In PvP

Ambush is a sick starter to a fight. It takes them down pretty well. Then you don't need to gouge becuase only PvE follows you. You spam backstab, which is good DPS. It's useful when you can't stealth and especially when your target is running from you. Don't get me wrong though - gouge is useful in PvP for many cases, such as a mage casting, some other rogues and when running to restealth/exit.

In PvE

Ambush is still a sick starter, but so is building up CP w/ stunlock. Still... cheapshot isn't as useful if your ambush is used right. Backstab is extremely powerful still - so it's good to gouge and use backstab. It builds CP and hits damage.
