actully it was better than vengence for me compared them both on the raid dummy with my paladin. With the Vengence ring I got 3.8k DPS with my own buffs, and with might I got 4,1k with my own buff's. It might have to do with my cloak is an AGI and so is my neck but this boosted my AP alot more then vengence did, and my Crit only droped down to 41% so im not terribly upset.

id changte the proc to a 240 str increase. that way all plate dps would benefit from the ring having str buffing talents n buffs (kings)

who gives a crap what EJ says? They are horrible. One notch behind maxdps for anything real. Spreadsheets mean nothing, l2p and stop theorycrafting. Theorycrafter < real world results. real world results say, stack strength and stop ninjaing leather gear from rogues; they do twice your damage with it, since it's intended for them, and not you.

why don't you horrible rets gem up crit while you're at it? lol, nearly 100 AP lost (prior to scaling with raid buffs) for 3% crit?
so remove 5 strength gems, and replace them with agi, you'll be pro, more crit, weaker hits u guys rock. have fun not breaking out of 8k(max) in a 25 man LOL baddies

You know even the theroycrafters say the might ring is better than vengence for paladins, everyone but a few who think that ret paladins should be wearing leather/mail because they havnt figured out things changed since TBC. Just to note for yall here, our STR also adds to our SP, with the high crit we already get from talents and 2pc stats ect and the large amount of crit already on our gear str becomes better to stack. Physcial attacks are melee, CS and DS. Judgement, Concecration, Exorcism all benefit from added STR because STR adds to both AP and SP equally if you dont belive me go look it up yourself.

A way to make this on par with the Agi ring for warriors would've been to make the proc 240 STR instead of 480 AP as was already suggested by some. I wonder if they thought that would be too good at least for some specs. Though I suppose come Cataclysm talents and stat changes, the proc will have to be changed to STR anyway.

There is a lot of discussion regarding whether or not this ring is better or even equivalent to the +Agi version for Ret spec'd Paladins.

The one bit of info I'd like to point out to everyone who is taking the Agi version based on 'stat point value', is that in a raid environment, in 251/264 gear, you're likely at such a high crit rating that the diminished return on agi/crit makes the increased AP superior. If any of you Rets out there remember, we started seeing diminished returns on crit in BC at around 25% unbuffed, and sharp diminished returns at 30% unbuffed. It hasn't changed in WotLK, and the only reason why +crit after 25% base saw an increase in value is the 2pc T9. 251/264/277 raiders aren't going to keep 2pc T9, lol.

In an item to item comparison it is true, the Agi ring is better based on 'stat point value'. However, in actual usage in raids, the increased AP (and passive +SP) will net you better DPS results (due to the diminished return on crit!). The difference from the AP is in favor of the might ring at approx 8-10 dps... so not a big deal anyway.

So if you were running around the woods chopping down bunnies without raid buffs, the math from EJ regarding the two rings side by side would apply. Since this comes from rep gained from 'raiding', I'll assume you 'raid'. In the end the choice is yours, but anyone who understands the hit table, and proper gearing for T10 knows what I'm talking about.

What is best for a ret pala? 無盡力量灰燼指環 or 無盡報復灰燼指環 I will gem the ring with a 20+ str gem. I've seen many ret palas on my server that uses 無盡報復灰燼指環 Tyvm for the help.
