The stones can be found at about 43, 15 just south of the river like the quest says. The second half of the quest is at 25, 15 at the top of the tower located there.

As the picture indicates, the stone you are looking for is blue, not red as the quest text states.

It's not really clear, but just so folks know the cords listed above are for the Ghostlands.. Also its a blue stone, when you pickup the stone it will tell you what to do next.

this quest was so hard, i know for some its easy but ive never played a caster before and damn i died a heap. Any how i ended up dieing at the bottom of the stairs and rezzing at the top killed the 2 guards in the room.

then summoned the void walker (had a health stone ready, Killed it and ran as fast as i could to the bridge and out of there. Mobs in the area are Melee type class with melee damage so hits extra on cloth (us warlocks) They are immune to Fear so you cannot crowd control.

Essentially this quest was designed to prove that you need a tank at your side AKA Void walker. So the moral of the story is 'Use your void walker to take the damage'

Anyhow just my 2 cents

Completed this quest at level 40 and go 4350 xp, I bet it's even higher if you complete it later, same goes for the next quest in the chain.

Just to make sure everyone is aware -- the stone is located in the GHOSTLANDS. I spent ages running round in Eversong trying to find it, but it isn't there ^^

43,6 - 16,5 is where I found the Void Stone.
Just so everyone knows, There is more than one stone to pick, and the stones are BLUE!

This quest was a bit tricky. I spend ages trying to find the coord on the mapl, until i realized the stone was located in the GHOSTLANDS.
So I followed the river to the ghostlands, and there they were :)

Quick question guys, due to complications I had to abandon this quest, but I would like to do it again. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get this quest once more, because Talionia is not offering the quest anymore.

Note that you cannot begin this quest line if you're any race but Blood Elf. If, like me, you're an Undead who headed over to the Silvermoon area to level from 6+, the Warlock trainer will send you back to Undercity to complete the Undead version of this quest. Not too bad considering how close Undercity is, but perhaps much worse if you're an Orc.

The stones for this quest are NOT just south of the stream that crosses the Dead Scar in Eversong Woods. It's in the Ghostlands.

The river mentioned isint the one u would think (in the middle of the zone) you have to go all the way just across the river into Ghostlands

You must continue south through the dark mark like it says, Run past the first river, then past the second and you well be in the Ghoast Lands.

Go over some small falls and around you will be Blue stones on the LAND. Dont forget they are BLUE and not red. Get one and it will tell you what to do next.

Go across the river that leads into the Ghostlands There should be a little waterfall, go down to it and there will be glowing little BLUE stones. Why the quest says they're red but they are actually blue I couldn't tell you. Pick it up and it will tell you what to do next.

For those that don't like to read, and have map coords, I found mine at 44,15 in the Ghostlands.

Just go directly south from the city, down the dead scar. You'll cross the river and there will be Blue stones right there. take one, and walk west to goldenmist village and you can summon your voidwalker.

I just finished this quest last night at lvl 10. Yes.. I had to fight level 11 mobs and yes I lost my imp a few time.. and I even died once. But eventually I was able to fight my way to the top of the middle building and defeat the summoned voidwalker... .in fact, fighting the VW was the easy part. =)

You just have to be patient with this one and you will get your reward at the end.

So, right after you pass the bridge to Ghostlands, take a right, follow the river down and theres the continuation of deadscar. They are EVERYWHERE by the little waterfall.

Guys, it's really simple. The quest says "Elrendar River."

That isn't the one in the middle of your map. It's the river that seperates the Eversong Woods FROM the GHOSTLANDS.

If you cross over the river into the Ghostlands, keep walking along the river to your RIGHT (west side of the map), there will be the Dead Scar.

I picked up a stone without even coming close to picking up aggro from the undead things.

43.15 go into the the trees with green glowing lobs, walk downt the hill, turn around you will see a water fall, if you havent already seen the BLUE stones.

This quest was quit frustrating since it makes no mention of going into Ghostlands and the color is incorrect. The color issue is listed in the known bugs (authored by a Blizzard poster) for 2.0.x on the WoW forums.

I found the stone in the river that divides the Ghostlands from Silvermoon Forest.

When u see the bridge go south to that and there will be a empty stream with just a bit of water..

i found the stone at 44,15

remember its NOT in Silvermoon.

Its in the GHOSTLANDS!

Yeah, I mean - HELLO - she says blue right in the quest instructions. I did this quest today, and they are blue - very very blue. No mistake, not kidding. It kind of makes sense, too, since the voidwalkers are blue and these are void stones. Now, gallstones - they're red. ^_^

By the way, for those of you working on the quest, if you die inside the building the best thing to do is go on upstairs as a ghost and rez in an out of the way place up there (like the ledge on the other side of the room). Then you don't have to fight your way through the other floors.

the stones themselves now have the yellow question marks over their heads as they are objectives of a quest. you can use this to find out where they are.

After defeating the Voidwalker i tried to summon him but it says i need a Soulshard. does anyone know where to find one?

Wish I would have found this earlier...I looked for so long and asked people but no one would help me. I would like to add that the coords are right and some people try to fool you by saying that it is still eversong woods but it is in ghostlands.

For the guy above me...if you already haven't figured it out when you use your soul drain and kill the target while using it you obtain a soul shard. :) hope that helps.

Again, confirming coordinates. I saw at least four Blue stones lying around easily pciakble. A few lvl 10 undead are in the area, but easy to dispatch them if needed.

If you read the quest correctly it doesn't say its in eversong woods so don't expect to find them there xD Co-ords are correct and they are blue not red

coords = 42,15 - GHOSTLANDS

This quest is a bit tricky, as the quest log tells red glowing stones, but its blue glowing stones, and they are small - around the size of a Belfs head.
Also the stones are to be found south of the two rivers = north part of Dead Scar in ghostlands.

Okay, I'm not going to get into the debate. I just picked up the stone under my BloodElf Warlock and it was blue in color. I'm not sure if the quest log has been updated, but I found so many of these stones just past the river in Ghostlands : middle of Dead Scar.. They were all blue and the one I picked up stayed blue in my bag..

Didn't see any after the first river, but there are a bunch after the second crossing into the Ghostlands. 44, 15 is correct.

Now, I've played a warlock before, so I know that I need to go to my trainer in the city to get my voidwalker. On my first lock, however, when I hit level 10, the trainer gave me a quest to head to the city. My question is, since there is no such quest here, what happens for the people that either have never played a lock before, or this is their first char ever, and don't even know what a voidwalker is?

Don't like the way this was set up, with no quest to send you to the city to get the voidwalker quest.

Just did this quest tonight. The RED stones on the ground just south of the southern river between Eversong and the Ghostlands. When I got to that southern river I discovered the area named 'The Dead Scar'. Even though I had been running up and down the dead scar in the middle of Eversong zone, I did not discover that area until I went to that southern river. And yes, the stone does turn blue once you loot it. But on the ground they are red. Can't miss them once you get to the area I just spoke of.

The stones are red when you pick them off the ground, but they turn blue when you put them inside your bag.

I don't know what you guys are smoking, but they are red, and found them at 42, 15 in the Ghostlands, just across the river, there are lots of them spread out on the ground.

The confusion here is from the *Green* soil samples used in the quest given by Apprentice Mirveda near the East Sanctum..........

If this is where you are, than you need to go further south across the next river.

Just to clarify the colour question. The stones are glowing RED when seen in the ground and the stone is BLUE when picked up. The stones in the ground are smallish but the glowing gives them away.

I also found several of these stones just south of the second river at 45, 94. The very north end of Ghostlands, several yards from the river. Much easier to get these then go all the way south in Ghostlands to the 42, 15 Coords given previously.

I accidentally deleted my voidstone before i turned in the quest to the trainer... is there any way of picking up a new one? I tried a few but it wouldn't work....

There is no pre-quest other than if you went to your class warlock trainer in the town, he'll tell you to go into the city and find the class warlock trainer in there.

Basing this on Blood Elf warlocks, I'm guessing this quest doesn't follow other race warlocks:

* At Falconwing Square, the warlock trainer tells you to go to Silvermoon City and seek out the warlock trainer there. He's in 'Murder Square', interesting name by the way.

* The warlock trainer at Silvermoon City asks you to seek out a blue stone. Follow the Dead Scar down to Elrendar River (This is located in Ghostlands) not the first river. Basing this on I just started being a Blood Elf Warlock.

** If you haven't been to Ghostlands yet, continue on the road going south past Fairbreeze Village. You can also do Defending Fairbreeze Village while you're there.

* When you enter Ghostlands you're at Elrendar Crossing. Go back over to the Dead Scar and walk south along it.

* Blizzard was kind enough to add ? marks all over the 'Blue Glowing Shards' so you can take your pick and get one.

Although the quest says that the stones are red, they are actually blue, and clearly labeled 'Voidstone.' Picking one up allows you to continue to the next part of the quest, The Rune of Summoning.

The Stone

Obtain a Voidstone from the Dead Scar.

Description

While I'm certain your imp has proven a useful and sometimes entertaining servant, it is time you mastered a more powerful demon: the voidwalker.

Travel down the Dead Scar until it is crossed by the Elrendar River. Just south of the river, locate one of the blue glowing stones and take it. Your path will be revealed there.
