A 6 second CD on this spell is absolutely rediculous. The added raid benefit is great but it doesn't need a CD to keep it from being OP.

I think you are joking..? The party limitation was the only thing that kept priests from spamming it in all situations, and if you see those fights where priest CoH could be used no limit (illidan, for example) it can be better than shaman's chain of heal (which is supposed to be the best and spammable raid heal). It's a fair and welcome change, we'll be able to use it almost every time the cooldown is up and not only they add more utility but they also more healing power via talents (and if I understood it correctly, a bit more healing power via the new spellpower itemization) .

druid coh version of spell. Its heal alot more and it takes only 1 cast, so druid can spam other spells in time when priest is chain spamming coh. In my opinion Flourish is overpowered.

The switch to 21% base mana and the introduction of a 6s cooldown, despite the improvement to make it a "smart" heal and the opportunity to add a 6th target using a glyph still to my mind sees this as having being hit hard by the nerf bat in it's current incarnation.
Granted it was a powerful, versatile heal but I can't see the justification in such a degradation of a primary spell. I'm hoping to see further refinements in the beta prior to go-live, or at least a blue-post explanation to why it needs such extensive changes.

I'm confused. The patch notes say a 6 sec cooldown has been added, but the tooltip for the spell doesn't mention it at all. Anyone participating in Beta able to confirm that it does have a cooldown?
Edit: They changed their minds. Again. Will have a cooldown as of 3.0.8.

My earlier comments were perhaps a little premature. The "base mana" cost for this at level 70 is exactly the same as the absolute mana cost, so naturally it's going to scale with level.
Added to that, the much-feared 6s cast time has yet to appear on a live realm.
Combined with the glyph, it truly is still an awesome spell. So awesome, in fact, I've began to reverse my original stance!
In BT last night with 8 healers, my overall stats showed I'd cast CoH over 4000 times (94% of my healing) and I did 33% of the total healing across the entire raid. That's absurd, frankly, and my fear now is that from being nerfed to the point of uselessness, it's now SO good it will turn me into a single button healer. Time will tell, but level 70 indications were a little alarming.

I hope blizzard doesn't overreact on Circle of Healing just because it's good for topping healing meters. Circle of healing is still hindered in mobile encounters and it is incapable of main-healing a tank by itself. Just because you top the healing meters doesn't mean you're the most important healer.

In patch 3.0.8 this spell is getting a 6 second cooldown. Thanks to all of you CoH spammers that do nothing else other than this spell. GG

I see a lot of people QQ'ing about the 6 second CD being added to CoH. As one of my mains is a resto shaman, I see the CD has being a good thing. Every guild on my server is replacing their Resto shamans with CoH priests. Blizzard wants priests to be good at healing small groups of people with big, strong heals. Raid healing was never meant to be your thing... but right now it is. You are IMO the best healer for any small group and side by side with pallies for MT healing. Shamans can not (and should not) be able to compete with you there. Healing has to have distinction!

For real Nephandius, you say every guild on the server is replacing you resto shamans with CoH priests. If its true what u say then (dont get me wrong) ur server is filled with noobs. A raid needs a descent setup where every class participate in. For example shamans have a raid wide BL.
Even more important i cant see why people even bother to QQ over such a nerf, im priest myself and yes it is abit of a shame. But its not like im better then any other class. You kill bosses together, i will get my loot wether i surpass a class or not

due to the nature of this spell it makes priests the best raid healers with the 40% increase to the healing of that spell i cant see why would a guild bring other healers to the raid its just favorising

This isn't that good. Circle of Healing, has a cooldown, so you can use it every 6 seconds. Not worth it. It has a base heal of 1k. Holy Nova does 800 or so, base. Crits make the difference around, 400 only. If you can spam Holy Nova, you end up with damage and more healing. It might have a higher range, but any other healing spell can do the same.

This spell is actually useful for healing tanks, but not in the simple way you might think of. Its best utilised when the tank is moving a boss/group of adds from place to place and needs your heals which cant be cast due to you running. The trick is to hit him, healing (and probably overhealing) the melee but giving 0.5 (surge of light proc chance) * 6 (glyphed amount of targets) * critchance to proc surge of light. This way you get an additional quite powerful instant heal - flash heal (at a reasonable level of gear you can expect this to proc 100% of time). This trick works for example when tank is moving to the wall when pulling onyxia (he wont have any nearby melee in this case probably, so it's best to hit some other players for more hits), when fighting Heigan the Unclean as the only healer (all other died) and you have cast time debuff, and in many, many other situations.
I dont suggest holy is the spec for healing tanks but its not impossible to mitigate lower amounts of damage when needed.
