Gor'gaz Outpost can be found at coords 45,76. Just slightly north of the Warp Fields. There are not a lot of Orcs in the area, though they respawn fast enough, so there will be competition for the spirits.

It may have been an error on my part, but only the Shattered Hand Beserkers would reveal fel spirits when they died. Not the other kind. So keep that in mind if you want to move to a less crowded area.

On the upside, these mobs drop nice coin (20-50 silver each). If you are in the mood to grind out those first few levels, and the berserkers are not being overfarmed, Gor'gaz Outpost is the place to go.

Solo'd this with my 61 prot warrior this morning. Drop the relic at the edge of Gor'gaz, if a blue lightening strand reaches out and attaches to the orcs before you pull, you are good to go.

Any orc that is attached to a blue lightening strand will make a spirit, so be sure to drag the orc close to the relic until you see this

The spirits will die on their own if you avoid fighting them for too long, and you won't get credit for the kill. Found this out by polymorph-chaining to regen mana, and the spirit eventually just dropped dead.

Also, don't be distracted by the fact that you can click on the Anchorite Relics. Despite Blizzard's mistake of making your cursor change to the gear icon on them, clicking on the relics doesn't do anything.

And to reinforce what Gandalug said, only the berserkers will release spirits upon death.

I've had problems to do it as a 59 Frost Mage. They resisted a lot to my spells. I suggest not to solo it before level 60, unless you're really sure of what you're doing.

Gor'Gaz Outpost - 75.45

Put the relic bunny down, pull an orc towards it then kill that orc, then after it dies the spirit will be summoned, kill that..

10 times and you're done.

I found it easier to place the relic on the edge of the camp and pull the beserkers back to it. Once they are in range, the relic will send out the blue beam and the spirit will be summoned on the death of the beserker. This prevents the relic from sending out beams to any orc in range and therefore pulling too many than you can cope with.

I cant believe they nerfed this quest :'( The Anchorite Relic was AWESOME for hanging around town in Ironforge. Malcovitch was the name to know in lockpicking on Moonrunner in no small part because of it. /sigh

Now you can't even use it on the Southern Ramparts orcs.

One thing the berserkers do which is really annoying for hunters is use intercept. They kept knocking me down even though my pet had full agro, so be prepared to get fustrated over this...

This quest gets very annoying after the first few kills. the Shattered Hand Beserkers can knock you back and stun you for a few seconds. Try not to drag that many at a time or this quest would be nearly impossible for a hunter under 60.

whoever said these r good to farm is stupid. These mobs enrage,hit hard, fast and charge. Im sure many would agree with me on this

This quest is completely borked. 75% of the time the orcs will not spawn a fel spirit upon dying. You just have to grind the hell out of the mobs and hope for the best I guess.

And for the record, nobody cares about you being a druid, hunter, etc. Take those comments to thottbot.

Confirmed, not each Shattered Hand Berserker spawn the Fel Spirit
The Anchorite Relic is places for 4 minutes period and watch that there is channeled effect from the Relic to the Orc to make sure you'll have your Fel Spirit Spawned after it's death.

Word of advice: the new respawned Orc don't have garse period before they attack.
So place the Relic outside the camp and pull each one (not in the middle of the camp like i did to notice there's three spawned and killing me softly.)
They tend to Enrage at 10% of their Health.

I'm doing all of this and I can't seem to get the spirits to appear. Am I doing something wrong?

I place the stone on the ground, pull one, kill it while the stone is channeling it, and then it dies. I loot it and that's it. they are the right orcs. what am I doing wrong?

thx jokeefe for the coords and info. It was helpful. Getting there was easy, but the rest, not so much. I was a 59 shadow priest, and doing this quest was a definite pain in the ass. First off, bubble if you can, because they charge you. They crit hard and do crushing blows most of the time. After killing the initial berserker, I was pretty low on mana, then I had to go and kill his spirit. And having water (not made by a mage -.-) that was lvl 45, was quite frustrating and long and drawn out. Also, when I tried to run from the mobs because another would pop spawn right next to me while I was just killing the berserker. And these guys aggro forever. I thought I was at a dungeon for a sec O.o and died because they wouldn't get off me. So, bottom line, if ur lvl 59 and a clothie, get a friend to help with this, it would go a lot smoother

The orcs do not aggro when you place a totem near them. I did this and freaked out because it beamed on four. I wasted a good vanish on it. :[ None of them aggrod, however, because I wasn't in range of them.

This is much easier with a higher level to accompany you. My guildie, a 67 mage, had no trouble at all.

it was easy in my case, i'm a lvl 60 warrior and they dodge ALOT for me, so spamming overpower 3-4 times in a battle, they died really fast then :)

This should be the correct way to do it.
Goto 45,76 or anywhere you can find Shattered Hand orcs. Place the relic on the ground, preferably a safe place where you can pull orcs to fight, not too far from them.
The relic would emerge ray to orc nearby. If not, pull one near the relic. Kill the orc when the ray is emerging. A spirit will appear immediately after you kill the orc, kill the spirit. 100% spawn and 100% count. However, if the relic timed out (5 min) before you kill the orc, you will get nothing. Place the relic and repeat.
You can speed it up by place it in the middle of multiple spawn point sto lessen pull time. However, it will also risk you into a chain of fights with 2 each(the orc and the spirit) when other spawn in the middle of a fight.

For other pallys doing this quest, if you fight the berserker at the "max range" of the anchorite relic you placed (make sure it's still sending the death beam at it), you'll have just enough time between killing the berserker and getting attacked by the fel spirit to get off a Holy Light or 2 Flash of Lights.

Add: Also, if your relic fades out while you're fighting a berserker, Hammer of Justice him and place it again - it doesn't stop you from doing it while in combat.

Doesn't anyone read the quest log?! Why so many comments about it only working on berserkers when the quest log itself reads:

Klatu in Honor Hold wants you to use the Anchorite Relic at Gor'gaz Outpost southwest of Honor Hold, slay Shattered Hand Berserkers near the relic, and then slay 10 released Fel Spirits to avenge Colonel Jules.

Despite it being a level 61 quest, the berserkers and sprits can also be level 62, so be aware of that if you plan to solo it at level 58 or 59.

The level of the spirit doesn't seems to be related to the level of the berserker that spawned it, so be wary of that, too.

I had no difficulty with this quest as a level 61 subtlety rogue. If you're squishy, though, it's very important to place the relic just on the edge of the camp, or you'll pull too many of the berserkers.

Be aware, though, if there are other players or groups in the area. When I was in the middle of killing the orcs, someone came along and started killing the others that were drawn to the relic. He killed two of them, but I killed the spirits that came next. It's killing the spirits that gives you credit for the quest.

The other thing is that, even after you've killed 10 spirits, the relic will keep on summoning the berserkers, so watch out for that, too! Either enjoy the battle, or leave as soon as you're done.

In my experience, it is only the Shattered Hand Berserkers that will spawn the beam out of the Anchorite Relic Bunny -- after much frustration, I noticed that they would always spawn the beam, while the others never did.

So far, yeah...the beserkers are the only ones that trigger the beam. Could be a bug, could be a way to make the quest more 'interesting.' Hopefully just a bug...spent about half an hour waiting for beserker pats to wander by me.

There were a lot of good tips here -- but I do disagree with the one that said it would be hard to solo as a warrior. I did this with a level 59 warrior solo -- no deaths, potions, or scrolls. My equipment isn't very good (saving for that Epic mount!), either. I even got a couple of adds and had to fight two at once.

I just fought defensively (mostly protection in my talents) and it was quite easy. I used a one handed weapon/shield combo mostly in Defensive Stance.

The only healing I had was food between fights.

What a pain in the ass quest. Doing as a hunter the fel spirts only came so ofter. til i relized that you have to be standing next to the Rekic and next to the Shattered Hand Berserker when it died to get the Fel Spirt to pop. So Ranged attack was out of the question.

Did find all the Shattered hand Berserkers around 45 75 ish area.
at the little tower thing on the map south west of honor hold and north west of Expediyion Armory for those of you that don't have map cords.

Handled this just minutes ago as a 61 hunter with a lvl 61 ravager pet.

Easiest way was to just hang around on the entry path, drop the relic, then pull the orc berserkers to it, one at a time. Sometimes you'll get two, which is very interesting, but it only happened to me once.

9800 xp, 250 rep with Honor Hold, and 2 gold...works for me!

just done quest, didn't get a spirit released everytime.... but tonnes of xp so that was ok, died a couple of times too! not easy, but not that hard as long as you pull one at a time and not, as i my case, pull one, have one respawn right on top of you, plus get a ramdom spirit pop up from somewhere....! grrr lol

Ran this quest as a 60 Human Warrior Solo. I found it very easy. Look out for respawns and the spirit extractor will time out and dissipates so keep and eye on it. I solo'd and killed all the orcs a few times with no issues and twinks.

This is rediculously hard for a fire mage, they spawn midair and charge/stun you before they even fully spawn and can be seen fully,

Second, they spawn in the most assinine places, right ontop of you while you are still killing the first one. I died atleast 3 or 4 times doing this crap. its bull that some of these monsters arent balanaced, oh yeah another reason they have high spell resists.

If lots of people are there your best bet is just to AoE the ghost when one spawns (they spawn immediately after one of the orcs die). Took me about 30 minutes because of the crowd.

For this quest, if somebody else is killing the mobs and is NOT on the quest, the relic STILL captures the fel spirits for you.

I had this happen today where a 61 UD priest was killing the berserkers and when they died, my relic brought up a fel spirit.

I did this at 45,74 right outside the camp, just make sure the totem is just on the outskirts and then pull the guys to the totem, a fel spirit should spawn every time, if it doesn't you are probably outside the camp, I was 10/10 with spirits, if you are a mage make sure you bring some health or some netherweave nets or something because the spirits will spawn immediately and you want to keep them at a distance, about the same as fighting the berserkers as far as hp and power. Pretty easy quest, took about 20 minutes or so.

Use the near a Fel Orc of some kind, at the cord mentioned above (around 44,73). A little ray should shoot out at a orc, and thats the one you kill.
Make sure you have enough mana for 2 fights in a row. Once you kill them, and the spirt is summoned, you wont have time enough to drink.

I don't get how so many of you find this easy.

I managed, but everytime I killed the mob and his spirit little was left of my life and mana (3580hp and 6003mana), so I had to eat and drink everytime I captured a spirit, and make sure to not pull any other mobs or I was screwed.

So even though I didn't die it was sometimes a close call, and not easy, for me at least.

I have tried this quest several times solo with my 62 Fire Mage. In every case, the relic has disappeared before I finish, the best I've been able to do is 6 Fel Spirits. I then abandon the quest and start over to get a new relic.

There just isn't enough time before the artifact goes away. What am I doing wrong?

45,74 are the coords... place the totem anywhere on the outskirts, dont put it in the middle of the area, because they will respawn and kill you, again and again. you must stick to the outskirts, and pull one at at time.

when one dies, a ghost, equally as difficult as the orc itself, will come and attack you. you must pwn it. 20 minutes of solid killing required. not overly difficult as a 59 lock. be carful if you fear.

I set the artifact up in a spot where a relatively quickly spawing orc would come, and I killed him 9 times. The 10th time some stupid hunter showed up with his stupid pet and createdd (as they do) pandimonium. I wound up killing mine, his ghost, and the 3 he pulled.

If when you go into the stronghold, you pop the totem in the middle of the yard, then pull them within a reasonable range, you will be able to kill 10 and be done. Did it as a 60 Rogue, nice and easy.

An easy way to do this one is to set the relic up in a safe, close spot and then pull the orcs to it. I set it up on the road (watch out for Fel Reavers) right in front of the outpost and pulled them singly to the relic. The orc berserkers hit hard, but easily managed.

Berserker trick did it for me, other orcs just would not activate the relic.

You have enough time to hit Stealth before the Fel Spirit Spawns, and hit him with something like Cheap Shot to get an edge on fighting two mobs one right after the other.

Took a while though, Peninsula was pretty crowded at the time and we were competing for pulls.

This is the easy quest ive done in the outlands 62 arms warrior grabbed about 5 of them and popped recklessness and they all died used 1 pot.

To complete this quest you need to use the Anchorite Relic at Gor'gaz Outpost southwest of Honor Hold.

Make your way to the southwest of Honor Hold to locate Gor'gaz Outpost area. First of all, place Anchorite Relic on the ground and check if any mobs become linked to the relic.
If they do - kill fel orcs while they linked so Anchorite Relic will spawn Fel Spirits - one spirit per fel orc killed. Don't pull next fell orc, get rid of a spirit first.
If there are none of orcs being linked to the relic just pull them closer but watch others / respawn to not get overpulled.

Once you get there, find 1 or 2 Shatterred Hand Berserkers near each other.
Place the Anchorite Relic on the ground in front of them, far enough away they don't attack you.
Wait a moment for a light beam to stun them. Then go ahead and kill them.
Turn immediately to the Anchorite Relic as the spirit will charge you. Kill it and it adds to the count.
Repeat until you have all the spirits.
As mentioned, the gear on the Relic does nothing.

Got a weird bug during this quest. After placing the quest item, I was unable to drink water to replenish mana for about 2 minutes, as if the water was also on cooldown.

Description
