We had our first try on Edge of Madness yesterday (as a rogue I'm pushing this due to imba trinket awaiting for me :D ), and there he was, rogue boss
His vanish breaks on AoE damage but it took me a while of shouting on TS to get mages do that, hunters were that tired they didn't even try flare -_- but in the end, we know how to fight him now (we wiped at 2% :P), two groups, melee and casters, OT with casters, bringing him back to us whenever he ambushes some clothie. Was quite entertaining actually.

Okay, we got him down _easily_ tonight, I guess we just were really tired last week after whole raid;

Good idea is to have hunters with pets out, pets keep attacking boss even in stealth (as long as HM is up I believe), so he immediately got visible after vanishing. Flare is good idea as well along with faerie fire, but I'm not sure if these help

He dropped the sword (got disenchanted) and 2x Renataki's Tooth (got one ^^ now only 3 weeks more :P)

Quite a tough fight for my bear tank druid who soloes Hakkar and everything else in the instance without a problem. Rentaki has a fast attack and a gouge which hurt quite a bit. Don't even think about barkskin-shifting out to heal unless the gouge has just happened - tranquility is your friend here too. Keep anything that increases your dodge, reduces your damage, demo roar etc up at all times and he shouldn't be too much of a problem, but don't underestimate this guy by any means.

He's an uber rogue, he has an AoE gouge. Also, he will vanish every now and then and attack a healer/caster. Interesting fight.

how can we kill him? just zerg it? we really don't know how to kill that guy

Abilities
- Gouge - Gouges up to 10 party members and attacks someone that isn't gouged
- Throw Dagger - Throws a Dagger to party members, hits for around 1000 damage on cloth users
- Vanish - Makes Renataki invisible. Hunters will still be able to see him with Hunter's Mark
- Ambush - Ambushes a random target. Cloth users can get killed in 1 hit

Tactics
Have the MT build up aggro for a few seconds, then just DPS him down. He doesn't do a lot of damage, your healers should be able to keep up. If you feel you're lacking DPS, enslave one of the imps. They have pretty insane damage, and you can have the imp as 'main tank' here as long as you keep him alive. There's not much to this fight, it's a fun fight and easier than most bosses. It's safe to say that if you can actually reach Renataki, you won't wipe on him.

His gouge on the tank may be annoying, but just heal whoever he goes for and have the tank grab him as soon as the gouge weared off. He does too little damage to actually kill someone while the tank is gouged.

Took this guy down yesterday w/ my guild PoP. I got that sweet polearm from him. Funniest weapon model in game. =D

Does anyone know if an Alarm-O-Bot will work to detect his stealth? Doubt it, but might be worth a try.

Well, can't be too sure as fight was quite hectic (lots of running in panic :) but our hunter used flare once right after he vanished and then he was visible again. Somebody said it worked but then again not sure if it helped with ambush as my attention was to heal everyone.

Eitherway, it may be worth trying, won't hurt.

Was relatively easy to beat. (Only half raid wiped)

How does one spawn this boss and where in ZG can he be found?

For gouge have a tank in beserker stance ready to use beserker rage, and take over.
For the vanish not sure if it works, as human use the racial ability and as warlock maybe the paranoia to avoid the healer attacks.

Treat him like a surger in MC. Basically have ALL your melee classes surround him. Pour on the DPS like there's no tomorrow. Hunter marks and hunter pets are important in this fight as they follow him.

His gouge can hit a lot of people but doesn't last long. Have squishies run back to tanks if all of them are gouged and he's heading for a clothie. When he vanishes, priests need to immediately fade+bubble to reduce their chance of being one shotted.

He dropped the pitchfork on our kill.

Down today on Frostmane, really easy fight tbh..just nuke him and when he goes AoE gouge it can be useful to have another warrior standing out of range of gouge, just picking it up and bringing it back to tanking position.

I quit playing WOW over this quest. I spent 2 hours getting the mats needed to conjure the boss so the RAID could get 1/4 of the items needed to make the epic trinket. (1 new boss every 2 weeks in the edge of madness)

Problem 3 hours later Renataki was dead and 1 , count it, 1 Renataki's Tooth dropped for 20 people. Since bosses can be done only every 3 days for our raid to get this epic trinket would be 1/2 year of raiding.

I realiized that blizzard was dragging out quests to keep people playing longer and after a talking with a GM . Nothing will change. If you want a great Polearm do Renataki if you want a Epic trinket don't waste your time.

Yes the above moron is quite correct - "Can a hunter solo this guy" is a real dumb question - I'm in BT Hyjal gear and he spanked my pet despite my t5 bonus and then he killed me

This guy is harder then you would think from all the posts on the forums. His vanish and attack thing did 3.5k damage on me as a hunter with some nice gear....gets pala's down pretty quick too. Would have had him if we had more ppl, tried with 16. Bugged on us the first time....he would just evade and heal up again. You cant reset him so when bugged it's a wipe.

Why would anyone choose the sword over the Polearm? that polearm can own any sword iv seen drop in the instance

He's at the edge of madness spawned by the gurubashi mojo madness potion when the renataki of the thousand blades thing in the area says that he "Now dwells near the edge of madness" while the rest say "Some day he might return"

My guild could not beat him today. We had him under 1% twice today, but we just couldn't down him. What tactics have worked for people?

For people that don't know, he's an undead troll rogue. He does all physical damage, can vanish and quickly ambush another player far away, has a short range aoe gouge, enrages at 50% health where he both does more and takes more physical damage, and tosses a knife per second at anyone (even hunters at maximum range) that do about 1000 or so base damage each. Aggro maintenance was horrific, and he likes to one or two shot healers and anyone not in plate.

If someone could toss a strategy that's worked, taht would be very nice.

You need a 古拉巴什瘋狂魔精 to start the event.

Currently this boss is bugged. At the 13 second mark, when he sees his ability Thousand Blades, it seems to have no cool down and is spammed what appears to be an infinite amount of times. Hitting for around 300damage on a plate wearer each hit, but an infinite number of times, killing you within a 0 second window. When I did this with a group, everyone's game froze during this spam.

It has been reported to Blizzard for over a month, nothing done as of yet.

If you are after the pretty sword dropped by 雷納塔基, I hope this helps:

Prerequisites: To summon a boss you don't need a 古拉巴什瘋狂魔精. All you need is to learn - skill 1/75 is enough, which will enable you to interact with objects within The Cache of Madness. So just use your and head to /way 40.8 26.4; to the Archaeology trainer . Then head to the centre of Legion , downstairs in the Chamber of the Guardian and take the . 祖爾格拉布 is just a tiny flight from 逆風小徑.

The instance is only available on heroic mode and has a daily reset, allowing you to defeat only 1 of 4 bosses within The Cache of Madness: 格里雷克, 哈札拉爾, 雷納塔基, or 烏蘇雷. Which boss gets summoned seems to be arbitrary and is not fixed on the same day, e.g. I ran it on the same day with two alts from the same realm and two different bosses appeared.

Clicking the objects around you, you will notice some offer the option "Examine the object". There are 4 distinct type of objects: , , , and only one of each type can be examined. Once you examined all 4 distinct ones, this will trigger the event that will summon a boss.

If 雷納塔基 didn't get summoned this time or didn't drop the pretty sword , just log on another alt and repeat the instance, without forgetting to teach them first.
