Despite how exciting the quest may seem lorewise, it's actually quite a disappointment. Basically you end up using the new phasing mechanic to enter a parallel Shrine of Remulos that has the same terrain, a greenish fade filter, and some plant mobs that turn into clones of you when aggroed. You find the acorn, loot it, and then remove the sleeping buff and you're done.

If you move just after accepting this quest, it cancels the casting of the portal back to Icecrown. You then have to abandon the quest and re-accept it from Remulos and let the cast complete before it will appear to his right.

To open the portal following:

Stand right infront of him when you take the quest, almost like you should kiss him or else the portal wont open.
If you already have taken the quest, then re-take it

It appears that this quest and the previous don't count towards any achievements at all, not for WTLK neither for Kalimdor nor for general quests.

Any druids thinking of using this portal as a quick jump to nothrend? Just teleport to moonglade then accept the quest for the portal and abandon afterward. Rinse and repeat as needed.

Edit: final quest is "light within the darkness" depending on what you would rather have. Missing out on that loot and a bunch of argent crusade rep or a quick portal to nothrend.

So here's an interesting tidbit:

I couldn't get the portal to open that Remulos is supposed to make, and after abandoning the quest and retaking it three times, I decided to hearth back to Dalaran and just fly the rest of my way on my swift flyer. Bad, bad choice. The quest will remain uncompleted unless you take the portal back, which he's got issues about summoning. Great.

As a druid who can teleport to moonglade, abandoning and taking this quest again seems like an easy way to get to Northrend. The portal takes you to a corner of Icecrown very close to Dalaran.

Long story short I had deleted the seed for the quest and had gone to hand it a more than once and could not grasp why it was marked completed, but could never finish it.

Going back to moonglade is a pita, but he dose re-open a portal back to Arch Druid Lilliandra so if you need to burn your hearth to get too moonglade you still do have a free ride back to northrend.

It made a 45 trip into less than 10. Flying from darn/tb to moonglade being the largest chunk.

...so druid's wanting an any-time free trip to northrend between 77 and 80 can keep abandoning this quest over and over utilizing Teleport: Moonglade

As previously noted, there is a problem with the portal spawning for this quest. I asked a GM about it and got a respose noting that if you move shortly after accepting the quest or if you are mounted while accepting the quest it won't spawn properly.

Not only is this quest incredibly helpful for druids (Moonglade port, start quest, use portal, abandon quest), it also works while in a raid, just tested this.

For those that didn't know, this quest line was a dedication to a one Brad Bridenbecker, brother to Rob Bridenbecker VP of Online Technologies. Brad had suffered from cancer and was an avid WoW player. His brother requested some memorial be set up for his brother and Chris Metzen, along with others, thought up this quest line to immortalize his battle with cancer within our beloved fantasy realm.

Hats off to you, Blizzard, Chris Metzen, and the whole Bridenbecker family. As a childhood cancer survivor myself, you have my utmost respect and loyalty to your honor and vision. You've truly epitomized the struggle of one going through the sickness, the battle, in the most accurate way possible, and bring honor to all of us who have suffered, and have watched those who have suffered, the same battle.

While the typo was fixed the glitch with the portal is still there.

While i understand the deep and meaningful reason for this quest and i respect it, the typo, the planting the seed quote, and the fact that inorder to get the portal working one must basicly put their face in an elf-deer man's crotch IS funny when viewed all together.

All together though, R.I.P. Brad.

Fun fact: if you're a druid, the little nightmare monsters that look like walking plants turn into a shadow version of the shape you're in when you start fighting them. If you're in cat form, they'll be cats, if in bear form, bears, etc. They keep that shape the whole time you're fighting them; one time I started out in elf form and changed to cat during the fight, and the nightmare stayed in elf form.

druids, listen up, i kinda abuse this quest as an allmost hs, just grab the quest, and never abandon it.

heres how to use it
1) cast teleport: moonglade
2) go speak to remolous
3) tell him to make another portal for you
4) bam, your back in icecrown! =)

but i kinda wanna finish the quest, because its so awesome D=

The additional notes apply to if you are on a mount that has it's on hp as well.

The quest chain does not end with The Boon of Remulos. There is another after it called Time Yet Remains where you have to report back to Highlord Tirion, at Crusaders' Pinnacle, with the news of the Emerald Acorn's effects. Reward 74 Silver 10 faction with Argent Crusade and 2200 xp and another quest in the chain "The Touch of an Aspect" where you have to go to Wyrmrest Temple and ask the aid of the Dragon Queen Alexstrasza which when completed gives you 150 rep with Argent Crusade 5 Gold 80 Silver and 16550 xp and yet another quest in the chain "Dahlia's Tears" Get a Dahlia's Tears spawn from ground where Ruby Dragons have burned some Scourge at entrance to Ruby Dragonshrine and return to Queen Alexstrasza for 7 Gold 40 Silver 22050 xp and 150 rep with Argent Crusade and another quest "The Boon of Alexstrasza where you take the Breath of Alexstrasza back to Crusader Bridenbrad in Icecrown for 13 Gold 23 Silver 250 rep with Argent Crusade unknown xp (I dinged 80 on last turn in) and another quest in the chain "Hope Yet Remains" Return to Highlord Tirion Fordring with the news of the effects of the Breath of Alexstrasza for 1 Gold 32 Silver and 10 rep with Argent Crusade and another quest "The Will of the Naaru" go to A'dal in Shattrah City (he makes a portal to Shattrah) turn in quest to A'dal and recieve 9 Gold 93 Silver (at level 80) and 150 rep with Argent Crusade and another quest "The Boon of A'dal" requiring you to return to Crusader Bridenbrad in Icecrown accepting quest ports you to Dalaran. Fly back to Crusader Bridenbrad turn in quest for 13 Gold 23 Silver and 250 rep with Argent Crusade and a cool show. A'Dal M'ori and K'uri show up and lift Bridenbrad up in a light leaving another quest "Bridenbrad's Possessions (box on ground)" accept quest "light Within the Darkness" Return Crusader Bridenbrad's Talbard to Highlord Tirion Fordring for 22 G 20 Silver and your choice of Bridenbrad's Sash, Belt of the Never Forgotten, Chained Belt of Remembrance, Girdle of Eternal Memory or Signet of Bridenbrad and 500 rep with Argent Crusade. End of Quest Line

I never could get the portal to appear. I abandoned and reaccepted the quest probably five times, made sure I wasn't mounted and didn't move...no joy. So I just hearthed to Dalaran. *shrug*

80, 30 in Icecrown. He's on the ground, so if you're high up on a flyer, you may not see him.
