Not in beta, but I would assume that these goggles are a crafted "random enchant" item.

Similar to https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=23758

If so these will be a very nice item for leveling to 80 as they only require 400 engy (25 past BC cap) and level 72. BUT they do still maintain a meta socket for further customization of the presumed random enchant mechanic.

These look like an upgrade to Gadgetstorm Goggles (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=32476) and (maybe) their SWP upgrade Lightning Etched Specs (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=34355).

Keep in mind that Engineers have to reach a skill of 440 before they can craft these, even though the requirement to wear them is only 400; and these are indeed BoP.

Paladins are pretty upset (rightly so) that there is no longer a plate set with int and spell power. Pallies who did not get into Sunwell are now using these over the trained BC plate set. It's not a huge gap in armor but forcing a plate-wearer to use mail simply to forgo one more recipe that can serve two Pally specs seems like an oversight.

Believe it or not, some Pallies didn't jump on the Ret train, and those that chose engineering for the nice goggles in BC are now left without an upgrade and forced to buy a BoE, use a sub-standard piece, or change professions.

Why, ooooohhh why isn't there a holy paladin healing head? Why can't we train this one if u inssist on being so lazy blizz? Freaking lame, need to like change prof -_-

EXACTLY! I was super excited to level my engineering for the goodies at high level. But to my dismay Blizzard, FOR WHATEVER REASON, decided to ignore the holy specced pally plate goggles. I chose a paladin to be a plate wearing healer. Now I am religated to use a mail head piece. Fortunetely the loss in armor is not huge.
Anyway, I hope this was just an oversight and gets fixed in a patch later. COME ON BLIZZARD... can an healadin get some love please?

Is there a reason that my trainer is not showing these goggles to my holy Pally? They are not in the list of things i can learn to make. Before i gather the (in some cases expensive) mats to make this i want to be sure i will be able to learn the ability to make them...

Don't feel too bad, the Battlemap Hide Helm is pretty much the exact same helm but better (if you don't mind leather). And it's free instead of spending 2000g on leveling engineering.

WTB upgraded BoP items.

Just made these yesterday on my Ele Shaman. She's lvl 73, so, these are well above and beyond anything I can get for a few levels. I'm not sure why there is all this QQ in the mail caster comment section about plate caster items or the lack thereof, but it is what it is.

Just to be VERY clear as a bunch of others have been unsure, you CANNOT train, make or see goggles which are other then your highest armor possibility. In short, hunters and shamen can only make mail, druids and rogues only leather, squishies only cloth, and pally/DK/War only plate. Again, Pallies CANNOT make these goggles. I know, it seems counterintuitive and that if you can technically wear an armor class, why can't you make the armor class, but, such is life with Blizzard.

I do think Blizz made a number of glaring oversights with gear for LK, probably because they rushed out of Beta and into printing the DVDs for the Nov release date. Remember when the crafted epic BS helms didn't have sockets? Plus, they are finally adding set bonuses to the crafted pvp blue sets in 3.1.

The pally caster goggle mistake may have occured over the crafted BS caster plate; i.e. Brilliant Titansteel Helm. It doesn't lessen the idiocy of not giving Plate BoP caster Goggles, but, it may help to explain the lack of them.

Why do these "require" 400 engineering when you need 440 to train them and you can't even sell them? So there's no possible way anyone can wear them at 400 eng skill, I just don't see the point...

Sadly, the Mind Amplification Dish cannot replace or be used with the Use: Allows you to look far into the distance. Attempting to tinker will give you the message, "That item already has an activated ability."
