If you're a rogue, you're lucky that you'll be able to sneak past all the mobs in the den, rather than needing to fight your way down. Remember to distract the fel hunter groups when you move past 'em.

I felt like such an idiot trying this at 30 on a warlock. I mean, I was able to do it, but c'mon...

Pretty much a huge waste of time. All the mobs have high shadow and fire resist, so they're hard to tank and hard to dps. The ring is nice, but nothing really so much better than the new JC rings.

Ok this is realy wierd, for all of you to not get lost the ramp is on the right side when you enter the area (the ashes). On the map it looks like a little lake in the demon zone, there are 2 ramps, 1 leading for each quest-mob

deffentally turn your gamma all the way to high and wonder through constantally going down in the stupid den... its the only way to get there. but both guys are really easy to kill... go with a friend or 2 down into the den its much easier as well... lol

The path to the cave is within spitting distance of the monument to Grom Hellscream. It has those little obelisks(which dont glow nearly brightly enough).

More than soloable for a level 30 Undead Rogue. It was no problem stealthing past unwanted mobs, and I only really needed to kill the ones directly surrounding Gorgannon. The boss himself was done with an Ambush, around 3 Sinister Strikes and an Eviscerate.

For Diathorus the Seeker, I was forced to fight the Demon Hound patrols a few times, but with Evasion on they hardly ever hit, let alone hit hard. Diathorus himself was the easiest part; he didn't get to drain my life, and no one came when he called for help.

I soloed this as a lvl 30 hunter and it was easy.

To get to Gorgannon, take the first ramp you see on the left, when you enter the demon area. He's near the huts on the left side. I killed everything and avoided the felhunter pat, though they are easy to kill.

To get to Diathorus the Seeker, head towards the monument for Grom Hellscream, the thing that looks like a lake in the map. On the right side should be a little glowing obelisk. If you look further up you should see the next one. This is the path you need to follow. Once you enter the cave clear your way down the ramp and into the path that's on the bottom floor. (The very bottom) He is right across the bridge in the next room. He called for help but I didn't get any adds. I had to kill a few felhunter pats, but again, they were easy.

I found this quest to near impossible for a Priest. Tried doing this at 29, the mobs got a high shadow resistance, but nothing i can't handle.

Diathorus on the other hand got a huge shadow resistance and Holy resistance. I couldn't wand + heal him either as he healed himself with drain life. after a 8 min fight some felhounds respawned and I died, leaving him at 75% :(.

I'd suggest getting a group for this if you're a priest

Soloed as a 31 warrior, pretty easy but the respawn rate of the Fellhounds is fast, but they are pretty easy to kill, as a warrior use Cleave and thunderclap. Also when moving through the cave take it easy around corners as i did encounter the Felhounds and a Fellguard at once.

Solo'd as 31 rogue, first guy just pull the lashers and wait for the hounds to circle and clear those then go in for an easy kill.

Second guy I found all alone in the cove and was pretty easy no strategy needed.

I did this as a 28 fire mage, fairly doable. Didn't die anyway.

The hounds are just funny. As a mage, drop mana shield and blast m with Blizzard and fire strike. If any still live after that, use arcane explosion.. That will be it.

The bosses are easy, just freeze and fire blast m and remember mana shield. O and your mana stone ofcourse.

Only problem for fire mages are the infernals with their immunity.

easily soloed it with my LVL28 Druid , the first one is easy to find. he does lots of damage but runs really slow, try stunning him and run 2 steps back when the stun is over and stun again , the other one is in a cave and took me about 20 minutes to find. he does low damage but runs fast and he is guarded by one level 30 Searing Infernal and stunning wont work on him

by the way , its a good idea to finish the quest "destroy the legions" while you're at it.

Diathorus has multiple spawn points.

He will normally be at the very end of the cave in a little outcove, but he can also be on a bridge in the middle of the cave.

He may have other spawn points as well.

I was killing those dude's even before i got the quest. I was doing the pre-q.

Anyway as a lvl 28 rogue it was no problem. I didnt have to fight anything, just distracted mobs when needed.

The two chicks at first dreadlord could be pulled.

I did this yesterday as a Lvl 32 warlock. Used my vw and it was cake! I used the sense demons as suggested above and it was helpful, but all the demons were spread apart and it was easy to take them one at a time without worrying about pulling others in. An easy quest.

I solo'd this with a level 30 frost mage. Its one of the easiest quests I have ever done. I don't think anyone will have a problem with it... the reason I visited the page was to get directions on how to get up that hill. Look carefully as it is marked out by beacons. Good luck

Solo'd this quest with 29 lvl warlock. Very easy as there wasn't fights with 2 or more mobs at the same time. Both bosses was easy too as they was fighting like normal mobs. I just applied all my DOTs and shooted with wand. If someone want to know i was using voidwalkwer.

I soloed this as a level 28 Undead Rogue. It was really easy. Just make sure to clear all the mobs around Gorgannon before attacking him. Diathorus is all by himself so you don't need to worry about clearing any mobs around him. =) I recommend using stealth to avoid any mobs you don't need to kill, and popping evasion and a health potion if you need it while fighting Gorgannon and Diathorus. If you have any trouble with the mobs around them I recommend dismantle and kick to interrupt the lashers. This seemed to work pretty well for me. =)

FYI: If you arrive at him just as someone has killed him. Chances are he will respawn in another area of the cave. He does not have a static spawn point.

WoW (pun totally intended) . Ok I was a 32 warlock when I did this quest. The only hard part was finding Diathorus. He was at 79,85 as reported. He died in about 10 seconds. The other guy died just as fast. Not sure why people are saying this quest is tough. Stand and fight, clear the path, and there isnt any back up for either of them to call.

Im not sure if it changed in 3.1 but this quest is super easy. It is defiantly a solo quest. I did this as a 29 Druid and didn't come close to dying once, and im not that good.

I did this with my lvl 29 paladin, its very easy. Gorgannon can be found easy but Diathorus is a little bit harder to find, hes in the cave and i have a feeling that he has random spawns..

Really easy quest as they are non-elite level 30s with 1k health. To find Diathorus you have to go into the tunnel where his little encampment is and find him underground.

As of patch 3.3, it appears this quest was greatly simplified. I literally found Diathorus standing on the bridge directly in front of you right when you enter the cave, somewhere I've never seen him spawn in the dozen or more times I've done this quest as both Horde and Alliance. No more tearing your hair out getting lost in that stupid cave, apparently.

Just finished this quest, as a Level 30 rogue. I didn't stealth or vanish once. Nor, did I have any felhounds come out of the woodworks. I thought it was fairly simple, in the fights. Finding them . . .Well, that's another story. I got lost in the temple place, so I started like you would a game show: Door Number One! Nope? Door Number Two! So on and so forth. I killed off the minions first (i.e. Felguards and the ladies) then went after the big boys.

If you're having trouble killing him because of him calling for help, the easy solution is to pull him back in to that area behind him, i did it is a level 29 feral l druid and I killed him easily and when he called for help no mobs came. Also, you could kill the mobs by him...

The legion hounds may look scary because they walk in packs of 4 or 5 but they die pretty easy. Both of the demons they want you to kill are farily easy also.

Directions through the maze:

There is a lot of winding, but getting to the demon comes down to lefts and rights, so...

1. the first choice you have is a 3-way split (like in Fellowship of the Ring): go LEFT, which takes you down;

2. at the fork, go LEFT;

3. on a platform between 2 bridges you have to kill 1 guard, but if you look to the edge of the platform, there is a steep staircase to the RIGHT going down--take it;

4. go RIGHT at the bottom of the stairs;

5. almost immediately you come to another fork--go LEFT, which takes you down to the demon, who is alone, and seems the same as the first one (and is also a cheepskate!

I suggest using your stone to leave, but you can walk out using these directions. And FYI, the wandering packs of dogs are only as tough as one lvl 29 monster--just be aware that you might have to click on each one as you kill the previous one...

followed the instructions above and couldn't find the guy...so I back tracked and found my mistake. Left, Left, Right (steep stairs) then I had to turn **Left** then imediatly left again. Yep there he was in a little cave at the back. I don't know maybe this guy has multiple spawn points.. anyway, 32 rogue, Stormscale. EZ :) goodluck

I would suggest a Warlock wait until lvl28 before attempting this, for one reason and one reason only.

BANISH! Fantastic crowd control, and better than fear in these close quarters where pulls are definately an issue.

Keep your VW up for the AoE aggro magnet and just go to town.

If you wait to Lvl30 it's even easier for a Warlock because of Enslave. Also, the majority of mobs will be yellow instead of orange, so their resist rate drops.

Also, using the Eye of Kilrogg makes finding the Named Demon in the cave super easy even without Detect Demons turned on.

This quest was made for 'Locks! :P

For those of us without the addon for coords. As you travel the path of Demon Fall Canyon just before you get to Grom's monument a path will lead up the hill to the left. Gorgannon, lvl 32, is a the top of this hill all the way in the back. The easiest way to kill him is to follow the right side of the mountain at the top of the hill and you will get behind him. He will walk toward you a little where you can attack him and not aggro the Mannorac Lashers around him. If you enter the monument to Grom there will be a path on your right that leads up the hill to the cave Diathorus is in. I'm a worlock and used the Eye of Kilrogg to scout the cave and find him. I did this quest as a level 29 with ease.

To add to the above. Diathorus: Enter the barrow and go down the spiral ramp. It opens to a room with a bridge to the right, a bridge to the middle, and a ramp going down to the left. Go left down the ramp and take the corridor to the left right after going down the ramp. This leads you down to the second most bottom level. You will see a bridge that leads to an island with a ramp down on off the right of the island and a bridge across to another corridor on the far side of the room. Go straight across to the corridor and follow is around. This leads to the ONLY balcony in the den where Diathorus is. He uses alot of fear and drain life effects. I couldn't kill him as a level 29 worlock. The den is exactly the same layout at the Ben'Ethil Hollow in Teldressil. It only consists of a few rooms that link to each other in a lot of ways. The minimap is flat and so is decieving.

I did not find him in the balcony, I found him in the room below instead. Waste a lot of time here. Fortunately, in this area there are a lot of silver, gold and iron veins.

Ok, listen up bc this is all correct! The guy in the cave, Diatharus the seeker, has 3 spawns. Enter felfire hill turning onto the right pathway. Follow that until u see a monument. Turn right onto the pathway leadin up to the cave in whick Diatharus is in. Fight ur way down the ramp until u get to the three-way intersection in which u will turn left on. You will soon come to a platform between to bridges. One of his spawns is on the balcony entering the double bridged room. So when u enter lookup, he is perfectly visible! If not then go onto the platform, and turn right down the ramp. Then turn left and there will be a room behind the ramp. If he is not in there then go back to the bottom of the ramp and instead turn right down the tunnel. Then u will come to a 2-way room. Turn left and follow that in which his other spawn is. He deffinately will spawn in one of these places

Now for the other guy, Gorgannon. Go back to the entrance of felfire hill and turn left instead. Follow that for a while and u will soon come across a villiage with Gorgannon in the back of it. You cannot miss him, hes very large!

Finding the cave is actually easy when u know where to go - if not it can be a pain. If u go pretty much to the end of demon canyon there is an uphill path on the right with glowing obelisks which takes u up to the large area where the cave is - 83.78 im pretty sure. He is usually in the alcove which again im pretty sure is directly below the entrance to the cave

This quest is very easy except navigating the damn cave. The directions above were wonderful. I did this on my pally first without directions. But other than finding my way through the cave, piece of cake. On my druid, i killed Gorgannon first then went to the cave using the above directions. Prowled my way to Diathorus, stopping to kill hounds just for the hell of it, killed him and then i teleported to moonglade, flew to rutheran, then to forest song, dropped off quest and done! Fantastic fun on both characters!

Korgaal gave great directions to one of the spawn points, but Diathorus the Seeker has 3 more spawn locations.
One is directly above the one given in Korgaal's directions. The other two are in the previous room with 2 bridges. One on the balcony and the other below and behind the ramp leading down to the floor in that room; it's in an alcove.

Coords for all four spawn locations: Two bridge room: (78,82),(79,81) ; One bridge room: (78,85),(78,84)

For all the shamans (shamen?) doing this quest, don't even think twice about the hounds. I'm a level 29 enhancement shaman and everytime the hounds showed up I just layed down Stoneskin totem and Healing stream and just melee'd them to death. They'd hit for 1 or 2 with stokeskin, and I'd get it right back with healing stream. They're no problem, I got jumped by them while fighting an infernal and with healing stream and stoneskin it's like they're not even there.

Solo'd this as a level 29 shaman, it's not too hard if you follow the tips on this page and be careful.

Diathorus respawn time is ridiculous.... I arrived to his spawn right as another warrior just killed him... so i waited around for about 20 mins killing random mobs in the dungeon.

Still no spawn.

I tried logging off for a bit and eventually running out of the cave and fighting my way back down again. 1-2 hours passed and still no respawn. Im starting to think bugged on me

if you are a lvl 28+ pally then put on your shadow resistance on and its easy well those legion hounds are VERY annoying but they have only a little HP so those legion hounds will be no problem for you

dreadlord:put on your shadow resistance aura on and its easy you will need some healing but you can heal enough

others:legion hound and others like roaming felgaurd spawns around the dreadlord so if you are getting attacked by a roaming felgaurd those 5 legion hounds and the dreadlord do you have no chance and if you want to heal do you get interupted all the time so its hard to heal or you can do lay on hands if you got low mana and health

but never do lay on hands with FULL mana or you need to restore much with poitions or without

and that was the guide for lvl 28+ pally's

I cant find Diathorous the Seeker or the locations that were put on the site. is it east or west of Demonfall Canyon. Also, I did not have to kill the Demon Hounds when I killed Gorgannon.

From what i could tell the The first guy you have to kill spawns in the same spot every time. But, the second guy spawns in random areas.

The demon fall ride path that leads to the barrow den containing diathorus starts at 83 , 78. If you look NW from those coords you should see some lit up pillars that mark the path upto the barrow den.

I can understand why everyone had a problem with it..... but if you follow these instructions you should be OK.

Gorgannon - Go into Demon Fall Canyon (Entrance is 84:74) Follow it in until you come to a straight ahead or a left turn choice. Take a left up the hill. When you reach the top of the hill, you will have another choice to take. Again, take a left all the way to the end and he will be there.

Diathorus - Leave from Gorgannon the same way you came - back out straight, take a right and back down the hill to where u can take a left to where you would have carried on straight before if you hadn't had gone up the hill.
Face the big stone in the middle, and then look right - 83:78 is the entrance and it is a slope leading up a hill and then you come to Demon Fall Ridge. Clear the room first if it's safer because you don't really want to be chased up a slope by a bunch of angry monsters. When you get to the top, the cave entrance is 78:81. I don't know the way I went but he spawns in different locations as I've read.

TIP - If you have the spell "Sense Demons", then use it. It worked wonders for me.
And the quest title DEFINATELY fits the quest description. I will NEVER do that again lols. :D

I did this "solo" with a Mage lvl 30; It's not exactly a "piece of cake" but can be done with a little precautions.

The packs of "Legion Hounds" are easy: Turn on the "mana shield", wait until they attack you, then "frost nova" and "blizzard". That take care of the "dogs". Mages must be very careful with "searing infernals": they are immune to fire spells (Fireball or Pyroblast...); You have to use frost and arcane

In the cave, the directions given by korgaal are exact.

Be careful here... At the bottom you'll find two "searing infernals": One at your left and another at your right. Take down the one at your left first, otherwise both will attack you at the same time and they are lvl 30.

I'm willing to bet most of the people that can't do this quest are making the same mistake I did.

Diathorus the Seeker is in the den ABOVE THE DEMON FALL CANYON. He is NOT in the Dor Danil Barrow Den.

Both Dens are exactly alike so following the above directions will work, but you'll never find Diathorus. To find Diathorus, go to Demon Fall Canyon and find Grom Hellscreams monument. To the right there will be a path lighted by little statue lamps... follow it all the way up to the correct Den.

Diathorus is in here. You know you're in the right spot if you're fighting demons. You're in the wrong spot if you're fighting night elves

Ok the first time i tryed finding Gorgannon i got lost its really easy when your are entering there is a turn off go up there and he should be in the back... The guy in the cave is really easy when you enter the quest jump to the right and just go striaght all the way down it should lead you to a big room he should be to your left! GOOD LUCK!

The first demon is easy to reach with stealth, but without it, you have to get past a bunch of lashers. I found it a little easy on my druid, but I died at the same time I killed him.

To get over to the cavern where the second demon is, you'll have to jump up jutting rocks. They look like the ones in Teldressil (the moonstones). I overlooked them the first time.

This quest is totally soloable by a 31 hunter! The mobs are single pulls as long as you don't run into the middle of areas, and the packs of felhunters go down individually in 2 hits. So generally you shouldn't have any difficulty with this quest.

The mountain path that leads to the cave is near Grom Hellscream's obelisk and marked with glowing "milestones". Diathorus is at the bottom level in a small alcove/room, in the southern part of the cave. Beware of Felhound packs (5-6) outside.

Leveled from 34 to 35 during this quest as an undead priest. Thanks to the posts here, I didn't have as much trouble as some, but alas, my poor pulling skills are still poor. Up until the end of the trail where Gorgannon is, I was able to pull one at a time, but there were 4-5 lashers around when I got there. I pulled all but the last one alone with no problems, but when I tried pulling the last one, Gorgannon must have been too close, because he came charging, too. Luckily, I am getting better at remembering Psychic Scream, so I did that, and then focused on Gorgannon, while the lasher went running around aimlessly. Still, bad luck for me: she came back before the fight was over. It was very tough: I ended with almost 0 mana and 1/4 health.

Off to Diathorus the Seeker, who I was expecting would be harder. Despite the good directions here, I still had troubles finding him, as the lights aren't like any other lights I've seen. To me, they look almost like mini Mary shrines, but orange and green instead of blue.

Took a long time to get through the cave and find him, but in that case, I was able to pull everyone one on one, until all that was left was Diathorus. Killing him was no problem, either. Much easier than Gorgannon.

I must have been lucky: I didn't see any hounds the whole time I was doing the quest.

he was in a tunnel that led to a dead end at the end there he was...dont know if i can really give you directions but you come to a fork where you can go over a bridge to a dead end or go down to the left and when you go down you can either keep going straight or hang a right at the end of the tunnel there he was, easy kill and with full rest i got 900 xp out of the 2 of them...31 druid

Wow, really damn annoying quest. Killed Gorg no problems and cleared my way through the cave and still couldn't find the noob Diathorus so I came on here to look it up and died from a wandering pat. After that I got lazy and tried to shield and run which resulted in me dieing. Really *!@#ing annoying and Ithink I'll just abandon it even though I wasted an hour or so on it.

Make it at 31 lvl with hunter. Quest is very easy, but if you haven't AoE it takes hours to clear caves from packs of hounds...

Just a word of advice, if you can't find him, when you die run through the complex and find him. That's what I did. Found I was almost right around the corner from him anyhow. Eye of kilrog might be nice too if you're a lock

quest helper is innacurate as to where Dia is precisely. do some exploring and you'll find hm eventually. done easily as 29 pally.

I killed Gorgannon pretty easily (level 29 Mage). You can individually pull the guards around him if you time it right. But watch out for the hound pack that roams around.

Having a tough time getting down to Diathorous. There are two sets of hound packs that roam the path down to him. I've only tried it once but will try again soon. Any hints are greatly appreciated. :)

Solo'd it with my lvl 28 rogue.
Stealthed through just about the whole thing. On Gorgannon(89,76) I lured the 2 guards away from him and killed them, then I stealthed up to gorgannon, used ambush, sinister strike, eviscerate. Gouged when needed so I could heal with bandages, as well as a healing potion.
Through the cave I stealthed, used distract when the path was too narrow which would prevent me from sneaking pass without being spotted. The few times I got caught I just used vanish, waited 5 minutes for the cooldown to wear off(in case i needed to use it again, which I did). Avoided the Legion hounds. Right before Diathorus there's a the fire creature in the room, I just stealthed up to him, killed him, and made sure that i was as far as possible when doing it, so diathorus wouldn't aggro. Then I just stealthed up to Diathorus, and did the same steps I took when killing Gorgannon.

Did this quest the other night on my b'elf paladin, and apparently it's been "nerfed". While going into the little valley to slay Gorgannon, I kept an eye for that one roving pack of fel hounds, and they never showed up.

Odd I thought.

Then I entered the twisting warrens where Diathorous hides, and there he was standing right on the middle arch of the very first bridge. Again, there were no wandering fel hound packs inside the caverns, or for that matter, just outside the area either.

I have skipped this quest at times on different toons to suppress the annoyance factor after getting turned around and lost countless times in those caverns looking for Diathorou's spawn points, so this (undocumented?) change is welcome.

And this horde version of the quest lists rep gained with Exodar?

He can spawn in different places. I killed him once on the balcony south end of the cave, once in a little dead end across a bridge north end of the cave. I'm not surprise if there are more.

Oh god, I spent so much time crawling around in this cave looking for Gorgannon, that I killed Diathorus three times.

I was looking FOREVER for the way to Diathonus. Just for reference the coords for the ramp begin at 83,78. He was easy to kill, I had more issues with all the other mobs in the cave-then I got lost and couldn't find my way out. Boo Hoo for me. Still, super easy to solo at lvl 31 BE Pally (leveled up to 32 on my way there)

ok 32 hunter now.. havent been below 90% hp in either the den or outside... but i cant find diathorus for ANYTHING! i killed practically EVERYTHING in the den.... nothing! coords? directions? map? anything?

ill post again if i find him.. cuz this is ridiculous lol

Something funny to notice is that the name of the person you turn it in to is Valusha, but the quest says to turn it in to Velusha.

I only noticed because I had this quest and the other quest Destroy the Legion.

78,82 is right. hes in a hole in the wall. finished it as a lv 28 lock. The hardest part was beating Diathorus the Seeker

When you first enter the cannyon you'll come across the path splitting into two.
Both directions have one of the two bosses at the end. The split to your left is by far the easiest. The split to your right leads to an area with a path leading up into the mountain. It's light grey on the mini map and fairly decently highlighted by little lamps.
Follow that path for the second boss. The cave is a nightmare and crawling with hound packs, although I must say these guys are pretty darn weak, myself and my pet get to just a little more than half our health per pack of them, lvl 32, solo'd hunter..

I'll update if I find any easy paths to the 2nd boss but until then all i can say is.. at least the XP is good x]

my level 29 druid did this, just stealthed through the cave avoiding the packs and mobs killed him without minor issues. (the seeker)

the other guy was pretyt easy too.

I found Diathorus at 78,84 and I believe he can spawn in any of the rooms. I'm glad I cleared all the nearby mobs first as I was feared three times.

One of the most aptly named quests in the game. I just finished this with my warrior - at level 35, it wasn't hard to solo (as a dwarf, I got a late start on the Kalimdor quests). However, since I have a couple of lower-level characters coming up, I'll think I'll follow the title's advice next time! The only reason I'm posting this is to recommend this only if you have a bunch of time to kill, and really, really need the xp.

If you decide to go ahead - the first part is almost ridiculously easy, Gorgannon isn't much of a threat; take the left fork off the entrance path, go up and over a hill, and you'll find him at the back of a canyon to the left at coordinates 89, 77, with only a couple of mobs nearby. Don't worry about the Legion Hounds - even though they travel in packs, they don't hit for squat; the worst they did was 17-19 on crits, but for the most part less than 10 on a hit. They start out as a mere nuisance, then become an annoyance, and by the end they're nothing more than a royal PITA!

Diathorous isn't really much tougher, he's just much, much harder to find! Take the fork to the right from the entrance path, and stay to the right when you get to the first canyon... you'll find a small path leading up a steep hill to another canyon with a den/spiral maze at the left rear. After over an hour of searching the maze from top to bottom, I finally found him in a little spider-hole off the northeast-most room at the very bottom of the maze, at coordinates 78.8, 82.4 (though he apparently has several re-spawn points in the maze). The best part of this was that I went from just having turned level 35 to only a couple of kills from 36 (which, in the end, only left me feeling sort of unclean); the worst part was that I know I was at that room at least twice, and I didn't see or hear any other parties in the maze at any time - so he must have an ENORMOUS re-spawn time!

They changed alot of lower level quests in the last patch, so either I got really lucky or they made this quest really easy. All the devil hounds or whatever they were are gone, and the seeker guy in the tunnel was standing on the first bridge I came too, took like 2 minutes to find him

Just completed this quest. Gorgannon is at 89,76. Pretty easy, he's a low 30's mob sorry cant remember exactly. The Monument to Grom Hellscream is at 82,79 and the start of the ramp is directly north of it at 82,78. Be REALLY careful of the Legion Hound. There are 5-6 of these, all in a bunch, and are lvl 29-30. They wander around this cave area, and inside the cave. As a warlock I was able to Rain of Fire...mages wil have their AOEs. The entrance to the "cave" its not really a cave but you get the idea is 78,81. Diathonus the Seeker is on a balcony at 79,81. Its a good idea to set your Hearthstone to Astranaar as its a pain to fight your way out.

Did this as a 29 rogue with a 26 shaman. Found Gorgannon at the very eastern part of Demon Fall Canyon - cleared the mannarocs around him and then took down Gorgannon in about 10 seconds. Diathorus was harder to find since i was a moron and didn't see the ramp next to the monument in the very western part of Demon Fall Canyon. Went down the into the tomb and took him out. It's a good idea to clear the areas around these guys as best you can, since they call for help and any mob in the vicinity agro's. Overall a pretty east quest tho.

Ok, I am going to try to clear this quest up a bit, because it is confusing.

First off Gorgannon and Diathorus Are no where near each other.

The way to Gorgannon is very easy to find (as the older posts in this thread seem to indicate). There is a ramp in Demon Fall Canyon that leads to the SE and to Gorgannon. This ramp is very clear on your mini-map and even the main map. This SE ramp leads to Felfire Hill (on the large map, even before you go there the large map should have a picture of a hut in the far SE). Thats where Gargannon is.

Now, the route to Diathorus is visible (barely, and only if you know what to ook for) on the mini-map. IMHO it is not visible on the full map. The route is another ramp leading up, but this time the ramp starts out head NW (well, almost just west, but .. some north too). Blizzard tried real hard to make it visible, but somehow failed. My best advice for finding it is this: Stand on the east side of the monument to Grom Hellscream, and face north. Straight in front of you on the ground should be a tiny glowing obelisk thing. The ramp up starts there. There are more obelisk things along the path. Very hard to miss once you've seen it once. Anyway, this ramp leads up to a raised plateau and at the end of it there is a building leading dwon into a cave (yes, the person who posted about a cave was not smokin crack). The layout of the cave is the same as for the Insane Druids quest or the Sleeping Druids one from teladrassil. I did not find Diathorus on the balconey, but in that same area, but on the ground level. I do not know if his spawn spot is random or not, but he is in that cave.

Soloed Diathorus at lvl 28, he was very easy for me.
The only tough part is the Felhounds, though I've found that the best strategy is just to send my pet into the packs of them and take them out one by one instead of shooting first then sending the pet.

I had a hard time finding the guy in the cave...died 3 times as a 29 hunter when those damnable legion hounds came up behind me. As long as I saw them (the hounds) first, I was ok, but if they agro'd on me instead of my pet, I was toast.
I really should have waited 1 more lvl for feign death...that would have saved me a lot of walking from GY to cave (and i think 30 is also when we get track demons..not sure about that and too lazy to look it up since I finally completed it).

For twinks who wants minimum exp. You just need to do Diabolical Plans - Diabolical Plans to get this quest. Destroy the Legion is not part of the quest chain.
