All this Plate DPS gear is so poorly itemised from a Warrior point of view.

No crit, lack of armor penetration.

Instead we get a whole lot of haste and hit, which isn't needed seeing as Arms Warriors cap out at 142 hit rating and fury warriors don't exactly have problems getting decent hit.

I'd rather see crit on this gear, seeing as thats far more valuable to our dps then hit.

If you compare them to what i believe they are intended to be a direct upgrade to, Bloodthirster's Wargreaves.

Since both have +str socket bonsus, and the epic unique equiped gems are no longer going to be uniqe equiped, i'll go for socket bonus's using Shifting Tanzanite for Blue sockets, and Enscribed Fire Opal for Yellow sockets, and then +8str gems for Red sockets.

This is what you end up with:

+244 armor, -3 Strength, +5 Stamina, -13 Hit Rating, +42 Haste Rating

As far as pure dps goes, armor and stam dont matter. So then it ends up being, is 42 haste > 3str and 13 hit? If your hit capped, it definately is better, which most people should be at this point.

Its just like all the rest of the new 2.4 badge loot gear. Better than T5, but slightly less than T6. But still comparable to T6.

This is also poorly itemized from a Retribution Paladin point of view.

Sure it's got gobs of strength if socketed purely with strength gems, but ret pallies don't need very much +hit to reach their cap, and until they make Seal of Command scale with haste, haste is a very low-value dps stat for alliance ret.

However, due to sheer item level, they're the best you can get if you don't have access to high-end raiding drops. I'd say the changes to T5 and T6 for ret pallies make them better than this by FAR, as well as the Legguards of Endless Rage from Hyjal, because it has more valuable crit rating in place of haste.

Blood Elf ret pallies are free to disagree with me, because Seal of Blood DOES scale with Haste, making these pants quite a bit better for them.

these arent "bad" pants if your not in TK yet but the guy up top is right, Bloodwarder's Greaves are much better over all. the bottom line is if your not pulling 31-33% crit w/o buffs you don't have any to spare on haste. all the speed you gain you will lose when you arent able to keep flurry up 80% or more of the time. If your not hit capped at 9% these are also still a valid choice, but if you are hit capped they rlly dont have much to offer. Haste is way overrated since it got nerfed.

First i saw these pants i thought also why no crit Blizz but then i thought about the following setup:

-put 2 +8 crit gems
-put (nether) cobrahide

resulting in 26-28 crit rating on this pant

good amount of every stat on 1 pant that a dps warrior likes

Or would i cripple it by doing so?

Notably, every site that evaluates gear upgrade statistics has Trousers of the Scryers' Retainer as slightly better than these for DPS warriors (particularly fury). Is this just enhancement shaman syndrome where leather is consistently better than hunter-oriented mail drops (in our case DPS warrior-specific plate badge buys), or are these gear engines misleading?

Edit: Remember, Armor Rating is not a DPS stat...
