To my knowledge, this and Steelscale Crushfish are the only two fish, that can be used as a weapon. And they are extremely rare, at the very best, 0.1% drop chance.

I got this yesterday during the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza, and I love it! There's nothing like beating someone in a duel, with a fish :P
I'm going to test whether enchant glows are possible with some cheap enchant, and if they are, put mongoose on it!

This item is part of the Stranglethorn Vale Fishing Competition. Which takes place every Sunday between 14:00 and 16:00 Server time.

These are the items that can be won if you are the first person to hand in 40 Speckled Tastyfish to Riggle Bassbait in Bootybay.
Arcanite Fishing Pole and Hook of the Master Angler.

Once someone has won the fishing competition, you can still hand in your remaining Speckled Tastyfish to Jang in Bootybay. (repeatable quest)

The 17, 19, 22, 26, and 32 pound catfish are all equip-able, but they are all offhand, thus you cannot dual wield them alone.

Does anyone else think it's intriguing that you can Disenchant a fish?

Who enchanted the fish in the first place?

Imagine seeing that in real life... Your out fishing, enjoying a nice Sunday afternoon, you see someone else fishing nearby.

This other fisherman catches a medium sized fish, gets his lure out from it's mouth, this person then begins some kind of strange ritual over the fish, hands glowing blue... then *Poof* Fish is reduced to a small glowing fragment.

Fisherman places strange object into his bag and continues fishing as if nothing happened, perhaps occasionaly exclaiming that his skill went up by 1.

In terms of disenchanting fish maces, I honestly think it would be awesome if Blizzard gave them special loot tables that award stacks of things such as shiny fish scales or bones.

Don't enchant this weapon! Just to be funny, I threw unholy on this fish and it doesn't have any glow effect. The GM's said, we know about the issue and are working to fix it. Thanks for playing and sorry you wasted your time and money enchanting it.

A friend picked one of these up for me at the AH. As a feral druid, I don't fight in caster form very often, so as a joke, I wield this and a 17 lb catfish. It's hilarious to see a tauren running through town with a pair of fish.

i was leveling enchanting skill on my alt, so i put a Fiery enchant on this baddy. needless to say I'm thinking it's going to be the coolest weapon ever. but i was hard pressed to sell it, even when i offered an Enormous Barbed Trout to go with it in the offhand! but finally someone in my guild wanted it so I let him have it just so I could finally see someone equip the dang thing (my alt is a 35 warlock and my main is a 70 hunter, neither of which can use maces), and to my chagrin the enchant does not show up :(.

But I had him duel me with it and the very first attack ever with his new weapon after he bound it to himself procced the fiery enchant, which is a good omen imo.

Now I understand that joke in Zinwrath about using "this rainbow trout" to beat the leprechaun like a pinata until the gold falls out. Someone else caught this fish and gave it to me (I gave her a tidy sum of gold back). I am in love!

Sadly, enchanting this with Fiery, Minor Beastslaying, or Crusader does NOT show the glow effect :( It will still proc whatever enchant you put on it (I currently am getting crusader procs by slapping people with a fish), but no glow :(
