If you wait about 10 seconds, Rhydian will wander over and open up a portal to Shattrath for you right next to you.

A Blood Elf of the Kirin Tor walks up when you accept this Quest and opens a portal to Shattrath. When you accept the next quest, A'dal teleports you to Dalaran. From there you can fly to Crusaders' Pinnacle, and then onto Bridenbad at 79,30.

This quest does not count for the loremaster achievement.

Ah, I have to edit myself here. When you speak to A'dal and actually finish this quest, it won't count.
My quest count was still stuck on 138/140.

But when you deliver the followup The Boon of A'dal you'll get two quests complete and I got the achievement.

I cannot impress how important it is that you move quickly

I wish they would stop saying that in so many quests. Every time I get a feeling how full of it they are, you can wait years if you want, the NPC will be there for you.
Instead of increasing the role playing sensation, they are ruining it completely.

For those that didn't know, this quest line was a dedication to a one Brad Bridenbecker, brother to Rob Bridenbecker VP of Online Technologies. Brad had suffered from cancer and was an avid WoW player. His brother requested some memorial be set up for his brother and Chris Metzen, along with others, thought up this quest line to immortalize his battle with cancer within our beloved fantasy realm.

Hats off to you, Blizzard, Chris Metzen, and the whole Bridenbecker family. As a childhood cancer survivor myself, you have my utmost respect and loyalty to your honor and vision. You've truly epitomized the struggle of one going through the sickness, the battle, in the most accurate way possible, and bring honor to all of us who have suffered, and have watched those who have suffered, the same battle.

Remember, wait a little bit after accepting. I got it and started hearthing, and then 9.99 seconds in, I see an npc tell me he wants to port me.

I think that this quest was updated for impatient players, I just did it and looking at the last comments it seems you had to wait for a portal that was accessible to anyone. After accepting the next quest, I was immediately teleported instead of waiting for a portal.

What to do:

1. Straight after u've taken the quest wait for 'em to summon tp to shattrah
2. Go speak to A'dal, He is in the mid of the big room where u arrive
3. Done

Go now to Shattrath and speak to the naaru, A'dal. He has long been a beacon of light and powerful ally to devout paladins. Impart Bridenbrad's story and seek any aid that he might have to offer.

I cannot impress how important it is that you move quickly - I fear our crusader does not have much more time in this world.
