If you attach the Cleft hide kit to these pants (+30stam/+10 agility) you pretty much have the same thing.

In my opinion, if you are Elemental Leatherworking grab Blackstorm. If you aren't a leatherworker, grab these and spend a little extra gold for that kit.

well, I think its similiar for rogues, but as a hunter, 1 agility=2 attack power. so if you had the set of all 3, you'd have a nice crit chance, but you'd lose a lot of outright damage, and no stamina=dead fast. the way I see this, you're lowering your base dps, and increasing your crit rate, which means you'll pull more agg with crits, but do about the same overall damage as you would without them. since you have taken a big hit in stamina, you'll have way less HP. Bigger agg possibilities paired with lower HP seems like a reklessly poor armour set.

The post by DavivMcD interested me. Its suprising to see how close those 3 obtainable at 40 items are to lvl 53ish items.

As far as crit chance from agi, im 99% certain its based soley on your target's lvl(the number in your spellbook reflects the chance VS a mob your lvl) and not on diminishing returns from your crit chance. I just did a little test on my lvl 40 rouge. Heres my crit rate with various agility totals:

86 - 9.78
111-11.17 (.0556)
137-12.62 (.0558)
166-14.23 (.0555)
197-15.95 (.0555)
207-16.51 (.0560)

The number in parenthysis is the increase per agi from the last line. I assume the variations there are due to rounding.

The stormshroud set would prolly surpass the 3 items DavivMcD has because of the set bonuses though.

I am a 21/8/22 built solely for the purpose of assasinating cloth/leather/mail wearers. I've been doing it for a while, and in my bags I've different sets for differnt purposes.

In one case I can pull upto 4k health for MC reducing my dps to a tolerable level. Other case I can pull my crit% upto 25 reducing my stamina. In other case currently I can pull my AP slighly above 700 with my health around 3.3k. Each case has it's won advantages. I concentrate on PVP more, and from my expereince for a 21/8/22 build with CB/Prep you do not need extra crit. The more AP you've the faster you can kill the opponent. Forget abt dodge as u can use evasion at your own free will. With this set up along with Lobotomizer, my ambush is ~= 1.5k and BS ~= 1k against cloth wearers. The highest evis I had is against Captain Belinda at 2k. With these levels of semi-insane damage you can dish out max dps in a short span all thanks to AP. Crit % is good, but it doesn't make any sense with 2 * CB.

I am still trying to improve my AP and achieve High Warlord status. Just imagine using High Warlord's Razor with AP ~= 900.

U said weather u should make devilsaur or Storm shroud. U can only make stormshroud, devilsour is tribal, personally i prefer devilsour its 2 peices so ill compare it to the chest and leggings ( the best parts of SS)

Im a sword combat rogue, so the chance to hit is better for me then the chance to dodge, and ill lose 2% to crit for 21 stam and 64power. Thats just how i see it, if ure some dagger rogue who only cares about crit go for it, but i think devilsaur > stormshroud
Another reason i might like devilsaur more is a guildie of mine makes every 50+ rogue devilsaur pants and gloves for FREE

You guys use maths to calculate damage all the stuff ,what u didn t understood is that it restores energy when u are on rage/blade flurry/slice and dice u do a lot of attacks and u have the % of restoring energy and energy is the key for a rogue not dodge -1% or crit -1% wtf since u can do 2 or 3 more sinister strikes that crits like hell that gives a lot more dmage than putting any stuff that doesn t gives energy since if u don t have energy u can do nothing quite sinple no equations no percentages

i use the shoulders and chest, soon to replace with SC i got 4 of that so far. stormshroud is not worth the time or money to get! sorry if that lets any of yas down but it will be useless soon enough for my rogue. oh use the shoulders and chest but use devilsaur gloves and pants! so much better.

the loss of overall attackpower, the loss of HP from no stam.....I'll take a +17agi/stam with a rugged armor patch over this any day. The bonus powers for havign multiple items are cute but HP will alwyas win out in the long run

Well, i think that these pieces are not worth the mats. Crit shouldnt be considered godly. I would rather take cadaverous chest piece, and devilsaur legs ne day. But if u need pads, those pads are nice. 1 crit 1 dodge and 120 life is uncommon with blue pads. Not so many essences are required either.

Ok, first of all you (as mentioned before) will get many buffs that make up for the loss of Devilsaur equipment, DEVILSAUR IS FOR GRINDING. Also, you will have a tank taking all the damage so deal a little, also, is vanish out of style because I seem to recall it LOSES YOUR AGGRO. My 60 rogue has hit a 2000 crit using Perditions Blade and this set, great armor. You also do not have to worry about armor as a rogue, YOU OFF TANK. Thanks feel free to post more messages

Get both of devilsaur and stormsroud skip the stormshroud leggings.Try to sell the stormsroud leggings if you can make them instead.

Devisaur leggings + gloves
251 armor
+64 Attack power
+21 stam (210 health)
2% chance to crit
2 set=2% chance to hit
And get 7 agi on the gloves from a enchanter.
And get 8 agi on the leggings by doing a turn in quest in burning steepes you need a book and some other things for it and have to pay 30g also to get it. 30g + the other things is a bit much for 8 agi maybe.

Strom Shroud chest + shoulders
289 armor
+12 sta (120 health)
3% chance to crit
2% chance to dodge
2 set=5% chance of dealing 15-25 lightning dmg on successful melee attack not that good but it is better than nothing.
And get 100 health enchant on the chest from a enchanter. And maybe 5% in fire res on the shoulders pads from a enchanter.

And try to get the shadowcraft gear 3 of the set belt, wrist and feet. And the ebony mask from a rogue quest and get some enchanting on the gear also. Then you got a good gear at lv 55 to wear. But it is not going to be easy to get all this so you can skip it and get something else instead. But it would be cool to have it at lv 55.

Well, I made my decision when I was 30, now 45, and still going with stormshround. Simple reason? At 54, Ill have 25% chance to crit. Sure, my life suffers a bit, but as my fun is to slaughter alliance (Yeah, its mean, I know) outside of BGs, I need to cause mass damage as fast as possible. And with my usual cheapshot-backstab-thistle tea-gouge-backstab-coldblood-eviscerate combo, If I get all crits, poor lil alliance is dead before he even got to move (Unstuns just long enough to get evisced, although im usually mean enough to blind...). So at lvl 54, ill have 25%+ (Depending on rest of gear) chance to crit, 55% with backstab. I will of course cover the agi/stam loss with the rest of the gear, and enchants on everything. As for the loss of attack power, sure, its a pain, but in a 10 second fight, you pull out 3-4 crits on high damage attacks, you come out far ahead with % crit.

As for not making money with leatherworking, no clue what server you are on, but I make 50-100g profit per day with my leatherworking, and have done so since I was lvl 30.

(I buy 90% of the mats from auctions, including leather and hides)
I am of course on a rich server, where most leveling chars are alts, so results will vary. (however, on poorer servers, you will sell for less, but mats will also cost less...)

Using this set as a combat specced rogue JUST for grinding up to level 60 rocks ass.
Why?
Because firstly it's no hassle to get. From it you get fair dodge, which, with the +5% dodge talent will save your life vs physical attacks. As a rogue, all that casts when grinding can be kicked/stunned/gouged, so you're mainly fearing physical damage. Plus, you're leather, and i doubt 50 agi will make that much of an armor change. The less hits you take the better, less regen time.

So go for Stormshroud pants, shoulders and chest and get devilsaur gloves. You're on your way to kick ass imo.

and this set looks good. The only thing is the graunlets require lvl 57, making it 7 lvls between 2 pieces of this set.

Most of the other armor sets have the same problem. Why cant Blizz just keep the lvl difference between set pieces within 5 lvls?

I still use these for my fast Dagger, high crit setup (im a hybrid combat/assassin) but ofc I have a nice pair of Stamina A.P. pants too for a more rounded Group based setup.
I think these are a great pair of legs for a rogue solo'ing and questing. This contradicts some people's posts but this is what I have found from using them over many levels. They are great for quick crits, which, if u have sufficient A.P. from rest of your setup, should b high enough to take things down before they know what's hit them- as is the Rogue's way :)
For some dungeons however, its pays to suit up in higher stamina gear with better A.P. your gonna b pounding on things alot so ur gonna want it to hurt when u do.
Hope someone gets my point- or has an alternative (not from pvp) for my level.

I used the set (minus gloves) for a while. I'm an assassin spec rogue. I had the armor kit for 30stam + 10agi on the pants. The nice thing about this set for a rogue is the chance for +30 energy. Now that i no longer use the set, I notice just how much the set benefited me in regards to my energy reserves. That proc'd A LOT. The nature damage also procs a lot!

The stormshroud set is really good for assass specced rogues...as assass I can really use as much crit I can get for seal fate and lethality to make my dps the best I can...also with mutilate I have alot of attacks with daggers in both hands as well, so that 2% energy proc procs alot. The nature damage is just gravy

I think its worth it. I use all three parts and can craft them all on Crushridge so if you have the mats ill make it for you cheaper than AH. Until you have accumulated all of Shadowcraft (which is only marginally better than Stormshroud) its definitely worth the cost to assemble.

It should be obvious from the Energy set bonus (for those who don't know yet, click on the "Stormshroud Armor" link under "Item Set" above) that this is Rogue gear, but what some people may not know is that the Dodge bonus works even better if you're a Subtlety Rogue. There's a Talent (and I'm not sure what it is, away from WoW computer at the moment) that gives you a combo point whenever you dodge an attack. So you take no damage and get your tricks pumped up all at once! Plunk a Helm of Fire on the top and you're ready to backstab the world.

I have a friend who can make this and other LW stuff for mats and I throw a tip to her just because she goes out of her way to get to me sometimes. I have these pants on my just turned 50 rogue and now am working on Devilsaur leather for gloves. While I could go 4/4 Stormshroud, hunting Devilsaurs on my 58 warrior is mad fun. I haven't tried soloing him yet, got him 4 times with a 55 hunter friend and got the skin all times.

As for full this vs 2/4 and Devilsaur, the 3/4 bonus IMO is outstanding, depending how often it really procs. I'm 4/5 mace mastery so far and I notice it proc often enough in a fight I am happy with the points there, and that's 4%. I'm getting Devilsaur gauntlets for the pure fact that I can get Devilsaur leather cheaper than essences (don't know the price of leather but essences are 17g each on my server!)
