Neither this set nor the batskin set need any specific branch of LWing, otherwise there would also be patterns for each branch, not just tribal. There is little leather that a hunter should be wearing, I personally wear the Devilsaur gear. Dragonscale has the Black Dragonscale set, which is %^&*ing awsome. And for the record I went tribal and it worked out damned fine.

With this pieces Druids get flexibility.

Sure I have my healer gear and my feral gear, but what if you have to do/want to do both in one fight ... you get suboptimal results, with this gear you can switch like you want and have decent results.

Some of you might say ... why switching your fighting style while fighting? Because it's fun. The most exciting LBRS Run was with a Rogue, Mage, Warlock (me) and a Druid (just to have something to do while waiting for our arathi). The druid tanked and healed. OMG. He charged into the 4-5 mobs, the mage sheeped on. The he tanked 2-3, the rouge solod one, the mage and I got them down. When 2 were dead, the druid changed, healed the mage and the rogue up and mage and rogue played aggro pingpong with the surviving ... and I just stood there an laughed my butt of.

Bottom line, this is great PVP gear for druids who effectively shape-shift repeatedly during the same pvp match (mixing healing, casting / range attacks, bear tanking/defense, cat dps and stealth, cheetah travel form / speed, waterform, and mana regeneration.. If you look at the Druid epic PVP gear you can earn at BG, it is very similar to these Blood Tiger pieces, balancing stats for optimal druid mana and melee management. I know that in a single pvp match, it's common for me to use most or all my forms (even waterform a lot in AB). Druids were never meant to be locked into choosing only one class to copy and being second best. Being a great druid can mean taking several forms during a single battle depending on what each second requires. That's why this gear rocks !

This is great for true hybrid druids.

I switch forms and cast spells all the time in a fight. You can just stick with feral all the time or balance/resto all the time, but some of us switch strategies during a fight, and it works. It's part of a long-term fight strategy, but druids are definitely not limited to switching fight strategies only between fights.

My typical fight strategy starts in stealthed cat form:

Cat form: Ravage -> Tiger's Fury -> Faerie Fire -> Rake/Claw until 6 combo points -> Rip

then

NE humanoid form: Barkskin -> Entangling Roots -> Moonfire -> Insect Swarm -> Rejuv and/or Regrowth depending on how bad off my health is at this point

then

Bear Form: Demoralizing Roar -> Faerie Fire -> Swipe or Maul depending on whether I have 1 or several baddies; sometimes mix in a Bash or Frenzied Regen to get me by until the baddies are all dead

If they're not dead after all that damage, my mana has mostly regenerated (if not completely), so I just repeat the entire thing (except stealth in cat form). If I'm pretty bad off, I'll just jump back and repeat the humanoid form and bear forms until the fight's over.

I've been playing WoW for about a year, and that process has worked to allow my Druid to solo all the way to level 60 easily kicking all baddies 4-5 levels higher than me.

This Bood Tiger gear would be perfect for hybrid druids like me who run around in feral gear all the time, but switch to healing gear when asked.

The hybrid + specs are very much welcomed...

Interesting.

I play a 60 NE Druid in Dragonmaw. I've been playing for a while and know how to play a druid.

So for those people who say druids should stick to "one favorite form" obviously are left int eh dark about teh wonderful druid world.

Like said by previous posts, I use all of my forms in PvP.

I see a rogue, I root him, hop into bear fearie fire him, tank him to 1/4 health, pop out of bear, give myself a nice rejuv, hop into cat and dps him (all while hes stuck helplessly in my roots), and hell , if its a close fight ill be cheap and moonspam them. hehe

I see a warrior, I charge him with bear, he hurts me (if fury) but alas, i have frenzied regen, natures swiftness, bash, 300 firstaid, all of those talents give me the ability to outlast any one on the BG.

Now, this piece is not garbage, this piece of armor is not useless to druids, it is perhaps one of the nicest blue chest items for a feral geared pvp druid.

While it is true that i have healing clothes and feral clothes, ive run instances in my pvp/feral clothes and healed lbrs/ubrs gruops just fine.

This piece, if balance correctly with others, gives me the abililty to shift more than enough times, heal myself more than enough times, and own people mopre than enough times.

I recomend this piece of armor to any feral based druid who wants to go for the commander gear or even marshal.

Since this piece is obviously designed as a feral/hybrid druid piece, its worth comparing it to the Songbird Blouse.

Yes, this has a little more armor and looks much better than the horrible horrible blouse, but:

Songbird offers 13 str, 13 agil, which for a druid = 39 AP plus the dodge/crit bonus, plus 13 stam 165 AC
Blood Tiger = 34 AP with no agility bonus, a bit more stamina, a little more armor.

Songbird = 13 intel
Blood Tiger = a little more

Songbird = free from Hearthsinger Forresten,
Blood Tiger = whatever cost your server can cough it up for you.

In the end, its a close call. I have the Songbird Blouse but hate the look of it and would consider having this just for variety, but looking at the maths, the only really distinct benefit of this is if you are a 300LW and want the set bonus.

This is really a nice set.

Its kinda nice for pvp but when you are a pvp player you get the pvp gear and not PVE gear from zandalar tribe.

I would love to have this set only the set bonus is kinda crap... but the stats are great.

if ur a druid and llikes to do magic dmg go into feral till lvl 43 cause by then u have heart of the wild and it increases intel by 20% and u'll have good ccrits in forms then u go into balance for nature's grasp .5 sec shorter cast on wrath and improved entangleing roots and natural shapeshifter, then this set wont render useless for its stats i am lvl 54 doing this and i have 3900 mana

I'm 300 LW, just bought both blood tiger parts and the set bonus does not work on them. Maybe messed up since new patches, I dunno. Sucks though =/ They really aren't that special without the +1% crits, they aren't bad, just not as good.

Sent GM ticket about set bonus not working, GM was nice and magically gave me the set bonus and told me that it is a known issue with blood tiger since recent patches. Nice thing is, I still have the set boni even when I'm not wearing blood tiger now =) Dunno if that will be permanent or not, would be nice though.

Anyway, send a ticket and hopefully a GM will fix you up like they did for me.
