This should at least be BoE so that Blacksmiths who went armor (they thought that they needed that more for tanking) would have been able to at least get the mats for this...although, I think bliz is going to add a lot of early ranged weaps for tanks, because it seems almost unfair to have such a great weapon like this be solely for tanking, yet under engineering.

Yet again, epic warrior TANK gun for engineers. Only this time, it's made more blatantly obvious now that it includes Defense in its stats.I mean... it's a gun made especially for just ONE class, particularly for their one tank spec.

Instead... they could've modified it so that it was a somewhat more DPS-oriented item... but with a significant amount of STM... or better yet, 2-3 sockets to allow for anyone that can use a gun to wield it for whatever purpose. And in that manner, it'd be something Hunter/Rogues/Warriors could use... THREE classes, not ONE class.

I suppose the matter is moot anyway... for the time being it appears to be BoP... so you can't even try to sell it unlike the GBKD.

Also... (assuming the T in Nestingwary is a typo)... Nesingwary's a Hunter no? What kinda hunter wields a blatant tank gun? No wonder the guy has you go around killing all sorts of beasts in STV, Nagrand, and now Northrend. >_>

First off, GBKD is boe and you can have any engineer make it for you and thats the point he is trying to make.

Second, Any warrior who is "serious" about tanking is not always going to choose engineering just to get some googles and a trinket cause essentially that is all your getting, while the googles are good there is plenty of alternatives

I know this isn't the place for this debate, but I'll stop you right there. For tanking, you won't get better than the goggles until the Battleworn Tuskguard. Even t5 is not better than the goggles.

and there is lots of alternatives to that trinket ( See Commendation of Kael'thas from Heroic MGT and the trinkets from Netherwing reputation which have higher stam among other things. Blacksmithing actually offers more for a tank than engineering when you consider Blazefury, Red Havoc Boots, and the fury belt from the SSC pattern.

Blazefury is nice, but for an actual tank weapon it's only on par with King's Defender. And comparing rare drops from a t5 instance to stuff learned at a trainer isn't really a comparison.

A warrior black smith gains the following bennifits: Shield Spikes, Sharpening Stones (important for doing damage),

The other stuff has been addressed, so I'll take these. Anyone can have these benefits. No one uses a shield spike for raiding anyway. Sharpening stones are not bop and can be bought by anyone. As someone else mentioned, the ideal thing is to get a miner alt and then take both professions on your warrior. In TBC, BS isn't that great for tanking to be honest. In Wrath, I dare say you will definitely want both professions.

Well, they renamed it from Nestingway to Nesingwary... so that confirms it.

Nesignwary is in fact a Huntard. Making a gun with Defense... pft. No wonder he makes YOU take all those big game hunting quests.

All kidding aside, this has become a BoE item, and they've also added another Epic Gun that is in fact itemized for Physical DPS classes. Long-range Cranium Drill.

As a side note, I think that one should be called Nesignwary instead... but anyway, good to see that there's two sets of guns this time rather than restricting engineers to making one gun for only one spec.

My only comment is this... why does blizzard give the guns with the fastest speed's to tanks? BM Hunter's love fast damage, this and Rifle of the Stoic Gaurdian https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=32325 are the range weapons with the fastest speed...and I know this sin't a coincidence, some sick #$%^er is doing this on purpose...

Well c'mon, think about it for a second hmm? Tanks dont stand there shooting continuosly unlike hunters, they just need to shoot once to pull usually. With slower guns means longer shooting cast time, precious mini seconds that can sometimes cause a moving patrol to aggro any groups nearby because they got too close to them.

With a faster gun those type of situations will happen less. It makes perfect sense to me, I in fact have a warrior tank and have had it happen once or twice.

You didnt really think a tank would stand there shooting again and again did ya? :P

the yellow socket and socket bonus on https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=32756 was often just ignored for the 15 or 18 stamina gems for tanking.
Just always annoyed me :P

This gun and the Consortium rep gun from BC have more going on animation-wise than any other weapon ive seen. It actually has 3 barrels, which you can see rotate from the side in order to let them cool off. You can also see the 3 barrels from the front, which Blizzard has made to look like a face, 2 eyes at the top and the firing barrel at the bottom " breathing fire and blowing smoke " as the mouth.

since this has a blue socket, you won't have to mis socket, getting 30 stam from the new stam gem -which is again blue- and also a socket bonus of 6 stamina, along with some hit and defense.

Just to be on the factually correct side of things, shoot _always_ has 1.5 second cast time (and Throw has 0.5 sec cast) for warriors, regardless of weapon speed (which only determines the cooldown of Shoot).

You can go test it yourself if you want; it also says so right in your spellbook.

So unless you're planning on shooting more than once in a row (at which point you might want to consider class change), ranged weapon speed really doesn't matter.

The 'gatling' style barrels glows red when you shoot this gun, and it gives off a lot of smoke.

Frikkin awesome.

Far cooler than the Gyro Balanced Khorium Star Trek Laser, in my opinion.

In addition, the three barrels rotate, slotting a new barrel into place and moving the heated barrel out of the firing mechanism every time you fire.

this is wrong, as far as tanks are concerned. every gun has the same casting time on the INITIAL shot (1.5s), which is all tanks care about. we certainly don't stand there shooting again, so weapon speed is utterly irrelavant.

thrown weapons have a shorter initial casting time (0.5s) than guns and bows, which is why tanks love them. it would make some real sense for blizzard to make our uber-tank weapon thrown instead of a gun, but they haven't seen fit to do this for us...

I recently got the mats for this to be made, replacing Weighted Throwing Axe and I have to say I am glad I did, there is nothing better for a tank to put in that slot currently. The gem slot is nice for an extra 24 stam and all tanks should get this gun as soon as possible as it is the only BoE crafted item I have found that has nothing better than it if only for a stat stick (I pull with heroic throw if it is not on CD).

That I believe is the intent of the comment above. Of the four tanking classes only one of them has a slot for a ranged weapon. The rest of the classes have what amount to highly specialized trinkets.

In many peoples opinions this is a bit of an imbalance thanks to the inclusion of awesome stats and lack of choice among specialized gear but I won't debate the issue here.

Warriors - Ranged weapon
Paladins - Librams
Druids - Idols
Death Knights - Sigils

You know, I hate to be the bad guy that brings this up, but show me a single Libram, Idol, or Sigil with stam, def, hit, and a blue socket and I will make you a millionaire. For a Druid that doesn't mean crap. For a Paladin, that fine, you have a shield. For a DK this is pathetic. We have no shield and no tank specific two handers (though we do have that nice flat 25 defense rune now), and our sigils barely give us jack crap other than more aggro...

And what do Warriors get? Not only do they have a main hander and a shield (great stats and mitigation from shields, not to mention the only def based meta gem also gives shield stats...), they also have a gun you may or may not ever see that is giving them an extra 42 stamina, an amount of defense that isn't perfect but still not bad, hit, and an extra socket to put whatever nifty gem you could use about now into? Yeah, thats a little nuts....

I don't see why you would srsly think about tanking with a slow 2h'er in the first place. Given that you probably stacked a lot of dodge and parry, with that new rune you mentioned it could be put to use with 2x 1h'ers and still keep up around 1k dps.

Dual welding Slayer of the Lifeless is one such weapon that might maximize and utilize this.

As a fury warrior recently turned level 80 I am cosidering this gun for its built in 18 hit rating and ignoring the socket color another 16 hit with the correct yellow gem, i cant remember its name; am I on the right path here for a new hit starved lvl 80?

now its true enough that the main reason for this gun is for tanks. i am a hunter and i am going to use it at 80. now before you chastise me, i just want to say that this gun is better than the nessingwary (even for hunters) for two reasons. 1) the 42 stamina is good for anyone and 2) its cheaper. happy hunting =D
