Another straight-to-the-point Fishing daily. Simply head to Wintergrasp and start fishing in any lake. Took me 21 catches to get 10 Terrorfish.

Noteworthy that you get the questfish in the same catch as other fishies, and in 3.1 they changed so you'll catch Musselback Sculpin, Glacial Salmon and Nettlefish in Wintergrasp, all three the reagents for cooking Fish Feast. So it's all good!

Simple: Go to Wintergrasp and catch 10 Terrorfish, it's best to fish in the southern lake to avoid PvP. Bring the 10 Terrorfish (not so terrifying) to Dalaran.

Facts:

Chance to catch is about 50%.
You do not need to cast into a pool.
This fish can be caught at any level.
Rewards Kirin Tor reputation and another random reward.

You can fish while the battle of WG is on just fished and we have WG on conflict :).

You won't get any "fish got away" message, seeing as you are able to fish ANYWHERE at ANY level fishing now
(you will oftentimes just catch "junk" fish if you are not high enough for the original level requirement for the area).

I went to WG with a fishing skill of 10, I actually caught of 2 these fish by skill 25, but got all the way to skill 75 before I left to go to the trainer without catching anymore.

Fished while battle is going on, not in raid group.

Fished just up from Sholazar, first pool I came to then hearthed out.

Since battle was going on encountered no elementals (despawned for battle) or enemy players (they were too busy battling for control) so very easy to complete... Don't know if that is always the case, but it was for me today.

If you are on a PvE server and are one of the people who hate Wintergrasp and being forced into PvP, or just don't like being interrupted/ganked while trying to do your dailies, then fear not.
There is a "sweet spot" at exactly 47.6, 83.2 (12.7, 40.4 if you are using the Dragonblight map) where you can fish in the waters of Wintergrasp without being flagged for PvP combat.
For those without coords it is almost exactly the southern middle tip of Wintergrasp overlooking the Borean Tundra - Dragonblight crossover.

Damiechan, you're my hero. Here's a bit more info on how to get to that sweet spot:

To the west of Icemist Village on your Dragonblight worldmap you'll see 2 small bodies of water at the very western edge of your map. If you fly over there you'll be flying over Westwind Refugee Camp. You'll see a 2-level waterfall, fly to the top. At the top you'll see it's bordered by a long sheet of ice with granite on both sides. Facing north on your map, you'll see the right most edge of ice comes to a point. That point is the divide between Dragonblight and Winterspring. There's a vortex that stands there who is easy enough to kill. After he's gone, you can move up a bit safely and and fish into winterspring. You might get the "water too shallow" warning but keep trying. Eventually it'll land. Took about 10 non-stressful, non-flagged peaceful minutes to complete this quest.

If you a hordeling, then just fish right off the FP, the guards will take care of those pesky alliance and if you do die, just jump down when you rez and start again.

For Alliance, take the FP to Wintergrasp and fish at the lake due South. 10min quest. Doesn't matter if Horde control the zone. More easy gold

This quest seems to be an hommage to the Japanese Fugu, also named Pufferfish, which is a fish that can be lethally poisonous if its preparation is not flawless.

I did this daily up at in the eastern lake on top of the cliff. its pretty quiet up there and good place to fish with out interruption of PvP. here's a map to show you where the lake is. Happy fishing :D

I just started fishing, picked up this quest after about an hour of catching weed in the Dalaran fountain. With 150 Fishing skill I went off to Wintergrasp to try my luck. Many casts later at 161 Fishing I caught my first Terrorfish. While I am assuming higher leveling fishing the better, even us rookie anglers can play this game!

I hope this helps others who might be lower level than the Wintergrasp area...I went in through the Borean Tundra on my flying mount behind the Temple City of En'Kilah near 94.1/76.1. NOTE - you will be dismounted from the flying mounts about 30 seconds after you get the notice you are in Wintergrasp so be near a ledge.

The Temple City of En'Kilah is diagonal to the Southwest Graveyard and just to the Southwest of that graveyard is a large body of water on the map. I tried to land nearest to this on the far outler-left edge of the body of water. I had to fight a few lvl 80's, but no big deal.

Try for the 40.6/76.1 coordinates - that body of water there had a good fishing rate for the fish. I caught all 10 in under 5 minutes. I went there when my hearth was low enough to immediately port me outta there! :-)

There are only 3 ways to get into Wintergrasp:

- Already have been in there, and gotten the Flight Point

- Have a group summon you while they're already in WG

- Have a flying mount to fly over the mountain.

It is impossible to get into WG without one of these ways....People here are failing to mention that.

This may be obvious, but since I haven't seen it posted, here's one rapid method of completing this quest that partially circumvents the Wintergrasp flight restrictions:

Start at Angrathar the Wrathgate; summon your flying mount and fly just over the top of the Wrathgate to the west (over all the spiky pointy bits). You will now be in the mountainous border between Wintergrasp and Dragonblight.
Descend into the Wintergrasp zone; you'll probably land or be forced off your flier around (83.6, 49.1). This tends to be a quiet area, at least on my (admittedly low-pop) server.
Head over to the nearby lake and fish until you get all your Terrorfish. (I like standing at the top of the waterfall; you get no patrolling mobs and less terrain for wandering gankers to work with.)
Run back towards the mountains you just flew over and jog up into the foothills a little bit. There is at least one path up into the mountains near the previously mentioned location that will put you back into the Dragonblight zone and allow you to use your flying mount.
Mount your flier, soar over the mountains and the Wrathgate, and breeze over to Dalaran.
Optional: Try to talk Marcia into giving you that fetching Porcelain Bell in your loot bag.
Profit.

During the Wintergrasp battle, I found a spot in Dragonblight that I could still fish up the terrorfish.

Starting from Icemist Viallage, I headed west, then north to the edge of the Dragonblight map. There should be a waterfall coming off of Wintergrasp and I landed at the top of the waterfall and walked around.

The best spot I found that had the least 'the water is too shallow' messages was at (12.4, 40.4). While the mini map says you're still in Dragoniblight, face northeast and you should be looking at where the snow meets a rock-looking terrain.

I managed to catch all my terrorfish here during a Wintergrasp battle while physically in Dragonblight.

Did the quest today as a 75 Paladin from Icemist Village (24.1 35.0).

Right between two iceblocks there is a strand of bare rock. Undisturbed by alliance or the Whispering Winds on each side (50 yards or so).

Perfect spot if you don't want to flag or if you are not high enough level to go into WG.

Actually one more way if you're lower level and can't find a way in to complete this...my main is a lvl 72 blood elf priest (who obviously hasn't reached 77 to get CW flying & I don't have an 80 alt to buy and mail the book yet) so I couldn't even cue for the WG battle or use the portal from Dalaran at all due to latest patch b/c I'm "too low level," and couldn't get to it from a FP outside WG anymore, and it was still 2hrs before next battle for group to summon...I still finished this daily yesterday w/a little help from something I learned while becoming World Explorer...

Once you pick up quest in Dalaran, wait until your faction controls WG. Starting at Krassus' Landing near FP, jump up onto wall (had to use Levitate to do it though & still took a few lucky tries) and then jump down onto lower part outside the wall of Dalaran--if you can get on the outside wall from elsewhere, go for it...Run as far west as you can, continuing on the sidewalk outside the city walls until you get to the farthest west part of the 'circle' on the outside of Violet Citadel...should see mountains of Icecrown when you look out. Jump straight out and fall to your death. Don't rez! When you're in ghost form, most likely you will still be in Crystalsong Forest at the spirit healer closest to Icecrown so run right to edge of Icecrown mountains and you should turn into flying mount while in ghost form. Fly over mts into NE side of WG--when you're in, you fall to ground and have to run to find the spirit healer nearby before time is out and rez inside WG (btw have to step in white circle on ground to get up to where spirit healer is--it's like a mini-teleporter--took me a sec to figure that out). You will be flagged PvP but if your side controls, you're at least a little better off with some of the NPCs on your side... Mount up and run to lake nearby to fish on the east side. If your fishing is high enough, shouldn't take long to get your 10 Terrorfish... You might get whacked a few times (twice...by stupid human warrior lol & one lvl 80 elemental) but at least you rez nearby with full health/mana to start over again right away.

Then either hearth out, or turn on your 'find flightmaster' on minimap and mount and run to area on opposite side of WG near NW goblin workshop (if you're horde) and take FP out...that way you can get in anytime w/o having to port in from Dalaran.

(btw, since you're going to die and rez anyway and you'll probably get whacked by a few 80s, if you do this naked, you won't have any huge repair bills except your fishing pole...)

Found the sweet spot working just fine at 12.7, 40.3 Dragonblight. Didn't have any problems with flagging or with shallow water, and caught the terrorfish fairly quickly.

The elemental isn't too big a problem at level.

If you want to avoid PvP combat, Horde can fly to the western flight path and stand very near the graveyard at 21.1, 35.0 and fish while under the graveyard immunity buff, Spiritual Immunity.

Nowhere is safe for this daily. There are players looking for the spots mentioned for an easy slap at a fisherman. So fish close to a camp but be aware that high level players will not aggro the camp npcs. You may luck out and get though it during an off time or not.

ETA: This is not needed for the Salty Achievement title but if you want the Chasing Marcia standalone achievement, then it must be done.

Also, there's a nice spot at 29, 37 in Dragonblight on the northernmost tip of Icemist village you can stand at in order to catch these. You should be right on the edge of stepping into Wintergrasp when you are in the right spot and should be able to fish. You WILL get some "Water is too shallow" messages, but those messages are similar to the ones you get at the Dalaran Fountain when fishing coins up. The only downside to this spot is a wandering Air Elemental that comes over from time to time. Hope this helps :).

For those starting fishing late, and use the dailies as an opportunity to level fishing, here are some figures.

I start fishing for this quest at skill level 90. Here's how the catches fell, with regards to skill points :

115+3, 129+53(oh yeah, lures), 134+53, 142+53, 143+53, 148+53, 151+53, 151+53 (one after the other, weird), 154+53, 157+53.

So you can do this quest early in your fishing career, it just might take a while. I think it took me about 30minutes or so just to catch those 10 Terrorfish and a others.

I hate this quest, mostly because it has never been this quest for my server, in all the times i've done the daily (over 30 times lol)

I just uploaded a screenshot of the exact spot, 12,40 in Dragonblight, to fish these guys without being flagged. You'll have to deal with an air elemental every now and again but he goes down fast to a lvl 74, even if he is 80.

The Terrorfish are found in Wintergrasp.

You can do this one of two ways.

1. You can go in into the battlegrounds as usual, but make sure that you leave group or you will not get your fish. The trick to this is making sure that you are in a safe place to fish so you don't get pvp'd. Under the bridge is a safe place.

2. From Sholazar Basin fly in. You will be dismounted and parachouted in. This way is great as you don't need to worry about when the next round is open, there is no group to worry about or anyone to pvp you.

I fished in the area of 35,58. There are not any nodes to worry about just fish until you get all 10 and then hearth out.

I flew to the FP in Wintergrasp, and just headed to the right and fished between the two mobs that were underwater. Got my 10 terrorfish within 5 mins. Plus a bunch of sculpin, nettlefish and glacial salmon. Fishing 400, +25 on pole and +100 on lure.

I fish here now to make money. Can get a couple stacks of salmon & nettlefish in an hour. 20-30g per stack isn't bad.

There are no nodes for terrorifish, they are fished up from any of the watering holes in Wintergrasp with other fish, mostly musselback sculpin.

Was trying to do today at level 70. I believe with how Wintergrasp is during wotlk classic launch, you can't enter the zone without flying. However, if you go to Icecrown and die, your ghost is put on a gryphon. You can then fly over the wall in Icecrown at 43.83 which will zone you into Wintergrasp. You can then spirit walk to your faction's spirit healer and rez. Ally has one by the flight path at 72.30.

Rez'd there and fished my 10 駭魚.

This requires cold weather flying in classic. It's possible you won't be able to do the fishing daily if you aren't 77 yet.

YES, YOU CAN STILL DO THIS IN WRATH WITHOUT FLYING!

I completed it today at level 72. Here's how. (Thank you to @Lovethebooty who posted part of these instructions.)

BEFORE YOU START: Don't try this while there's a BG going on--you'll only get zoned out. BGs start every 3 hours at 12, 3, 6, and 9 server time (am and pm), and last 40 minutes. So you can't use this trick during the following server times:

12–12:40
3–3:40
6–6:40
9–9:40

Ride from Dalaran/Crystalsong to Icecrown via the path. (It goes north through the middle of the Crystalsong map.)
GET THE FLIGHT PATH at the Argent Vanguard camp once you cross into Icecrown.
Ride out of the Argent camp, slap a spider, and die. (Removing armor lets you die faster, but you'll still have to repair it when you rez.)
Your ghost can now fly. Ignore your corpse and fly over the wall at around 43, 83, which will zone you into Wintergrasp. (If you have TomTom, type /way 43 88)
If Alliance, run to the spirit healer at 72, 30 (/way 72 30).
If you don't see the spirit healer: Back up away from the huts a tiny bit onto a low ledge at exactly 72.10, 29.72 (/way 72.10, 29.72). A popup will appear, telling you that you'll be rezzed in a few seconds.
Once you rez, GET THAT FLIGHT PATH TOO! Then walk over the the lake a few yards away and fish your brains out.

There are a couple of level 80s by the lake, but they didn't aggro on me or the other two people who were fishing there.

I have max 450 fishing and caught good fish consistently, with a quest fish maybe every 2–3 casts. You can fish this at any level, but I wouldn't even bother until at least 175 plus a lure. It'll take you longer than it did me, but you'll get them!

I'm not sure how useful this comment is, but for whatever reason I wanted to see what fishing skill level I would be at when I finished the quest if I started the quest at Fishing skill level 1. So I did that. No lures, bog standard basic fishing pole
