Wow, I'm totally stuck in the air, i got shot down, but didn't fall, I'm stuck as if I'm still in it. Can't hearth, can't mount up.

I could try logging, but there is probably a 1000+ queue atm, so I have to wait for a GM. Could be hours...grrrr

The vehicle has 3 "modes" which are controlled by the buttons 4 5 and 6 (assuming you havn't made some sort of wierd key bindings change/addon. I'm using Bartender4 and it shows up this way)

Mode 1(key 4) is Anti-Air. Use this to shoot down the gargoyles. 1 is a basic rocket, 2 shoots several rockets.

Mode 2 (key 5) is bombing. Use this to bomb the ground targets. 1 is the bomb, I don't think there was anything on 2.

Mode 3 (key 6) is repair mode. Use this to charge your shield (aka healthbar) and put out fires. You'll get a message when there is a fire.

My basic strategy was to go into bombing mode until I started getting shot, then switch to anti-air to defend myself while going into repair as needed.

If you screw it up and get shot down (or you don't kill all the targets in a single run) you get a debuff that lasts an hour called "flight orders". It stacks based on how many times in a row you failed. (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=61281). It went away when I turned it in, but it may have some effect on the daily quests you get after.

Totally bugged for me... I had to spam the buttons if I wanted anything to happen at all, and I could not switch modes, so I failed about 8 times.

Yup badly bugged for me too.....clicked the "anti-air" button 30 or 40 times before it finally switched to anti air mode and then no matter what I clicked I couldnt fire anything or switch modes to repair or charge shields. getting blown up seems to be the only outcome for this quest right now. Abandon it.

On a related note, when you dont finish you get a debuff called "flight orders" which lasts an hour and displays how many times you've flown without completing the quest. Don't think it has any actual effect on your toon but it pretty much ads insult to injury =/

This quest made me angy..... Abandon it!

This quest is bugged for me to an extent. First time around I couldn't do anything, repair, anti-air, anti-ground...nothing. Second time around, I had to spam like crazy to switch to anti-air, then spam some more to fire any rockets. I'm just going to wait till this quest is fixed up.

What's the trick? When flying, I can't make any of the commands work - and while I'm not the only one, some people are successful.

Yeah, this quest is bugged pretty bad.

You randomly get kicked out of Infra-green mode, which stops you from switching weapon modes, and, even if you're in an attack mode, you can no longer see gargoyles, and your ground scourge kills don't count.

Just tough it out and keep riding the bomber until you finish.

Wow this quest is stupid, I started it 4-5 times and only one of the times did I actually get to use some of the skills. For about 20 seconds, then it bugged again .. Dont bother with this %^&* until its fixed.

pretty fun quest.

when u first start off be in gunner mode 4 i think and use button 1 to shoot a big group of gargoyles so you can be relatively clear for your first bombing run. The gunner turrent does swing 360 degrees as well as up and down.

once the first gargoyle group is shot down switch to bomber mode and start dropping bombs. the control is limited as far as aiming goes but you can move the mouse to aim also.

while bombing if you hear a shriek or electrical charges you are being attack so you need to switch back to gunner mode and shoot any gargoyles around you. they are usually on your tail.

once in a while you will need to go into repair mode to charge your shield which is button 1 if you are under heavy gargoyle attack. If there is a fire use button 2 to put the fire out.

took me 2 tries before figuring it out. hope this helps a bit.

2 doesnt shoot several rockets, it reloads ur rockets. 1 shoots 1 rocket and each costs 1 mana. u have like 12 mp, so if u r firing fast and u run out of mana (rockets), then hit 2 and u will be back to full mp.

I had to turn off my mods to get the targetting/shooting to work for this quest. I did 3 runs where I couldn't get anything to happen before I decided to see if it was a mod problem.

Other vehicle quests worked fine for me with my addon (I use dominos) but for some reason I have to turn it off to do this quest.

I am findign these missions to be very buggy. First off, my bomber keeps getting stuck in one mode. I try to switch to another mode, the button blinks and the CD activates, but I am stuck in the mode. So if I am bombing, I cant repair or defend.

Second, I cant seem to get reliable credit for captains. I tried bombing the abominations but after 20-30, not a single one gave credit. Also, I was gettign credit almost randomly, sometimes shooting gargoyles, somtimes dropping bombs. Makes it rather confusing.

I'm really not liking this quest.

Only addon I had on was QuestHelper (literally everything else off)
Tried 2x in a row and had a very buggy experience with the vehicle bar, 99% of the time the buttons wouldn't work.
Turned off QuestHelper and tried again, worked perfectly, weird.

This is probably the most annoying quest in all of Icecrown because of the hour debuff that you get if you do not complete the quest on your first run. It takes at least 2-3 runs just to get the controls down so you even know what to do. So be warned, don't think that this one is going to be completed quickly.

Also, does anyone know if completing this quest opens up more? I am down to 7 quests left to complete the Icecrown achievement. And I have this one and "Basic Chemistry" left. I cant seem to find any others.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Be aware that ur camera may become stuck above the platform with the questgiver when u exit the vehicle after the tour has ended... though u can still control ur caracter running around on the platform, atleast thats what I experienced.

The only thing that could solve the problem for me, was to exit the game, and log on again.

Fringe Engineer Tezzla is located ABOVE the Bone Sentinels. Land on the platform a bunch of NPCs appear.

After killing all u need u can simply click "Exit" button, and a rescue ship will catch you. it is faster way to get back to Quest giver than waiting inside your bomber.

I noticed that my rockets wouldn't hit the gargoyles. Thought it was bugged but when i swiched on PvP and then it worked, so:

Switch PvP on to be able to kill Gargoyles

The bomber has three sets of abilities - bombing (to kill ground units), missiles (to kill air units) and defense. Use the 4 (missile), 5 (bomb) and 6 (defense) buttons to toggle which mode you want to be in.

You start in Defense mode. Pressing 1 adds damage resistance to your shield (there is a buff up near your mini-map showing number of charges left). The more charges you have, the less damage you take. Pressing 2 puts out fires on your plane - if you have a lot of fire, you'll need to hit it multiple times.

In bombing mode, you get a reticule that lets you drop bombs WWII style on ground units by pressing 1.

In missile mode you get flak that can be used against air targets by pressing 1. You'll get an arced yellow line that shows where it will hit. You only need to be close to your targets - the flak explodes in a radius. I recommend spamming it a bit.

My basic strat on all the flying missions (there are three I think that use this plane) is to begin with bombing ground units. You'll know when you've run into air units because you'll hear explosions and be able to see your infra-green shield. Swap to missiles and kill the air units before repairing - they go down pretty fast if you spam the button. Put out fires and charge shield. Go back to ground units unless you're under fire again. The missions are long, so you have plenty of time to kill everything. The 1 button is your main ability, no matter what mode you are in, which makes it easy to use.

As an aside, I believe it is possible to damage opposing faction planes. An Alliance and I traded fire (on a PvE server) and both planes seemed to go up in flames pretty fast. However, since we were both engaged with air units, I can't confirm 100%.

EDIT: Confirmed on the following mission that you can shoot down opposing factions and fairly easily if you catch them unawares. This does not flag you pvp. To the guy I shot down - sorry! It was in the name of science =(

I installed our infra-green technology into commandeered bombers; it'll protect you on your first mission into enemy territory! Speak with Rizzy Ratchwiggle to get a bomber, then fly into The Bombardment!

You'll have bombs and rockets and shields. Keep the shields charged and use bombs on the ground Scourge at The Bombardment. Come back after you hit your targets, and more work will await you.
