bag along with a head taken from a monster,food, some freaken staff, and a %^&*ty shield.

Then again thats just me.

ok a lot of comments but here is a quick one that works go to the frozen sea under borean tundra at koords 30:67 there are 5 pools there right next to the big icebergs in the sea you can land on the edge of the icebergs and fish no fatigue and you are klose to the blood is thicker that water q spot from there too

Fished this in Howling Fjord at 64.64, 81.63 (the shattered straits). There were 2 Deep Sea Monsterbelly schools off one of the ice floes - took about 5 minutes.

I didn't see this mentioned in any posts: do the bloated monsterbellies stack so that a player can keep them even after turning the quest in and open the next time they receive the quest?

Or- is the catch a one-timer even if the quest is still incomplete and the fish has not been "opened"?

Now that fishing has changed to 100% catch rate "in schools of fish" at any skill level, many low level fishers will be doing this quest. If you haven't the skill to fish it up in open water, just find a monsterbelly school and you can catch it there.

I completed this daily a couple weeks ago by fishing where QH tells you to. Now I got this quest again and I have had it for a couple days. I have been fishing for a couple hours in the past 2 days with no luck. I have not seen one school of Monsterbelly's and I haven't caught one in regular waters either. I don't know whats going on with this quest but it seems like it might be glitched.

UPDATE: Blizzard changed this daily quest to Monsterbelly Appetite. I had the old one Disarmed in my quest log for like a week...So I wasted all that time fishing for nothing because I would have never caught the fish due to the change lol

Lots of these comments about "Frozen Sea" are outdated. Patch 3.3.3 (2010-03-23): The "Monsterbelly Appetite" daily fishing quest has changed so it now takes place outside the Violet Hold in Dalaran, a much more convenient location closer to the questgiver. The quest still requires a and has been renamed to "Disarmed!"
From experimentation, trying to cast in Frozen Sea will no longer yield the Bloated Monsterbelly (nor will it yield the eel).
