The minimum level to get one of the "Call To Arms" daily pvp quests are whatever is the minimum to enter the associated background.

So that means: Call to Arms: Warsong Gulch has a Minimum level of 10
Call to Arms: Arathi Basin has a Minimum Level of 20.
Call to Arms: Alterac Valley has a minimum of 50.
Call to Arms: Eye of the Storm has a min of 61.

There is only one Battleground Call To Arms per day... and it's independent of your level... in order to basically have one Daily PvP quest available every day, you need to be at least Level 61.

These Dailies, and Hellfire Fortifications make up all the list of available daily quests prior to level 70.

As with all Daily Quests, these quests don't need to be done when you pick them up, but you cannot pick up any other Daily of the same category until A) you complete this for the Daily quota, or B) you abandon the quest.

Note, you get a decent amount of XP and a bit of coin for doing these quests. Twinks would want to steer clear of these as a result.

This, Call to Arms: Alterac Valley, is the second version of the quest, which is required to get Call to Arms!. The original differs in the quest text:

"Win an Alterac Valley battleground match and return to a Horde Warbringer at any Horde capital city, Dalaran or Shattrath."
"Win an Alterac Valley battleground match and return to a Horde Warbringer at any Horde capital city, Wintergrasp, Dalaran, or Shattrath."

The 2nd quest was added with WOTLK. Blizzard must have made the 1st quest a prerequisite for getting the 2nd. So if you haven't done the original Call to Arms: Alterac Valley, you'll need to do that one first before getting the 2nd, which is the one that counts toward the achievement.

For anyone who was around during TBC, this shouldn't be a problem, because you've probably done the original at some point or another. But for others, like me, who did the original version of Call to Arms: Alterac Valley and were confused why we didn't get credit toward the achievement Call to Arms!, this is why.

After the Phase 3 patch changes, this quest now gives 943 honor compared to before.

Description

We've recently come extremely close to driving the Stormpike invaders from Alterac Valley. As a result we're redirecting all our reinforcements to aid the Frostwolf Clan.

A decisive victory there would free up the resources we need to crush the Alliance scum on all the other battlefronts.

Go, <name>. Earn great honor by heeding the call of the brave Frostwolf warriors.
