You may need to run WC multiple times as the percentage of drop isn't really that great. Also, if you are running with a party (which you probably are) you might want to inform them ahead of time that you are looking for this set of items. Offer them a trade or maybe even cash so that you can assure that you will get these items. For 20-25 druids, the Druid of the Fang set is a must!

Twink item already, but with the 2.3 change it goes Uncommon to Rare. The level 19 bracket is getting a lot more powerful I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. However twinks can celebrate everywhere with 2.3 in the level 19 bracket.

Well I think any twink who wanted to could get these easily, have some high lvl clear out all the mobs up to the boss, twink stays way back as not to get xp. Then comes up for the boss kill.

Actually the best way to get these is:
Highlvl friend runs to the boss without killing anything (except the mobs he aggros in his way, but he doens't clear way).

Then the twink runs until he is BELOW the spot of the boss (if you are a twink you really should survive some same lvl elties attacking you for a litlle time), twink lets the mobs kill him.

Highlvl kills the boss, because the twink died near the boss (and like 3 stories below) he can need/greed on the Footpads of the Fang/Venomstrike whatever else is dropped.

I have a strat. that is a tad bit more practical and can be used in obtaining any peice of BOP gear...
1. Have your twink log outside of the outside of the instance (In the 19 bracket mainly VC or WC)
2. Have a high level friend (lvl 45+ pref.) run with your main killing ALL the mobs between the beginning of the instance and the boss that drops the desired loot
3. Once you reach the boss log out of your main and then log onto your twink
4. Get an invite into the party (and then convert to raid)
5. Run in the instance and run to the boss and let your friend kill the boss and you take the loot if it drops
6. Repeat until you have your gear

Minimizing the possibility of leveling
1. Do all the QUEST that gives you the gear you NEED as EARLY as possible (most of the time you will need help from a friend)
2. If you have the maximum number of 70s in the instance (minus one slot for your twink) in a raid then you will gain little to none, exp per kill
3. Use the same principle above for questing; Get alot of 70s with you and convert to raid so you dont have to worry about

Here is the fast way to farm these boots and the Venomstrike bow. Have a high level character clear a quick path at the entrance and to the right water area where the crocolisks are. Then bring your character in and position him/her against the cliff that is right below lord serpentis (this was easy for me to figure out, as I was using a hunter). None of the pat slimes come through here. Then run the high level character (avoid all other battles and/or looting to save time) right up to lord serp, and kill him. Make sure that looting is set to group loot. Your character will be able roll for the items and receive the items, and will only receive the xp for Lord Serp. When finished, jump off cliff (at lowest point - where you jumped) Repeat process until you get the boots. I did this last night, by using my brother's character, and I got the boots after seven attempts (bow dropped twice). It takes less than 10 minutes each time (of course, you can only run the instance 5 times in one hour).

I can't wait to use this bow (hunter is still only lvl 12, LOL) Now, I'm off to Westfall to get the Tunic.

dont get the chestpiece for this set as a rogue or hunter, get the leggings, its awesome! can't put a 30 stam or agil on it but it has much better stats then dark leather pants so get the pants to form your awesome twink. i got mine on my 5th try for my hunter

the scouting trousers of the monkey with the cleft chants are NOT better than Dark Leather Pants. The monkey ones are at 5 agi 5 stam; while the dark leathers are at 8 gi

To all lvl 19 twink rogues:

Skum and Lord Serpentis can be soloed with ease.

For Skum just stealth to his gated area and wait for the patrolling "Evolving Ectoplasm" to make his round. He oozes right by Skum and theres no way you can solo both at the same time. It usually doesn't take any longer than 2-5 mins to pass by. When your fighting Skum just remember to "kick", "gouge" or "arcane torrent" (for blood elves) when he starts casting his lighting bolt. He will start casting one shortly if not instantly after your first attack. Remember to use Evasion as well. Be mindful of the fact that when Skum is down to like 15-20% hp he will run from you. Try to get off a quick backstab and eviserate to finish him off so he doesn't aggro the other mobs. It's cake if you take this advice.

For Lord Serpentis your going to have to range pull him from the area on the edge of the cliff right behind him. There is a serpant mob flying next to him on the left that will aggro if you just attack. His first attack will be a lighting bolt so if you have arcane torrent (blood elves) the best way to do this is by hitting him with it from a couple yards away so hes silenced and has to melee you. I assume that you could gouge from far enough away also but I haven't tried it. He heals himself so try to interupt him while at the same time attempting to keep his lighting bolts interupted as well using the same abilities mentioned in the Skum strat of course. EVASION! Both fights are pretty easy if you do these things.

So, I'd just like to register my disgust for a moment, and remind people that even though the LFG system is cross-realm, it's still no justification for screwing people over. These boots, which are sought after by twinks as well as regular players, are already a hot item for Hunters, Rogues, Feral Druids and Enh Shammies. Anyone else who wants them... make sure none of the above are rolling on them before you do. Especially not under the circumstances that I lost them after they FINALLY dropped -- to a prot pally who wanted the stam.

I am on Durotan server and have been through WC so many times that I'm sickened with the thought of going through it again. And despite my endless efforts, these godforsaken boots will not drop. I got all the other pieces in one go, and the boots ..... well I'm starting to think that blizzard doesn't want anyone to have them or the complete set. I have killed serpentis till I'm blue in the face, and all he ever wants to drop are the mail boots, the bow, and the cloth gloves. Thats it. Thats all he has dropped and I'm beginning to think thats all he ever will drop. Hate to rant, but dear god its ridiculous.

yeah, i need the belt and the footpads. If you look at the percentage of profiles that where the armor, the belt and the footpads are by far the lowest. it goes like this as far as drop frequency:

most frequent: leggings, then gloves, armor, footpads, and belt.

belt, as you can see from the other site, is worn by .o2 percent or something. The leggings are almost 20 times as much (.5 percent roughly). This is Crazy, hope it's right lol

I love the way people feel the need to say how many runs it took them to drop. I think we need to reflect on what the word 'chance' means. One implication of the drop being a 'chance to drop' is that you may never ever see these boots.

Or they might drop first time. That's how it works and no amount of whining on a forum will change that.

Do you want them to drop more often? Increase the probability that they'll drop? Do you want every lvl17 - 24 leather wearer to have them?

Or just go and spend the next couple of days leveling your character to the point where none of this armour matters to you.

1) Alliance CAN get it
2) the place is called WC or WAILING CAVERNS
3) items are dropped by whatever mobs or boss it says at the TOP OF THE PAGE u know, the part before u scroll down to comments.
4) no, horde wont attack u unless u are flagged on an RP or regular server.
5) yes, horde will most probably institute the KoS (kill on sight) policy if u are on a PVP server or if u are flagged.
6)its okay, u can make it to the instance in a few corpse runs if ur being camped. Just get naked so ur armor isnt broken (from all the deaths, 10% durability loss) for the instance run.

I got everything on my first run of WC. I had my friend helpin and he got an extra pair of gloves, so we got a full set and an extra pair of gloves. I'm on the server Shattered Hand, dunno if that helped me or not? :) Plus I got some of the items not just from the bosses, but a Druid of the Fang dropped the extra gloves.Oh, and by the way Woodydog3....
I got the Belt first, then the Footpads, then the Chestpiece, then the Leggings.

The boots according to Atlas Loot have roughly a 20% drop rate. so, 1 in 5 runs SHOULD give the boots, this is not the case. Ive been on at least 15 runs and ive gotten the cloth gloves, mail boots and that bow over and over. the serpent gloves have the lowest drop rate (according to Atlas Loot) and they have dropped the most for me. I had my 60 rogue buddy clear me to the room with the white gators (where Kresh turns around on the Right) and i sit and the bottom while the rogue stealths up to Lord Serprentis and i am able to loot from my position. i will continue to farm for these because to cap off the set its a nice addition of 10 INT for a Druid.

This set was made for Druids, altho there are better boe items, the set was intended for Druids.
Not saying anyone cant use it.

Been trying to get these on my 19 rogue for the past 2 days now, been through about 7 runs, and got the venomstrike twice, 3 serpent gloves and 2 mail boots. The footpads are just not dropping! The thing that sucks about this is the time it takes for somebody to actually get to the guy, to run up all the ramps to get up there and actually kill him, It takes about 10 mins to walk up to him, after that, you can jump down into that pool of water behind that big swamp thing (Vanden the Everliving?), so its quick to get out.

I've done Wailing Caverns 11 times and they never dropped. My twink can't absorb much more XP and basically I think I'm never going to get them.

I've been farming these for weeks. Over 15 runs now. Based on above comments I suspect the drop rate has been changed. I get everything but the boots. I would be curious to hear if anyone has seen them fall lately? I wonder if they have been removed from the loot table. If not, the drop rate has been reduced to the point I'm not sure they are worth farming. Even with a 70 in front of me it's about 15 minutes per pull because the mob is so far in.

I've seen this one about three times so far & have been rolled out by hunters, who have no good reason to roll for a druid / shaman armor set. Frustration doesn't even begin to describe how angry I have become towards the Noobies in the barrens X( If you are new to the game or not a druid / shaman dont roll for this set EVER, keep the population of idiots down for all of us.

well....i think that this set is for shamys/druids....but hunters/rogues can use,at least all the items,cos they gives u stam/agi/strgh.....and only +int as bonus(ding dong-->hunters don´t have mana?)so,if u r not ABSOLUTELY sure that u´r going to complete the set....let hunters/rogues roll for it

Ok, so I found the gloves on AH for 10s... so I bought them. My lv 45 friend came on and with help from a 60 rogue, Inko(thanks man!) I was able to get my cresent staff and the leg and chest piece. My friend and i might be going back for the rest. If anyone on scarlet crusade wishes to help me complete my set, pst Morzorn Im lv 17 now, will be 18 soon enough. I really want the set because it gives +10 to int, plus all the other stuff it gives. and it just looks @#$%ing awesome.

Arguably the best Rogue boots for 19, as the 3 set for expertise can be attained without too much of a stat sacrifice.

Spent 4 weeks running a twink to a boss, killing it, and not getting the boots... Was running to the wrong boss. :S
