It is alot better then it seems, at least in my opinion. Much like a weak innervate, 3200 mana over 24 seconds is a very nice boost, and anyone who has raided past BWL even knows that extra 200-300 mana can save raids.

The cost of -25 dmg/healing is extremely minimal for those geared enough to consider using a large amount of this potions.

The drawback won't make much of a difference for healers. What will really drive the use of this is the cost vs. Superior Mana Potions and how often you find yourself in raid situations that require you to chain chug mana potions. Also, this is a guaranteed 3200 mana return whereas a Superior Mana Potion could restore as little as 1800.

Eclipse soldiers and centurions drop this, soldiers have a better dropchange according to Allakhazam. Pretty easy farm with flying mount, you can disregard all the nasty adds running around these soldiers.

This returns 4480 mana with Alchemist's Stone equiped. Almost 400 mana per tick. Send Shadowfiend on a boss, drink one of these and you get a full mana bar back in theory.

As every profession BoP pattern, you can roll for it, only if you have the corresponding profession.

We were doing 3 groups of 5, fighting our way to the quest The Battle of Crimson Watch (or whatever the name in SMV), and I was the only one that could roll on it, noone else had alchemy.

Overmore, you can have skill in the corresponding profession 1, and still be able to roll on BoP patterns.

The best place to farm for this recipe is the Eclipse Point in Shadowmoon Valley. Most of the mobs around there has a chance to drop this recipe. In addition, while farming there you have a chance to get other rare recipes such as the +15 arcane resist to cloak enchant from the Eclipsion Archamages.

Don't belive that dumb comments about drop rate of this. It is really close to 0.1%. I spend more that 12 hours of farming (4 days) mobs until get a drop.
While farming this i get like 170x Sunfury marks, 14 Arcane tomes and more that 20 greens. And countless ammount of cloth.

Fel Mana Potions are ideal for hunters of any spec, even chewing through mana with marks you still gain a fair bit back with this. It is especially beneficial for BM because of the average mana per second usage of 90-ish, this can give you back a lot more than the Super Mana Potion.

This, like the other "Fel" recipes of SMV, drops in a moderate percentage. But the mobs are too close to each other and you should normally farm no more than 30 minutes to get this recipe.

Drop rates are probably off cause the BoP recipes (Blacksmithing and alchemy confirmed, not sure on others) can only be seen by players that can use them. Other people cannot even see them to roll if your in a group. So they probably would have a higher drop percent.

This recipe dropped off of an Eclipsion Bloodwarder for me while gringing for sunfury signets. I was so excited to get my first BC BoP recipe.

I made a whole bunch of these. They don't share a cooldown timer with other mana pots, but the debuff does stack.

I had this drop for me, along with the Fel Strength potion within half an hour last night while questing. In about 4 hours of grinding on the Eclipsion guys, I got 3 Tomes, 5 greens, the fel mana recipe, and 公式:附魔靴子 - 貓之迅捷 (Formula: Enchant Boots - Cat's Swiftness), and several signets (glad I'm scryer). Good place to grind scryer rep.

Because the effect of these pots is over time, you can basically take the pot just after the start of a fight, without wasting it. If you've only used 500 mana, you can take this, but not a Super Mana Pot. This means that your potion timer be up earlier for the rest of the fight.

When you are a Shaman fighting a big boss and main healer, you have a critical mana problem.

Alchemist's Stone

will make this pot a quick 5k mana. Very important pot when you are guaranteed 5k.

it's actaully -25 spell damage and -50 healing.

This pot turned out to be a real life saver for us. In the Curator fight in Kara we were constantly running out of mana way too early in the fight. Using these pots gives people 3200 mana back instead of 1800-3000 so they really help with the recovery of your mana pool and you can also use them earlier in the fight as they give the mana back over time which means your potion cooldown starts earlier.

The drop in spell damage is really minor. When you think about it most of us have a good 700+ spell damage and losing 25 is really a minor amount but that is a LOT of extra mana to get back over a traditional pot.

one side note abotu this pot. The -25 spell damage stacks if you use more then one pot. I used one at the beginning of the fight and popped a second one 2 minutes later and I read the debuff changed to -50 spell damagae and -100 healing.

Makes it sound easy to get, it doesn't drop too often, and as a healing spec it is quite painful to get, I have done 20+ and no drop... yet. Also the mats for it look pricy, but oh well.
