Wouldn't 3 night elves, all having Child of the Moon, and non-overlapping Abilities be a dream team? Each follower would get 2x racial bonuses? The dream team would only be helpful for item missions (follower upgrade, caches) as they won't need XP missions, and won't have all Scav or Treasure traits so are useless for getting 2x or 3x Resource/Gold rewards.
It's definitely nice but since we can have 20 followers guaranteed. Doesn't do much.
Though, if I want to level up some followers I got a nice combo going.Harrison Jones with Extra Training(30% more xp) + a Abu'gar with two Hearthstone Pro perks(70% more xp) for 100% more xp. Those two easily can combo for 100% plus a follower. 90-100+ in one mission.
Further proof of how inherently flawed the whole garrison system is if we can do stuff like this that renders it into a click-four-times-to-win affair.
This used to work, in fact I had a team set up with three Orcs all with Child of Draenor. It worked for a while; however, it's since been patched so you actually only get three racial bonuses instead of six. (Each follower's trait seems to be activated for partying with a follower of the correct race instead of activating for EACH other follower of the correct race).
@Rossmallo It's a click twice to win system right now lol. You click once on the button that says "100%", then click again on "Send Mission"... I don't see your point lol. If you have Master Plan, it's already brainless once you have the right followers, which it helps you select with the "missions of interest" tab. You aren't supposed to have to pull out paper and pencil to figure out every single mission you send out.In real life, sometimes you are able to build a great team, whether through luck or leadership skill. The investment in time and attention you give to your followers determines how successful they will be. This is the same as the larger game of Wow. There's nothing hopelessly flawed about this system except that we're all spending so much time thinking about a video game. That flaw, however, is a shared delusion. One that we all enjoy, flaws or no flaws :D
Is Nuan Skydream only for Horde?
On the Nuan Skydream database page, you can mouseover the "View Alliance" button to see if the follower is the same or different across factions. In this case, Nuan is Horde-only. However, Fen Tao is a very easy Pandaren follower to acquire for both factions--just talk to him outside your city's Town Hall.
I'm curios if they're going to add a 'ghost' or 'shade' for the 'racial'; so, that someone like a ghost toon can get their ghost racial and/or the ghost racial...they are a ghost.
I've been doing a (far less effective) version of this on my alts. Continually roll 1 of 3 races with 1 of 3 matching class bonuses and praying that I get good traits when they level. Using the books are "odd-race" followers is a much better idea. I might try it on one of my alts soon.
Wait when did Hamlet join Wowhead?
What's the point of this. With the setup you presented all missions will take full duration and you want missions to be completed as fast as possible, especially raid ones.
I highly recommend the Garona and Ogre Buddy combo, as that's two followers you're going to have on your roster anyway. I shy away from the other situational ones, as everything else in my Alliance garrisons is either going to be Draenei or Human. Also goes without saying, but Master Plan's Missions of Interest tab is amazing. Took a lot of the thought and time out of it. Before that people were theorycrafting hardcore how to get the raid missions done with the minimum number of followers possible. It seems that as long as you have 25 max level epic followers and the appropriate ilvl there's a combo out there that exists for anything, and Master Plan will find it for you. Great guide btw!
This guide would serve mostly to Have a 'Jack of all Trades' team. Most people already have Master Plan addon, which can separate which abilities/traits the person's current character has, and which ones are missing, and a lot of other stuff. Like others have said it's now like 2 click = win with it. When, let's say, you see a 90% cache mission showing up, you'd just have to check which traits/abilites are not getting filled, which followers are currently giving you the most % for it, and try to level the ilvl of the lower ones and etc.Not saying it's a bad idea. But the need to farm tons of resources just to fill 3 followers on a single character... I would use this strategy to fill in those missing traits/abilities I haven't on each toon.
