Entrance to the Mord'rethar vault is at 63, 62. Coprous has ~107k hp, can be snared and stunned. He melees fairly hard and has an acid spray that hits multiple times for a decent amount of damage (not just in melee range, this seems to be a change from beta). Ranged classes can solo him with caution, melee types will probably want to bring a healer.

Acid Geyser is NOT melee range only, it affects a cone infront of him similar to the bog lords in SSC.

I did this solo as a Frostfire Mage. Any Arcane or Frost Mage shold be able to do this as well, but Fire is out the door. You need to have at least 3/3 Permafrost.

Coprous is inside the fortress in the large room with several pillars. There are skeletons on one side of the room, while the other side is empty. You should kill the patrols before engaging him.

He hits very hard melee, and you're only going to be able to soak about two to three hits before you drop dead. As cerebus295 said, the Acid Geyser is going to hit you if you are in line of sight. Therefore it's ideal to kite him around the pillars and take shelter behind them when he channels this ability. Your shield can soak some of the damage, but taking a full Acid Geyser is going to wear you down in the length.

The challenge is to keep him rooted or slowed in combination with hiding behind pillars on random occassions when he does his geyser. As a group, you should have your range near a pillar so they can take cover during the geyser and save healing.

Soloed as a DK (frost DPS) in tanking gear. Started with Army of the Dead and ghoul (tok him down nearly 50%), then popped Icebound Fortitude and used Death Strike on every chance. Had to use a heal potion, and it was all a very close call (had ~2k health left).

No idea what his supposed weakness is...

Soloed him as a ret paladin. Used hoj then dpsed, when i was at low hp, i used repentence. I healed myself, waited for hoj, and again dps->repentence->heal. Repeat a few times and he is dead. He hits very hard on plate, around 3500-4000.

just soloed him as an unholy dk using the same strategy as asherett execpt just stayed in dps gear and burned him down. Didn't even bother running away from the acid. Just spammed death strike when it was up and popped a potion half way through.

His Acid Geyser is Spell Reflectable (but he hits for 2.5 - 3k on a Prot warrior geared in heroic-blues/epics which makes him hard to solo).

Soloed as an 80 unholy dk. Kept diseases on him, death and decay'd on top of a pillar and then kited him around it while my ghoul beat on him.

Nearly killed him solo, 80 UH DK sans ghoul, need to run by some humanoid and grab a ghoul for round 2.

Army of the Dead and beat the stuffing out of him in frost presence, IBF when initial bone armor wears off, renew bone armor when IBF goes down, keep a pot and rune tap on hand it will help. I had 11K HP to go when I went down, but I flubbed up and went into battle with bone armor down.

Also, Death strike for your FU when he's attacking you, not SS.

Just soloed him as an ehance shammy. All I did was just kite him around a pillar and use frost shock and earthbind. You may take a few hits in the process but as others have stated, just heal LOS the acid spray and heal.

Solo'd with some effort on a restoration druid. He hit pretty hard on my 4.3k armor so keep up entangling roots and spam starfire/wrath. I killed the Plagued Fiend to his left and backed up toward the wall in that direction. When I ran out of room I walked around him and went back the other way to his spawn location. Rinse and repeat and you should get done before the non-elite respawns.

First of all to know is that the mob is kittabe. If you are druid(roots), mage(frost nova), warlock(felguard), priest(shakle), shaman(frost shock and totems) i believe you can solo him easely with healing potion and bandages, drain life and self healing. If you are a rogue or a warrior i dont believe you can out dps him, since his health is 100k+.

Second is that wile soloing the mob you must make sure as less as possible acid spit thicks hit you wich is avoided simply by going around a pillar. Whatever (not self healing) class you are you must avoid the acid spit because it will kill you before you damage him down.

Acid spit - 600-700 nature dmg per sec. He cast it every 20 secods.
Melle swing on plate - 1400-1600physical dmg. Average attackspeed 2 3 seconds per swing.

I soloed it on my second try with Deathknight with dps gear on unholy/blood tanking spec in frost precence(23k armor,13dodge,9parry). Basically i tryed to spam my rune restoring cooldown in order to do as much death strikes as possible and runing behind pillar as soon as i can. Using the ghould to heal yourself is not a bad idea at all, at least it saved my ass from being kicked. When you merge all this with army of death at the right point(during acid spid and behind the pillar) you are good to go.

Solo DK strat no matter what your spec is.

1. Clear area around pillar
2. IT then Chains to root
3. Kite around pillar
4. Use DC to dump your RP
5. Goto 2
6. Profit

Remember to LOS acid and feel free to use army at some point while he's casting it.

This might sound weird, but I just solo'd it as a Prot Warrior in Naxx10 Gear.
Use your stuns at all times, but there is a key that makes this fight totally easy.
I wouldn't have been able to beat him without his Acid Spray.
If you use Spell Reflect it reflects ALL of the spray. So you migitate around 7k damage and deal 7k to him. Very awesome.

This guy can be solo'ed as a priest by shackling him, but there are a couple of things to keep in mind. If you're a healing spec you probably don't have much hit rating on your gear, if any, so expect your shackles to miss fairly often. He also does a knockdown which can interrupt your shackle cast if you let him get in melee range. I'm Disc spec, but his melee attacks still broke through my PW: Shield very fast, so don't rely on your shield to let you cast for long. Even the time it takes waiting for the Holy Fire dot to wear off so you can reshackle him can be enough time for him to kill you.
My strategy was to clear a few of the mobs around him, then take him to the back corner of the room where none of the mobs spawn. I fought him by putting a PW:Shield up and a Prayer of Mending, casting Smite, Penance (Holy spec could do another Smite or a Mind Blast), then Shackle. As soon as the first cast of Shackle finished I started casting it again in case the first one missed. I then moved to max casting range and repeated the process, keeping him shackled for a while any time I needed to regen mana. Keep a close eye for shackle breaking early and try not to fight him when you have the weakened soul debuff, as a quick shield/shackle may be the only thing that saves you if he gets too close.

TLDR: Shackle works great, but be prepared for it to miss and break early at times.

I soloed this as a destruction lock, if you wanna do the same, here's some advice for what to do:
1) Use a voidwalker and SPAM health funnel, don't stop
2) While he does his Acid Geyser, cast drain life/lolcoil/use lifeblood, healthstones or pots.
3) After that keep spamming health funnel again. and keep doing this till he dies

Just soloed him straight up as a blood/frost DK. Used frost presence and sit around 26k hps and armor but he still hits pretty hard. Death pacted my ghoul early in the fight when I saw health dropping fast then tried to break LoS when he did acid attack but it didn't stop him. Decided to drop army of the dead and went to town - never got me below 50% again.

Killed him on the 4th try as a level 79 aff/dem Warlock.
Whenever he did Acid Geyser I took cover behind a pillar and pulled BACK my Felguard.

I solo'd this quest on a Boomkin druid in mostly healer gear.
I don't know if there are other classes that can spam a root like Entangling Roots but it sure helps to have one.
He hits like a truck on leather and even in boomkin form he hits over 2-3k's (15k armor at the time wich is roughly 50% damage reduction).

I kept attacking and rooting like this

Start out : Starfire
Entangling roots > Wrath > Starfire > (Entangling roots wears off) Entangling Roots > Wrath > Starfire etc. etc.

Replacing Starfire with Entangling Roots anytime Wrath critted and broke the entangling roots.

Anytime he started acid spitting I dropped down by 1-2k per second and strangely enough hiding behind a pilar protected me and allowed me to be topping my health off with rejuvenation, regrowth, bandage, eating or whatever before he was even close to finishing the channel.

It took me roughly 2 minutes to kill this guy but it was pretty much worth it as it is hard to get people to help you at 8 in the morning.

I don't believe this is easy to solo as a mage or any other caster that doesn't have a reliable root (Frost nova is a long cooldown and only 8 seconds I believe) unless you really know how to play and are a bit lucky with his acid spit.

so basically.. keep your distance. and hide from the acid spits and you should be able to solo this.

I soloed this as a DK, with decent tanking gear on. 24k HP, 470 def.. nothing special at all.

He hits for very hard, crits for even harder. 2k~ hits, critted me for 5k~.

You can Anti-Magic Shield/Zone to avoid acid-spray damage.

Like any other elite, keep that Death Strike going, with diseases at all times. I had to potion and sac pet, but finished it.

Tried to solo as demo lock in naxx 10/25 gear, no luck - the acid spray always targets me (not my pet) and makes him aggro me. I only had curse of weakness and corruption up.

Soloed as a PvP specced affli lock with VW. This is how i did it : First clear the left side of the room and the two adds standing besides him, then create a health stone and put up ur demonc circle near the entrance.

Let your VW tank him for a couple of seconds to fully DoT Coprous (don't even try to let your VW tank him cause he hits waaaay to hard) then put Curse of >>Exhaustion<< on him and kite him around a bit and when he gets in melee range teleport to your demonic circle and reDoT him and try to gain some range, the 2nd time he gets in melee range use the VW's sacrifice spell and health stone/pot if needed and by now he shouldve started channeling his acid-spray ability when he does just run away from him and reDoT and then repeat whats written above, it can be quite hard and it took me a couple of tries because i got another mob when i was kiting Coprous.

And remember to always keep up Corruption and Curse of Exhaustion up. Anyways good luck :).

Just soloed as a shadow priest, without using shackle undead. Just went there put up shield, and VE on him, then nuke. When i was low on health used Prayer of mending and 2 flash heals.

Just soloed him as Bm hunter, really hard though. pet got hit for alot of dmg and died eventually, but just used frost trap near a pillar and walked around it as he followed me around, used concussive shot and some other spells and then he was down. Downed him the first time. :)

Solo'ed as an enhancement shammy. He hits fairly hard, thus I had to use earth elemental totem to be sure. Pop feral spirit, keep cleansing totem up, use BL and you'll be good to go.

Soloed as elemental shaman. He hits me for around 4k so I had to use the earth elemental totem as a tank. A bonus with that is that the elemental is immune to his acid geyser.

Can be knocked away with thunderstorm and slowed with earthbind/frost shock if needed.

Soloed As a 80 lvl Combat rogue. It was a hard fight. Start up with Cheap shot then go 5 point Kidney Shot > Killing Spree> Evasion> Adrenaline Rush> 5 point evis> 5 Point evis> Cloak Of shadows (when he starts that poison) 5 Point evis. Though sometimes he's immune or smth to kidney shot thats why i died on him like 4 times.

Tried to solo as a 79 BE Prot pally.
20k health 20k armor 509 defense
Spent most of the time just trying to stay alive.
Can't live long enough get him lower than 70% health, even running around pillars during acid spray.
He melee swings for 2.5k per swing. Crits for 5-6k.
Stuns and turn undead both work. He just hits too hard.

Pretty easy solo for 80 Unholy DK, wearing ~23k HP, ~20k armor, crit immune in tank gear. Didn't even see the others behind the pillars flanking him so ended up fighting all three at once.

Started in Frost Presence and used Army of the Dead. Best part of AotD is that it will eat an Acid Geyser, and an AMS will absorb most of the second. Third hit me full on, got me down to around 10k and that's about the time he died. Not too bad if you manage your CDs well.

This quest IS soloable by a feral druid(which is all I've tested it with)

He does basic attacks that hit me for approx 1700 each(65% mitigation).
A 3 second stun.
Acid Spitting. Last about 10 seconds and has unlimited range as far as I can tell.(extreem damage)

He is stunable, rootable and his acid spit can be LOSd around the pillars in the room.
