When I tried to do this, the mob was hidden behind the column, up in the air, sort of on a walkway, and when I talked to him, the plane came up next to where we were out in mid air sort of. Nothing I could do would allow me to "Mount" the airplane - finally I got on the walkway and right clicked on the airplane and it ran me over and dropped me down to the floor. I got on my mount and flew back up to the walkway and right clicked and it walked me and dropped me again.

I tried getting on top of the machine - and that was high enough to take damage.

I finally managed to right click a second time - while I was falling through the airplane, and that "mounted" me on the airplane.

Had I known that I needed to do the mid air right click it might have saved me five minutes, maybe it will save you five minutes.

Having trouble? Heres a mage tip.

When the Soldier jumps on the wing, sheep him. This way no other soldiers are able to jump on and damage. Resheep as necessary. Easy xp

Hunter Tip: This quest sucks. Seriously.

More useful Hunter Tip: Spam Mongoose Bite and Raptor Strike (even though they're probably not on your bars) else the plane is liable to crash.

Maybe freezing traps would help? And just let the mobs sit in the trap for 20 seconds before killing it. Not sure, didn't try it.

using cyclone multiple times on each attacker I got out with a total of three guys attacking, and about 25% left on the flying machine.

Yes, you can fear the dwarves when they jump on the plane. I feared them, then dot'd them, kept them from doing damage. :)

Most epic quest in the game. Everything about it is brilliant, from the perilous flight up the Engine, to *SPOILERS* -- finding Creteus dead, in one of those "he'll rest easy knowing he didn't die in vain" moments -- and finally with the *SPOILERS AGAIN* -- brothers being reunited. :)

I fell through the plane while fighting and had to drop the quest. How do I get it back?

Edit: I found out if you leave the area and come back down the hole it resets.

Bronzebeard is down the enormous hole right near quest giver. Look for his plane and he is slightly above it almost totally behind a large obstruction on a ledge.
