Any one else feeling a ToTP 3 reference here or is it just me. But when Highlord Darion Mograine says “I can see as clearly now as the day that I plunged the Ashbringer into my own heart to free my father's cursed soul” it feels like the scene from the movie when Mograine said that the only way the sword could be purified was if he was killed by The Ashbringer then he and his killer would fuse together and the blade would go on.

Simple returning to Acherus doesn't work here - you have to return to it by using Death Gate spell

hey when i accepted this quest, i cast Death Gate, and i couldnt talk to Highlord Darion Mograine... i abandoned the quest and i still couldnt talk to him, can some1 plz tell me why this is happening?

It is possible to walk back and take a bone griffon to get back to Acherus. In this case you can runeforge your new blade before fighting with Patchwerk. When you are done runforging, simply open the Death Gate, click on it and continue with your quest chain.

This allows you to skip going back to Acherus from Stormwind/Ogrimmar for runforging and jump straight to the Dark Portal instead.

The portal just sits there until it eventually fades. If I walk into it, I just walk out the other side. What's supposed to happen?

UPDATE: run your cursor over it, find the cogwheel, right-click on it.

Use your Death Gate spell to return to Acherus: The Ebon Hold. Report to Highlord Darion Mograine once you arrive.

Descrizione

The haze has been lifted. I can see as clearly now as the day that I plunged the Ashbringer into my own heart to free my father's cursed soul: my last memory as a free man.

We must take back Acherus from the Scourge if our order is to survive in this new world. I have taught you how to call forth a death gate. The death gate will return you to Acherus when you call upon it, <name>. Use it now and meet me at Acherus. The first battle of the Knights of the Ebon Blade is underway! Death to the Scourge!
