This herb can only be found underwater.

Off the coast of Hillsbrad was always my favorite gathering spot. 4-7 clumps on a fast respawn.

Comentário de 7826

You can also get it when you fish in the floating wreckage.

Comentário de 2874

like BenoitXVI said Stranglekelp is an underplant horde chars can find this very eazy around Rachet.

Comentário de 33265

if you need it quick and you dont want to fight for it, there is a few places in menethill harbor where you can find it.

just jump off the boat :)

My favourite method of procuring Stranglekelp is off the coast of Darkshore with my Druid in aquatic form (which, thank the gods, does allow gathering). Good, fast swim speed and water breathing -- ironically two of the main uses of this herb. Needless to say it's a major cash herb for me. :)

Comentário de circuitloss

I made loads and loads of money off of this herb. It helped to have a druid with aquatic form, but a warlock with their underwater breathing buff would also do fine. Favorite place to farm? Just off shore of Ratchet. The fishing there also yields some good stuff.

this herb can found near water not only in water

Comentário de 49530

my favorite spot is the left side of STV. just keep going up and down the coast.

can be found in Silverpine Forest: North Tide's Run at a few spots that i have found. next to the ship...(34.1,24.2) (35.5,29.2) ( 35.7,34.8) then next to the fisherman Killian Sanatha (31.0,18.6) and down slightly from Tiev Mordune @ (34.9,52.9) and work your way to the South Tide's Run (41, 71) (35.9,60.0) (39.0,68.6) (39.5,70.2) (40.2,76.2) (38.0,80.3) watch out for the reef frenzy they'll tear you up!

Comentário de gizmovision

Some of the spots shown on the maps are from Fishing Pools not just from Spawn locations

Comentário de 99925

Another good gathering spot is Westfall. If you're high enough level, the Murlocs won't even turn around when you're farming it. Fast respawn rate. I've found that the Mageroyal in the area drops lots of Swiftthistle.

Comentário de Sandos

On my server these sell for 8-10g a stack. If I ever need some cash I just jump in the water at Ratchet and swim around the bay. If I'm lucky I get a full stack. Takes 5 min in aquatic form.

Comentário de 32347

Dks tip : Use path of frost, its faster

Comentário de 146819

One interesting thing to note: it's the ONLY herb that grows exclusively underwater. The closest any other herb gets is growing either by the water's edge or in very shallow water.

Real nice farm in Barrens. You can get about 20 herbs in 15 minutes. Your start is Ratchet.
1. To the left to Durotar. 5-15
2. Dive to the ship. 3-10
3. To the right as far as you can get. Visit the Battle Island. You can get 15-30

Good luck!

Comentário de Wildesane

I love farming this in Westfall. I just swam up and down the coast and I got a lot. The map here shows a lot less nodes in Westfall than I ran upon. Unfortunately, I cannot give the locations because of my addon, so I can't confirm what ones I picked up and what ones I didn't.

So yeah, if you're a lowbie, go to Westfall!

Edit: Going down the coast 1 time, I acquired 30 Stranglekelp.

Comentário de 268230

A simply great farming place is on the Zoram Strand in Ashenvale. I was there for about 20 minutes and I went from the south of the coast to the north and I gathered 133 herbs!

Comentário de 500067

I think a safe one for alli would be Menethil.... i always see dots on the map when i go there to get on a boat. There's no threshers in the water either, unlike Auberdine.

Comentário de Thottbot

In the spawn list, it says they don't spawn in Wetlands, but the screenie shows Wetlands...

Comentário de Guggenheim

As of Season of Mastery, this herb node now has a chance to contain Elemental Water

Comentário de Moonstaker

I've found the bay of Ratchet to be a great place to farm this. Spawns are close together, and you can swim down the coast and back to look for more while you wait for the bay nodes to respawn.

I'd advise bringing a Water Breathing potion if you can though, some of the dives are deep, and there are some hostile Makrura walking around.
