The entrance to the cave is 55, 63 (As mentioned in a previous comment), and once inside the cave, the bear you are looking for this quest objective is at 54.77, 60.37

Yeh, the bear will run back to the city. Think I found a bug here too. I Double clicked the bear and it spawned 3 bears that ran back...

Enter the cave at 55,63.

Take the far left path and fight mobs along the cave wall.

Eventually you will stumble across a large white bear laying on the ground which you are able to ride.

Simply hop on the bear, it is a vehicle and it will automatically ride back to the quest giver.

as usual everyone argues about a bunch crap that dont nothing to do with how you do the mission.. so heres the info

1: the cave is just north east of the E in (brunnhildar villagE) where the gaints and lvl 80 elite wolfs are that have like 25k health.

2: the bear is not just as you go in.. you see a bear there yes but its the wrong one. your lookin for the bear thats injured and is name Matriarch

3: all you do is click the bear and it automaticly takes you back to base.
quest is done.

for GODS sake people stop telling stupid stories about how good you are or how you soloed the freakin missions.. i see that crap on here all the time..

Just to add to Rolle's comment: you'll get your 8 Worms plus a few more. To all skinners: this is an excellent place to farm Jormungar Scales which sell for 1G to vendors and around 2G on the AH. Also a great item for leather workers!

First you have to kill all the worms for the quest The Slithering Darkness otherwise you have to go all the way back to kill them because when you mount the bear she takes you back to the quest giver.

Haha! That bear has talents. Check your talents while riding it and you see bears talents below yours, just like hunters do.

Because we all know throwing a harness on and then proceeding to jump on a downed polar bear will result in it getting up immediately and responding to your commands!

When you go to mount the bear double right click fast and you get an extra bear. good for taking the aggro on the way back.

Remember to kill the snakes for quest "The Slithering Darkness" before mounting on the bear unless you want to do two trips.

no need to get extra bears. It will take you back to the village safely. :)

I found the matriach in the cave and it rode itself back to the village - no "quest completed" dialog - what gives ?

For as long as I can remember, we've obtained our best bears from the Hibernal Cave to the east.

Those times might finally be gone. The cave has been overrun by ravenous jormungar and the wild bears are all but extinct.

If you were to find a surviving matriarch, however, I would guarantee you that she would fight better than any of these bears born in captivity.

Take this harness to the Hibernal Cave and rescue a surviving matriarch. Good luck finding one.
