Must be the HWL Weapon for Lv. 70 in BC.

A fair upgrade, I'll probably pick one up and a full PVP Gear set before I start my grind for Arena gear.

Also, just a little math for people.

18 Hit Rating at 70 (Its a 70 Weapon >_>) is about 1.2% Hit
28 Crit Rating is about 1.3% Crit

I'd say this axe probably isn't worth it in terms of grinding time. 36k honor takes two days even on an Alterac weekend, and that's playing the whole day, both days. Crystalforged War Axe can be as cheap as 50 gold, which means just a couple of hours of grinding and it's almost as good.

Of course, if you don't have anything else to spend your honor points on (which seems unlikely) or don't mind grinding some extra, it's still a decent axe until you can get an epic one.

Overall, i have to agree with the above comments, even though the cost has been reduced to 30,600 Honour.

It's been heavily compared to the Crystal Forged war axe. While the CFA can be got for 50g if you are lucky, its likely that you will pay 90-100g for it. 2hrs of repeatable daily quests will net you this much easy.

Comparing Stats to the CFA

Lose 8 Stamina (Not too big a deal for a Hunter)
Lose 24 AP (A loss of 1.7 DPS on your RAP, 4.8 Damage on your steady shot, + the loss of the crit bonus on that damage)
Gain 1 Crit (Not worth talking about)
Gain 18 Hit (1.2%)

1.2% hit, is basically a 1.2% damage increase assuming your hit is not capped. For all these people that do 700 DPS or more, thats a 8.4 DPS increase against mobs where you get use out of + Hit.

Overall, your probably going to get a 2 or maybe 3 DPS ranged attack improvement out of this over the CFA. Not worth it and it does not look anywhere as nice as the CFA

OK as of patch 2.3 imo this weapon's costs should have been reduced much more when in comparison you can get Gladiator's Decapitator for the same AV marks but only 2520 more honor. I mean its a no brainer, c'mon blizz what are you doing? Keep up with your own changes.

Ye a balanced wepon indeed,i like his stats. Good for someone who like his stats on a straight line.Well it will be a good thing to have a Savagery enchant or a 35 Agility on it.

Would anyone say this is worth the time and effort? Seems to be a great PVP/Arena weapon.

You won't find a blue 70 2H weapon with better DPS and stats than this axe, or the HW's claymore, basically the same stats.

If you want better, you're looking for an epic. For a blue 2H level 70 weapon, this and the claymore are the best you can get.

This and the Claymore PWN the Crow-Wings reaper. Sure it has sockets, but it has no stats. So 3 +AP gems still dont beat the str/sta, crit and resillience of the Claymore.
