Finally completed my set today. Funny how I have my full set on my alt before my main. =P Here's how long it took me to get each piece, just for everyones own reference:

Helm - 5-7 scholo runs. I thought this would be much worse, but just got lucky I suppose.

Shoulders - Literally 25-30 runs in a row to get them. I lost count. the LF breastplate dropped 4 times as many times for me as the shoulders. Hardest piece for me to get.

Breastplate - 10 or so UBRS runs

Bracers - Bought on AH for 100g. (somewhat overpriced, but it was my first piece)

Gauntlets - 10 or so BRD runs. Harder than it should be to get them. Honestly, who does BRD boss runs at 60? Good luck forming groups for this one.

Belt - Bought off the AH for 65g on short.

Pants - Dropped on my 5th or so baron run.

Boots - Dropped on my 5th or so balnazzar kill.

I guess I got relatively lucky on a few of those, but the shoulders were a serious pain to get. If they drop for you, by all means, do not pass on them.

Anyway, Valor is for wariors, it gives much more str than LF and that is what warriors need, and they do not need intellect mate...

Pallies need intellect cuz they actually have mana mate, and need a but spirit for mana regen as well, sta cuz tehy need to survive in melee, only LF lacks only a bit str...

But this no warrior set mate, although warriors CAN wear it, but if there are pallies in the group....you shouldn't roll, you can't do anything with the huge intellect bonus or the spirit bonus for that matter...

Valor is for warriors cuz it will maximize ur advantages with a lot of str and sta ^_^

The Paladin Vs. Warrior BS

BOTTOM LINE: Paladins and Warriors are DIFFERENT CLASSES. Why the hell are you competing >_<

EACH CLASS has it's own benefits, pros, cons, and ROLES!

A class's ROLE depends on the type of group/raid you are in!

Both warriors and paladins can tank. But warriors tank BETTER. You cannot dispute this fact.
HOWEVER, there are reasons for having more than one tank class in these games. SOMETIMES, you dont *need* a warrior for certain things, and can settle for a paladin if you are impatient in waiting for a warrior. SOMETIMES there are certain targets where you might prefer a tank that can shield themselves and/or heal themselves in certain situations. Mind you these are SOMETIMES and definately NOT "often."

"Defense for the pally's"--> I'm a priest, and I DO have to say that when it comes to DUOING with a tank, I definately prefer a paladin. I'd rather have the forms of support a paladin can provide during a 2 vs 2+ PVP encounter rather than a warrior. Healing, shielding, dispelling, and the aura's and blessing, are much more than a warrior can offer me in support. I can only say this because I've duo'd with a RL paladin friend since level 1, and I've duo'd with some warriors, and the paladin is my preference.

But in a GROUP/RAID situation, I want a protection Warrior tanking, no doubt about it, bottomline. But in a GROUP situation, a paladin CAN tank sufficiently, provided they dont suck.

And my final word is: ALL THIS BS on the forums about pally vs warrior is ALL BASED ON OPINIONS.
I've seen some BAD warriors and some BAD paladins. ALOT of BAD TANKS. There are lots of paladins that i'd rather have tanking than a warrior who cant play their class. The gameplay is based on player skill, NOT CLASS FACTS. PLAYER SKILL THANK YOU. Some players are better than others, and let me tell you, there's an equal number of bad players and good players, but being able to adjust to the situation is what counts.

The drop rate on the lightforge chest piece is just insane! seriously i have done well over 200+ ubrs runs trying for it and have not seen it yet! March 2005 to dec 2005 and notta. I have seen several epics drops, and finnished Chromatic chest piece and gotten 2 other random world epic drops in ubrs and still have yet to see the lightforge chest piece.

I mean come on when epics are dropping more often there is something wrong.

I just got my LF shoulders today and im really happy. I have been on +50 ubrs runs and have never seen them drop before and i was lucky that it was a guild run and that i needed them most of the paladins on the run. I have never seen the breastplate drop.. EVER... its totally crappy and sucky. But thats just how it is... the funny thing is that i have started raiding MC and started to get lawbringer before being able to get the LF parts.. strange :-/ iut should be easier to get the LF parts than to get lawbringer, but im not complaining...im just happy for my lawbringer belt and bracers

my raid group went into UBRS we weere 1 man down but didnt even come close to wiping once and when we got to the general we took him down easy, and it dropped there was me and another pally who wanted but lukily i won it as my blue:)

Pallies dont suck. I pwne Most classes that come at me in PVP. I can solo just about any low lvl instance. I can also solo elites around my lvl too. One bad thing about a pally is...cant tank for #$%^.

Anyways, Good set for a pally. I would hate having it ninjaed from me. Also, i believe a Mage ninjaed it from some guy in one of the chats?

UBRS makes me angry now.28 times for the chest and still nothing.I have all the other drops but not the chest.The spaulders drop the second time i go there.I was lucky the other paladin have them.But this chest......NEVER SEEN IT FALLS.GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.I cant do this instance anymore.Iam tired of waiting to drop.It takes me 3 hours everytime to complete it.And at the end the druid or the priest take the items.ALWAYS druid or priest.Iam going to get mad or smash the pc next time i go and doesnt drop teh chest.

Bottom line is this:

Lightforge is better overall on paladins.
Valor is better overall on warriors.

Warriors, if a paladin is in your group, don't roll on Lightforge they don't have.
Paladins, if a warrior is in your group, don't roll on Valor they don't have.

The only possible issue I see is a paladin which is full retribution, or almost full retribution. Even then, I would find it difficult to give a Valor drop to a paladin.

168 times I've seen Drakksith die, only 2 times I've seen this drop. I am a paladin and I'm so frustrated trying to get this I'm going for the Breastplate of the Chromatic Flight now, so I'll take whichever I get first.

first step i took into UBRS was at lvl 60 and i was eager to get at least some LF. Really good group too... We got to the part with the eggs and some idiot caused them to hatch - we all died and for some reason every1 left.. and by the way it took me about 1 and 1/2 hours getting group...

I finally have full Lightforge armor set!I think it's good looking armor though the helm isn't the best looking.
To gaining this full armor set took me around two weeks, but it was worth it. I dont think im going to get SF armor because i think it's a waste of money since you can't get them by drop. So i will go for Tier 1 more than 0,5.

So i will next tell how did i get this armor.

Lightforge bracers, Bought from AH for 5g

Lightforge belt, Bought from AH for 7g

Lightforge gauntlet's Timmy dropped from Stratholme Scarlet side. It is a Ghoul that appears when you have killed every scarlet outside the building. Got these on my second run.

Lightforge boot's This dropped from Balnazzar in Stratholme scarlet side too. Balnazzar is the last boss in there and pretty easy to kill. Got these on my third run.

Lightforge Legplate's This dropped from Baron in stratholme. He is the last boss in there. Got these on my third run too.

Lightforge Breastplate This dropped from General Drakkisath in UBRS. It is the last boss it there. Got these on my fift run. And ill say i did like 30 run's in there but killed Drakkisath only 5 times, So it isnt easy to get him down, the main reason is this; well it is an 10 man raid instance and you usualy may have problem to find players that can play theyr classes decentlyand also when you put a 10 man raid grp there allways ppl that need to leave when doing the instance.

Lightforge Spaulders This dropped from The Beast in UBRS. Got these on my fift run too.

Lightforge Helm This dropped from Darkmaster in Scholomance. Got these on my 20 run. This part was pain to get. It dropped on my very first run in scholo, but guess what a warrior needed it and won it i was like omgf where does warrior need int and spirit! warrior should never roll for LF! NEVER! Well after fife runs it dropped again, but guess what now i got a f**ing DC when the loot's came on the screen. Then i think it dropped next time on my 18 run, but then a rogue ninja came and won it and told he was sorry :O. At this point i was pissed so much, then i asked some guildies to come help me get it and finally after few more run's it finally dropped and also the epic staff Headmaster's charge dropped too and we lukily had a wlock whit us that freaked out and ofc he did get it :)

I did 103 Run of UBRS and i don't have this $%^&ing chest.

i saw the LF chest dropped 1 time but i got outrolled by another pally.

Anyway, i got 6 piece of Soulforge and got the Breastplate Of The Chromatic Flight ! (on 103 run of ubrs i got The Chromatic Carapce)
But this chest give me no mana.

i will do Ubrs again again .... i need this chest

Lightforge breastplate dropped.

Two Pally's in the group. I rolled higher but group leader did not award me chest piece.

He said because previously I won a set of Valor shoulders that both Pally's rolled for. (none of the warriors wanted it) So he gave it to the other Pally.

This is really incredibly simple.

If lightforge drops: Pally gets. No questions asked. NO warrior should roll on it if a pally wants it. IF the pally either already has it or has better and specifically says "I do not want this" then by all means warriors roll on it.

If valour drops: Warrior gets. No questions asked. NO pally should roll on it if a warrior wants it. IF the warrior either already has it or has better and specifically says "I do not want this" then by all means pallys roll on it.

I have a lvl 60 pally and i have seen valour drop numerous times. I still use a lvl 49 or so blue chest and, even though, when a valour chest droppped on my 20th or so UBRS run and a warrior wanted it of course I didn't roll. It's for a warrior!

However big an improvement it is for you, DON'T roll on lightforge if you're a warrior or valour if you're a pally unless the warrior/pally doesnt want it.

I've ran ubrs, scholo, ud strat over 20x each..

Majority of the times I've seen leather stuff like druid, rogue, and then lock/priest items. Yes the Magister stuff also rarely drops but I've seen them more than pally sets.

My guild farms ubrs like nothing, we treat it like a 45min run. I've seen dupes dropped two runs in a row at the Beast and Drakk, how pathetic is that?

Both times only a cape and a weak mace dropped.

Then onto Drakk, again druid/hunter crap dropped.

The drop rate for plate items is very low in these instances, Blizz wants you to work for them.

Man I lucked out. On my first full run of UBRS there was one other paladin in our group who had to leave shortly after we killed the beast (no lightforge spaulders unfortunately), and then the end boss dropped the chest piece. Being the only Paladin left in the group no one else needed it and I won.

Yeah, my other two guildies that were running UBRS with us were ticked that their chest pieces didn't drop instead since they were they only ones of their classes present also.

In last 3 days i did Strat (both sides) at least 3 times each, and Timmy droped LF 2 out of 3 times, Baron droped LF also 2 out of 3 times, and i was so pissed when half valor-half heroism warr needed gloves? i left group, and went UD side with another pala lvl 60 who had LF legs allready, and guess what- he needed legs? i was so pissed... i'm still calming down...

On my first run of UBRS, I was the only Paladin in the group, and both the Lightforge Breastplate and Shoulders dropped. Also, my very first Baron run as a Paladin, Lightforge Leggings dropped...but I passed them to the other Paladin in the group, as he had some crappy green pants of the Whale and I at least had Chitinous Plate Legguards. Anyway, I hope the parts continue to drop like this.

i was lucky to get the spaulders on my 2nd ubrs-run, but since then no other set item dropped. i can´t count how many times i´ve been to stratholme, scholomance + ubrs ... i´ll keep on trying ;)

See my first raid ever was on Baron, only pally there and I was 57. He drops my leggings! THEN still at lvl 57 I get in a UBRS group, as the lowest lvl there. Only one other pally, a friend who already had most peices, and the SHOULDERS DROP! My third raid ever, my first time there... im just stunned.. Im in the 7th HEAVEN!

Not to mention my 2nd raid was just hours before on LBRS so now ive got Blackhands Breath trinket too ^^

I would so hate myself I was someone else.. I might however add that I never won ANYTHING on rolls before dinging lvl 40... And that I have seen this Tauren running around with LF shoulders every AV battle (which bugged the hell outta me)

But I need to add that everytime Drakki dies he drop ONE class chest, so basicly dropchance should be 1/8 (12,5%) considering there are 8 classes on each faction. But that doesnt seem to be the case since some classes have higher droprates... And as stated before, droprate shown above are for both alli and horde and this doesnt drop on hordeside, thats why the % seems even lower.

It is "lower" offically, just as elements, because, this is how it works:

Lightforge Breastplaste, Leggings and Helm, the three BoP pieces that drops from a boss wich holds all sets pieces (ei, drakkisath all chests, baron all leggins, gandling all helms), can only drop for teh alliance faction. However, all BoE pieces can drop for teh horde, as well as the other BoP pieces wich drops from a boss only holding one set, ei, teh Beast can drop Lightforge Shoulders for teh Horde!

Same thing goes for Elements, the Vest, Kilt and Coif cannot drop for alliance, but all the other parts, BoE or BoP can drop for alliance!

And if u then try to be realistic, u would have to understand that Allakhazam register both alliance drop and horde drop, and since alliance never gets elements, but all other sets, and horde never gets lightforge, but all other sets, that makes Lightforge and Elements have only half of their actual drop rate writen on Allakhazam!

Paladin ninjad bracers of valor on a mob right before general and when he died he dropped this armor. The pally screamed that he needed it. After some deliberations we told the pally to give up the bracers he stole first, he refused so the ML gave me (the rogue) this breastplate and I disenchanted it in front of him. Highlight of my night :D

Id like to just remind you how probability works for mr lucky and the guy who ran it 40 times. it has a 4% chance of dropping (a little bit more)... well that is a one in 50 chance of dropping FOR EVERYONE ON THE ENTIRE SERVER. that means you should not expect less then 50 runs to get the sucker. However this drop rate is an average drop rate. so some people will get it on their first try and some will get it on their 80th try. Basically, 40 times is actually 20 less then you should expect... so be thankful! as for mr. "i got it on my first run"... no one likes you lolz ^^. XD xP :)... i wouldn't waist too much time on this... go start your quest for lawbringer and judgement... you will find even more dissapointment in a huge raid on onyxia and 5-10 pallys roll for helm... or better yet 5 hours in MC and rag drops lawbringer and somone else gets... don't forget the small drop rate on those also... :) GOOD LUCK!

I have raided UBRS over 60 times and never once seen the LF Chest drop. I have pretty much given up on it for the most part. I almost have enough faction to wear my Freethinker Chest :P.

If you're in europe, you create a lvl 60 Paladin copy on the Test Servers (for battlegrounds), when you get him, he's equipped with the full LF armor, and some blue lvl 58 weapons (including Hammer of the Titans) ^_^

Two nights ago, this dropped. There was another paladin who had Lawbringer pieces (but no chest). I rolled a 92, and threw my arms up in the air with victory... until I saw him roll a 93.

My whole body went cold....

Well, tonight, I was finally in a UBRS group that was able to kill the General again, and wouldn't ya know it, these dropped again. No other paladins. :) Finally. :)

UBRS now is 10-man, some things changed. Drakkisaths room is nerfed by amount of group but remaining ones are improved by level and power. The very last group before drakk is linked now, so do not try separate pull. And lots of +FR drops.
ps. im wondering if LF helm is no like pre 1.6 again?

Did my first UBRS run on Saturday and Lightforge Spaulders dropped from 'The Beast'. Unfortunately we didn't take Drak down... until my second run last night and he dropped Lightforge Breastplate.
