Not only is this sword special in the way that it is; the slowest one-handed sword in the game, worn in the back and awesome.

This sword is amongst the few green-quality (rarity: uncommon) items that you can obtain before reaching the level of 5.

Brushwood Blade is obtained through a quest called Druid of the Claw. Its other quest-reward, Sleeping Robes, is also amongst the very few green-quality, uncommon, items that you can get before level 5. Theoretically you may obtain this sword at as low as level 3, but I haven't heard of anyone who has put this to practice - please comment and provide screenshots if you have. Completing this quest is an extremely difficult task for a level 3-4 to solo, next to impossible unless you are "twinked" in some sick, twisted way - not only is it hard to complete, but it has a previous quest you need to complete before obtaining this, it is called The Sleeping Druid, it is an extreme task for 3-4 aswell, as it requires you to kill a level 10 enemy.

Here you'll see a list of the other green/uncommon-quality items you can receive through quests before reaching the level 5. Generally level 5 is known as the level when you have the chance of looting your first green items.

Maybe with 4 80s it'd be possible at level 3 without exp stopping, but I didnt have that luxuary. I'm a level 4 with it :P

That's because it's currently bugged. It says it's 2 handed and it won't let you equip a shield while wielding it, but it's giving skill points under one-handed swords instead. I have the opposite problem with my newb warrior. I noticed it wasn't red and it's letting me use it even though I haven't trained 2hswords yet.

once i got this sword on my hunter i trained it as 2 hand and it didnt work and i realized how small it was so i train 1hand and for some reason its just a 1h sword that goes on your back and u cant use any off-hands with it..... good for lowbie mages/warlocks or really doesnt matter

okay, you need to go in to the ban'ethil hollow, or something(thats what its called)
its best to do this in groups, seeing it is full of humanoids(lvl. 8-15)

its somewhere near the exit, in an alcove, the ones like where you find the four elemental things(different quest)

speak to the guy/ghost thing to start the quest, kill the shamans, get the amulet, bring him the amulet, then go kill his posessed body, go back to him, and get either sleeping robes or the sword, the sword is one one-handed, NOT 2 HANDED, OKAY?

as for the robes, if you're female, go for the robes, the look soemwhat like the one the nighelf on the boxcover has on, only not that scaly. they are highly recomendable, seeing they look awesome.well, i hope that helped, ciao mi amors!

As you can see this sword is clearly bugged, it's
wothless for it's level, and what's the point when
your gonna level faster than a gazelle can run? At
level ten you'll level so fast that this sword will
become obselete realllly fast. Trust me. But it does look pretty decent, gotta give it that though...

oh man i loved this sword back when i made my char... it was such a devirstiy and really matched the "barbarian" style of ym warrior with shield and stuff at that time...

well too bad there not many such weapons :S

i can remember only phantom blade at lvl 44 and spiteblade at lvl 70.

Correction: it's the slowest one-handed SWORD in the game.

That probably explains why a quest reward that you can get a level six has so many comments. Probably most of the guys here found it by doing a Thottbot search for a one-hand or main-hand sword of speed 3.0 or greater (like me :D ) and found out that this is the ONLY result.

i gave my lv 10 rogue this wep and in off hand heavy copper longsword. he looks like a nija cause the two swords overlap each other on his back

ok i was playing on a n00b NE warrior alt, did the quest and got this sword. Now, this weapon is written 2h sword, has the typical attack speed of a 2h sword and is held in the back, however, my warrior was able to equip it without the proficiency, it's wielded with one hand (but i can't equip a shield) and has the typical size of a 1h weapon.

I wonder if it's a "trick" because getting a level ~10 character to stormwind in order to be able to use it would make this reward useless.

While the database hints at the possibility of this weapon being obtainable at the early level of 3, this is unfortunately not possible. To ding from level 3 to 4 requires 1400 XP, and the quests themselves grant a whopping 1750 XP in total, meaning you would, by default, reach level 4 when you finish the last part of this quest.

Despite this setback, the 灌木之刃 is still the best-in-slot weapon for a level 4 player, and it even outperforms any two-handed weapon at this early stage. At level 5, of course, you will unlock multiple superior options, such as the 訓練用劍 and the (凹槽短劍...

This information is, of course, completely meaningless, as there is absolutely no sense in attempting to obtain this weapon as early as humanly (or elvenly) possible, but for the sake of theorizing the strongest level 4 warrior purely for entertainment purposes, we must consider this blade as the ultimate option for any level 4 warrior. For this purpose, I created this character profile showing you the best possible gear set a level 4 warrior can obtain, and I have done my best to calculate what is or is not possible due to experience gains.

The rewards from the quests 骷髏石 and 『大槌』烏薩爾 will only be obtainable at level 5 due to experience gained from the quests, making 灌木之刃 the only green quality weapon a player below level 5 can even equip.
