A few notes.

This quest is only available before the battle for Light's Chapel begins, and it is available every 10 minutes or so. If you miss it the first time wait around for a few and it will become available again. If you ride into battle without the quest return to the mill to get the quest. You CAN NOT leave the starting zone without completing this quest.

It is also important to get back to the mill rather quickly, once the DKs that had the quest begin to disappear run back to the mill. Soon after that the members of the light will again become hostile.

Other than that this is just a fun story quest. You become immensely powerful for a short period of time, so have fun watching the big numbers go up. The story bit is long but entertaining, although you can only tell what is going on if you have the quest.

After this quest is completed when returning Ebon Hold will no longer be the domain of the Lich King.

Both weapon rewards are good, and it really depends on what you plan to do. The sword is great for Blood, and the axe is better for tanking/frost due to the higher stamina.

just participate in the fight and at the end you will hand the quest over at Darion on the same place where the battle took place. After that you'll feint and be transported to Ebon Hold.

This quest is currently bugged on the EU beta server as of 12th september and will not complete for anyone, even if the event occurs.

This has resulted in loads of Death knights being stuck in the starting area.

As of the most recent BETA build, this quest actually starts from Scourge Commander Thalan, who can be found at Browman Mill where the event begins, and NOT from Highlord Darion Mograine.

Mograine does end the quest, however.

When you turn in your quest to Thalanaar, you have to wait for the four horsemen to show up right near him. It may take them a while to return. One is Mograine. TALK to him to get the quest started. See the writing in your upper screen to see when it starts. Then follow the mobs over to the battle area. When the long battle is done you will receive a choice of weapon and the item to port you to Eden Hold. It is actually a skill. Look for it in your spell book and stick it on your action bar. Click it to open a shadowy portal, then R click on the portal to go to the hold.

Is this quest repeatable? I got the quest while someone else was doing it I guess and I went to get my stuff repaired and all of a sudden it said I had completed it. I talked to the guy and I had to choose my reward. I want to do it though! Is there any way that I can? Anyone know? Ok... it's been said many times many ways but I'll throw it out there again since some of the above comments indicate people still think there is some serious problem worth cursing Blizzard over.

If you take this quest and then it gets completed by other people you will be given credit for it's completion whether you actually took part or not. If you take the quest and it shows completed before you take part you are *NOT* (I say again: *NOT*) prevented from taking part. If this happens (and assuming you wanted to take part) you have two main options:

First Option: abandon the quest and retake it. Then run to the appropriate location and wait for it to start.

Second Option: It is also reported that you can just hang on to the quest in it's completed form and wait for the quest to reset on its own, take part in the battle, and THEN turn it in. This may cause problems if your the only one around making it so you cannot actually tell Mograin you are ready. I dunno if this is the case or not as I chose to abandon and retake it myself (can any one confirm?).

Notes:

If there are any less than 300 Argent Dawn shown then the battle has already begun.
If you see "battle starts in XX minutes" then another player is already there and about to start the battle.
It takes about 2 minutes on your mount to get there from where the quest is given at Death's Breach by Mograine.
The quest can also be taken from Scourge Commander Thalanor at the location of the actual battle, eliminating the need to rush to get to the battleground.
If you don't have enough time to do what you need and get there or it has already begun then you can abandon the quest and take it again in about 5 minutes.
Even if you have already gotten credit for the quest's completion you can abandon it and retake it

In fact I'm not sure you even have to have the quest to take part in the battle so long as you have reached the point where the quest is available and have not turned it in. Blizzard *should*, however, make it so you are not considered to have the quest until you talk to Mograine *at the battleground* to fix the minor annoyance of having to drop the quest and retake.

Hope this clears up the confusion.

In addition to the epic and fun battle sequence, Mograine's speech at the beginning clears up the pronunciation of 'Acherus' if that had been confusing you... I'd been saying 'Asherus' until I heard him say it properly.

Several points of the DK line bugged out for me, so much so that I deleted my first two DKs in frustration.

To all those people, who like me, missed out on the big event because another person had already completed it. You -can- turn the quest in, just don't complete the next part ie. use your dark portal to go back to ebon hold. Just stick around and hopefully another person will start the event again promptly. Enjoy the show!

one thing to note: if you have the talent that lets u have a perma-ghoul.. dont summon it or it will be 1 hitted as it does not get the might of mograine buff

Best quest in the game. Props to Blizz for making such a lore-based class. I absolutely loved this battle sequence.

For help, go to Browman Mill and you'll find Mograine there.
DO NOT read any summaries for this quest. huge spoiler alert.
If there is a message saying the numbers left of Scourge and Scarlet with x minutes until battle begins.
Someone is already on the quest. talk to Mograine and prepare yourself for the best quest in wow Lore.

The final Death Knight quest in the chain is not a disappointment.

You have to talk to Mograine and tell him you are ready then there will be 5 minutes to wait before the battle starts.
In the battle just attack the Level 57 elites until they get to 175 Alliance. Then there's a sort of cut-scene which goes on for ages and then you can hand in.

Underneath the chapel is a catacomb which houses the remains of the heroes of Lordaeron. Many of the remains were exhumed and moved to the chapel so they could not be resurrected in the service of the Lich King.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

Ok im sorry but this is NOT a 300 reference.... its more likely a lotr reference. In the second LOTR, Legolas says somthing like "Look at them. These men are frightened, I can see it in there eyes. And they should be. 300 men, against 10 000......"

Even if you have absolutely no interest whatsoever in playing a DK, like myself, you really should do the beginner area just for this quest. Easily one of the best quests and cutscenes in the whole game. It was totally worth it.

just to let ya all know you got a 5 min wait for this quest at begin then a 10 min scene at the end which is not a scene since it happens in game therefore un skipable

come on blizzard what where you thinking 5 mins of waiting followed by 5 mins of hitting 100-300 on elites with over 1000k health(you might aswell just stand back and watch to be honest or go and make a cup of tea even pop to shop hay knock ya self out) followed by a 10 mins story line

imo this is the most pointless quest in world could fitted it all in to a 3 min quest and saved every one a lot time

on + side easy since i do belive its imposible to die and does yeild a nice reward

I was a bit disappointed by this...not because of a wait or anything, but because I actually thought I was holding my own and was going to be able to kill Rimbalt, at the very least, before Mograine had his little panic attack and lost the battle for us. Too bad I can't just go and try and get my job back from the Lich King.

eventually the area resets and you get smashed in 2 hits by all the elites. Doesn't give you time to plan where to put those talent points.

This one was super confusing to me, From the mill you have to go South-East to where there is another building showing on the map to find Highlord Darion Mograine . Then when I talked to him it didn't give me any interaction options. While looking for this thread he vanished and I had to go back to where Scourge Commander Thalanor was in the mill and Mograine appeared there.

So to kind of give some better info on this given this quest is hecka confusing, it seems like in the classic version you are able to pick up the quest regardless of whether the battle has started or not. In which you have to wait at the mill for the DK's to respawn roughly every 10 minutes to start the battle to do the quest itself. In which there is a 5 minute waiting period before the battle begins and then your able to do the quest when it starts.

I'll give it to you straight up... You don't need to do jack.

Click Darion Mograine to signal you are ready. You'll then have to wait until the next battle cycle begins, about five minutes.

Ride on down to Light's Chapel once it begins. Hang around until the enemy are down to 195. Just do whatever. If bored go visit the refrigerator.

At 195 the fighting stops. Cut scene. The usual chopped up story telling and inscruitable dialogue.

The golden "?" appears for the quest hand in. Done.

The mighty armies of the Lich King stand at the ready as the final battle for the Plaguelands approaches. Today we ascend into the immortal realm of Scourge heroes!

When you are ready for battle, report to Highlord Darion Mograine. It is the highlord who will issue the final march orders and command our armies at Light's Hope Chapel.
