Just a note to the last comment, MC'ing another Blood-troll does work but make sure your past one dies... The first time I "released" him at 2%, he suddenly regained 100% HP and 2-hitted me basically. So yeah, solo-able but make sure your previous one is DEAD.

This is one quest I would wait till 77 to do so you can just fly away after you are done. I did it at 76 and knew I shouldn't use the item so I took the only other option besides using hearthstone which is to jump off the side. I landed where blizzard didn't like me to be so they ported my dead corpse to Warsong Hold.

After you teleport to the roof platform, your costume will fade and you will get a raid warning telling you it is time to use the scepter. Be sure to use it on one of the trolls along the outside of the platform, not Drakuru.

If you use the scepter too soon (before the raid warning), you will get control of a troll, but Drakuru will not attack. The troll will eventually despawn and then Drakuru will attack. The scepter has a longish cooldown, so you will be stuck soloing Drakuru. He simply stands in the center and casts shadow bolts and eventually Blight Crystals.

If you arrive on the platform while someone else is fighting Drakuru and use your scepter, you may end up in a similar situation after the other person is done.

After about 15 seconds, Drakuru will start throwing Blight Crystals at you. They explode on landing so you don't want to be standing where they hit. I was able to run in a big circle around the outside of the platform spamming the two troll attack powers for the entire fight.

Your pet has an ability that will heal you, but bring a healing pot or be prepared to heal yourself too.

You can group up and have two or more trolls attacking Drakuru at the same time, but someone will still be targeted for the Blight Crystals attack.

If you die, you will automatically resurrect at the Argent Stand graveyard (since there is no way you could get to your corpse), and you can just go back and restart the event.

Build 8926 and Drakuru's Last Wish is still bugged, but instead of teleporting you into the sea it cannot be looted and the only way down is to jump or fly or hearth.

If you have lost your Ensorcelled Choker, at this point you can't re-summon Vadu more than once, it seems, before you have to go all the way back to Ebon Watch to get another one. On top of that, he wasn't giving me the necklace unless I made sure I was UNMOUNTED. Just some things to keep in mind.

Today i tried to do this Quest and i failed by clicking Scepter too early.Boss got bugged (never started the event) so i thought its a good idea to jump from the citadel but i was unlucky again and landed on the balcony.When i released i was in ghost and unable to reach my body.

I could not enter citadel or something and none was there willing to ress me up.So i had 2 options.First to ress at Ress Spirit or talk to a gm and wait.

worst quest series till now for me (lvl 76).

the slaying 60 trolls-quest is still buggy and even this quest, the last quest, is buggy, too. you must not take this quest if anybody does the quest actually (he wont spawn right for you then). If this happens and you have no flying mount, there is no way to escape the necropolis.

I tried to solo this quest with my demo warlock. no chance. you cannot make any dmg (but DoTs) because you are all the time running and drain life (yes, even with the troll berzerk tanking). you will get 2k dmg every throw and your troll tank dies quickly. Chosing a second troll tank? Nice Idea, but the troll boy hits hard. With only 12k hit points you almost dead when you have finished casting (2sec). The next throw kills you.

After starting the quest for the third time he didnt say anything, the sequenz is not starting. So I decide to skip the final. Not worth for 1 hour of frustation.

It's a pity. The beginning of the quest series was great.

If you're going to do this, make sure no-one else has already started the event!

If you port to the roof while the event is in progress any Blightblood Troll you MC won't be able to attack Drakuru. You're then relying on the other person to defeat Drakuru and if they fail, Drakuru and the Blightblood Trolls will despawn and you'll be stuck on the roof. You'll either need to wait for someone else to restart the event (and again, be unable to attack him) or hearth / jump off and then bubble / levitate /slow fall / parachute cloak to safety.

My advice: wait a few moments before you accompany him to the roof and check for his rants in /yell, which will indicate the event is running.

Sadly, this the second event in as many days which I've joined that someone else had already started and ended up trapped due to flawed game design...

If the event has started and you are not coming out of disguise you can right click the buff to remove your disguise and your troll will attack.

No one bothered to say that after you get the guest and teleport inside again, the next thing to do is to speak with Drakuru after which you get teleported to roof.

After you start the quest from Stefan Vadu, head up and talk to Drakuru. This will teleport you to the top of the citadel.

As soon as you're at the top and he starts talking, you will get a message that your disguise is about to run out. DON'T PANIC! it's perfectly normal. Just run towards one of the spawned trolls and begin to use your scepter of domination to MC it.

Use the MC'd trolls abilities as soon as your able so he gets aggro. Keep stun up and avoid the places where Drakuru throws a gas bomb at you. If you take damage, just have your MC'd troll toss a heal. One of them isn't enough to get the job done so once your troll is around 5-10% hp, run towards the other troll and MC it as soon as your first one dies.

Again, use it's stun ability and its main damage attack whenever its up, toss a heal to you if you get too low. Drakaru should be around 35-40% hp at this point.

To recap:

Don't Panic if you get the message your disguise is about to fail. You can still use your scepter.
MC the spawned trolls as soon as you're able to.
When its almost dead, run towards the second summoned troll and MC it as soon as your first one is dead.

Does anyone know if you will be able to use the "Choker" and get back into your disguise after the quest chain is over? I like the "Bowls & Brains" and the "Plasma" you can get at the Scourge Vendor.

I'd like to be able to purchase these again, but fear that now that i am done with the quest chain I will not be able to, until my next toon gets to this point...

You can solo him with only one controlled troll, just let your troll pet attack him, spam all three abilities when they get off cd, and just run around edge of platform to avoid that gas thingies he throws on you.

Very easy with 2 people in a party:

Player#1: goes upstairs and talks to Drakuru, which teleports him/her to the roof and starts the event.

Player#2: goes upstairs and talks to Drakuru, which also teleport shim/her upstairs, but does not start the event.

Player#1: WAITS for the raid warning that the scourge outfit is about fail, and uses the taming rod to tame one of the four trolls.

Player #2: WAITS for the raid warning that the scourge outfit is about to fail, then uses the taming rod to tame one of the three remaining trolls.

Player #1: targets Drakuru and starts the fight, with troll attacking and the player dancing around to avoid crystals and puddles*.

Player #2: unable to target Drakuru, chills with his/her troll.

Player #1: tames one of the two remaining trolls when troll #1 is low on health. If you wait for your first troll to die, Drakuru will kill you. Attack Drakuru with your troll #2. Troll #1 will attack you.

Player#2: uses his/her troll to target and attack Player #1's Troll #1 that is weakened. Otherwise, the weakened troll kills Player #1 and the event fails (not all is lost, read on**).

Player#1: kills Drakuru with Troll #2, or Troll #3, if the first switch is not enough.

Drakuru: gets low on health, stops fighting and starts talking to the Lich King who appears on the roof.

Lich King: kills Drakuru, says something and disappears.

Drakuru's skull: lies on the roof for both players to loot. You get a skull and Drakuru's last wish, the item that takes you back down. Call the quest giver and grab your awesome reward.

* Player #2 can heal Player #1 during the fight.

** If the event fails, and Player #1 dies, Player #2 can just chill on the roof with his/her troll while Player #1 runs back and starts the event again.

What you will be doing in the quest :

1)Talk to the Drakuru, and tell him you are ready to accompany him.

2)You will be teleported to the top of the necropolis. Now your disguise should be failing, do not panic! Quickly tame a blightblood troll nearby and get ready.

3)Make your troll fight Drakuru, use the first two special abilities whenever possible. Dodge the crystals that Drakuru throw at you, they hurt bad and cause AoE upon landing. Do not fear to step further outside to evade crystals, the untamed trolls around will not aggro. If you are badly wounded, use the third special ability to heal yourself.

4)It is not likely that you can take Drakuru down with one single troll. When yours is low on health, approach a new one and get ready to tame it. You might want to protect yourself as much as possible(ie. potions) during this period, since Drakuru will be spamming shadowbolts on you which does a significant damage.

After the fight you will see the Lich King again......go get your necklace now!

Like alot of people I was having major trouble with this quest as well.

The problem is timing. Because his shadowbolts hits so hard and you have to turn your back to him to M/C another Troll, most will find themselves dead before you can get another one. Also if you M/C another Troll before the other is dead, then you find your old troll attacking you at full health!

So make it easy and group with someone. I grouped with another person and found that while Drakuru is able to fight both Trolls, he will generally only be able to focus on one. Thats good because it means your M/C Trolls will die at different times. This stops the direct shadowbots and means less crystal attacks when you or your group member are trying to M/Ci a new Troll. It also ends the possibility of M/Cing a Troll to soon!

When we (myself a 75 Hunter and a 77 Druid) did it, we send in our Trolls, his died, and he sent another one for a few second before the end of the fight. Mine never actually died because Drakuru wasn't focused on mine much.

It's not perfect I know, because it means both of you have to be at the end of a very long quest chain. But if your struggleing with it like I was, this might be your best option!

I don't mind hard quests but the penalty of failing / being victim of a bug on this one is too big, what with being sent to a cemetery far away with 3 npcs awaiting for you or committing suicide by falling & hurting the materials.

One should come back much nearer.

By the 4th time I thought I had the technique to succeed but luckily someone was already there and with 2 players it wasn't hard.

Thank god the quest reward is not that bad.

NOTE: If a group has just killed Drakuru, you can loot his skull and get the quest finished just like that. Of course, it's kinda anti-climatic.

Unlike pretty much everyone else, I didn't have a problem with this quest. Use every ability your troll has as soon as you can, run in circles, and try to be at max HP when your troll dies; you will have to get another one, and he will be hammering you while you are charming the next one. I might have gotten lucky, but I was able to do this on my first go. Good luck.

When I came up to this platform I ran into some opposing faction players who ganked me earlier while I was XP grinding. I wouldn't encourage doing it to anyone who didn't deserve it, but on a PVP realm you can use the trolls to kill PCs. The strong hit ability two shots people and it was hilarious watching them run around trying to avoid my demonic troll. I killed the three other players with no problem. A glorious karmic reversal.

Two things that gave me trouble with this quest:

The Scepter of Domination that has been modified. It doesn't allow you to teleport yourself upstairs anymore. You have to talk to Drakuru to get teleported to where the fight occurs.
After the Drakuru is dead you have to put the Scourge Disguise back on in order to loot the skull. I had two guys watching me kill him and they were able to loot the skull, but I couldn't. In fact, it despawned before one of them told me to put the disguise back on so I had to do the fight again.

Personally I loved this questline, and I hated having to betray Drakuru, he was just lookin out for ya. But as far as this quest in particular goes, I had a pretty easy time with it. Just keep moving, and save the stun for when he casts a blight crystal, and you should be fine.

A hilarious time can be had using the troll to kill opposition players who happen to be on the platform also. Your trolls skills won't work but he still hits for 4-5k with his fists.

The kills count as HKs which is also fun :D

If you change Spell Detail in your video settings to highest the gas clouds left by the blight crystals will be visible. I kept wondering why I died so quickly and found it was just undoable with Spell Detail on low.

this quest sucks in the fact that so many things can go wrong

ive tried it about 8 times now and every single time...my troll comes close to dying and i tame another, but the one with low health then comes up and kills me

if that doesnt happen...big troll man will hit me with his spells as i tame another troll

I'd been trying to do this the last few days, then I happened to talk to him while someone else was killing him. I waited for the yelling to stop since I assumed that meant the folks up there either failed or completed it, so I started mine.. I got ported up, Lich King and Drakaru were in a dialogue, so I was still waiting for my turn... after I charmed the blightblood troll, I turned around and there was the skull on the ground.

Should've been much harder.

I've summoned water elemental to help me during the fight.. lost control over the fight, troll attacked me and killed.
I must say, I can imagine those quests being fun and enjoyable, but at the moment they are not, entire chain is one huge pain in the back because of blightguards, disappearing disguise, spells breaking disguise, elemental braking control over trolls, not to mention terribly bugged and annoying "blow abomination" quest.

If your troll is dying, and you make the mistake of getting another one before the first one dies, i suggest using your new troll to finish off the first one. However, this won't work if the first troll still had a lot of health left. If that is the case, drakuru or the first troll will inevitabley kill you. But to avoid any of these problems, make sure the first troll dies before you get another one!

I need help with that quest, i use my Scepter of Domination
before i get out from ghoul form, but when the troll die then i can't take a new one becuse i need to be ghoul to use the next one.

I'm lvl 80 now and can't complite that quest lol :P

one: i dident have the problem of needing to disguise myself before puting it on,
and i dont think anyone mentioned this: there is no problem with the switch between trolls if u see your troll is going down, and then you hold off on your stun until right before you use the scepter on another troll, then you stop the main income of damage and can use your new troll to pown your old troll.
i still recomend working in a group its really tricky soloing

For any class that doesn't have MC, pick up help, this isn't a quest that can be done w/o Control help.. Tried 6 times, finally got help on the 6th.. 77 Unholy DK & 80 Elemen shammy.. Took 2 trolls but it worked, just don't try it solo if you are melee & below 77.

One thing to take note of is that you don't actually get the final blow in on Drakuru, once he goes below 1% HP, the Lich King comes in and swipes his head off, ripe for the taking.

I teleported in to a battle already underway (2 alliance, 1 horde, 3 blightblood trolls) and was in disguise all the way (it didn't break for me). Having contributed 0 DPS for the quest I was still able to loot the skull.

Long story short: feel free to charm your own pet and help each other out even if you're not partied.

Note: I had a surprise when Drakuru respawned almost immediately after we had killed it. It knocked me out of disguise and the encounter restarted all over (aura + crystals..), so make sure you loot fast and mount up and away.

It's worth noting that it is EXTREMELY easy to grief or be griefed on this quest on a PVP server. Someone else on the quest simply needs to send their troll after your player and you will be 2 shotted.

As such, I'm personally of the belief that alone makes this a poorly designed/thought-out quest.

Just to add a helpful bit - don't freak out and try to re-don your disguise after it fails. What happens when you do is that you cannot target Drakuru with your troll...

But when you re-drop it, you'll be able to target him again.

This may have just happened to me, but when I grouped only my teammate's disguise dropped while mines remained intact, so though I got the message to use the scepter on a troll I couldn't use it to attack Drakura because he was still friendly to me thanks to the disguise.

As my teammate was about to die my disguise fell but I got the message that I should hide. When it fell I got jumped by the geists and then wiped out by Drakura when my teammate died.

I told my teammate what happened and they suggested that I might have to click and remove the disguise itself if I didn't get the message. But move away from the geists so they wouldn't attack me before I removed it.

We did it again and once again my teammates disguise fell but not mine so I had to remove it myself. When I did, I could send my troll after Drakura and we completed the quest.

So if you're in a group, you get a troll, but your disguise doesn't fall, you're gonna have to remove the disguise yourself.

Almost forgot: When you do loot Drakura's skull and get down, don't immediately turn the quest in. Keep the choker so you can use the disguise to help with Leave No One Behind.

I just created a wowhead account to say this:

This is by far the most annoying, frustrating quest I have ever experienced in all of WoW. I talk to Drakuru to teleport to the roof, even before I use my scepter on the Blightblood Trolls, my disguise fails and I start taking the aura damage immediately, somehow I aggro one of the geists and try and kill him before I have taken too much damage, as soon as I do that, another one spawns right after he does and attacks me, then good ol' Drakuru comes over and destroys me. I pass it off as bad luck and talk to Drakuru again, but I never get a warning to use my scepter, so I do it anyway, and of course, Drakuru is still friendly, not doing a thing. I die from the aura damage. I abandon the quest to "reset" Drakuru, and it deletes my Encorcelled Choker, and Vadu in Ebon Hold isn't giving me one when I ask him to. So !@$%ing ridiculous.

It took three tries for me to complete this quest. The first time, it bugged out when Drakuru hit 1% and the Lich King never spawned. Second time, I died. Third time everything went as planned, luckily. The fight reminded me a bit of a boss fight from a Legend of Zelda game... just keep running in circles to avoid the crystals, heal when you need it, spam the troll's attacks, and when you're done you get the chance to flip off one of the most powerful beings in Azeroth, if you feel like it.

If you are a balance druid, do not use starfall on this fight. (That talent gets me in trouble all the time. I'm constantly underestimating the range on that and typhoon). Worry more about healing yourself and keeping all your troll's abilities on cooldown, than casting spells on him and you'll be fine.

Also, this has been covered, but make sure your current troll pet is dead before you charm another.

edit: Oh btw, make sure you don't need your scourge disguise before turning this in. You can't get a new one. I had the ghoul feeding quest and realized I had no way to turn it in after I had wasted time finishing it.

This is a very interesting line, but the end encounter contains counter-intuitive bits and is probably too difficult for a quest that is intended to be soloable.

This is extremely difficult and I died about five times. A summary of what I learned from reading here and from doing the quest:

1) Don't freak when you get the "disguise is failing" message. Blizzard tells you to hide, but if you haven't read the quest info here and try to do that, you'll run into the geists and get ripped. You should run in, MC one of the trolls, run over to the boss, and wait for your disguise to fail.

2) If you play with low spell detail, you'll have a hard time avoiding gas clouds, which are frequent, do splash damage, and a lot more damage if you stand in them.

3) If you don't wait for your troll to die before you MC the next one, you end up having to deal with it, and it hurts. So try to top yourself off and be near the next troll so you can MC it quickly.

4) After you beat the boss down, combat ends, the Lich King appears and kills the boss, and a clickable skull drops on the ground. If you loot that you get the quest completion item, and an item you can click on in order to get back to the quest turn-in without having to jump off the necropolis.

I've tried this quest 5 times now and can't seem to do it. I'm a Hunter with 12.6k HP and after the first troll dies, Drakuru KILLS YOU WITH 3 SHADOWBOLTS. It takes about 2 sec. cast to control the next troll, and then he still has to run (slowly) to Drakuru to fight him. In this... 6-8 second time span, Drakuru can spam you with shadowbolts (they were hitting me for about 5-6k) and you die.

I gave up on this quest, simply because you're fighting a raid level boss (550k) alone and you can't even LFG because people need to have the quest to activate the event to even possibly come with you at all.

Aside from the achievement, you get crap loot, so it's not even worth it.

A good way (that I found out - somewhat an exploit) to farm money and experience while your up there.
(Possibly only for hunters).
Few easy steps.
1# Control Blightblood Troll Guy.
2# Feign Death
This will now stop the event but you will lose your costume and you will keep the Blightblood Troll under your control.
There are a bunch of Geists up there that insta respawn and you can get easily 1700 exp (per kill with 1 hit) and 12-27s + other drops.
If you about to die you can easily heal yourself with his ability.

::NOTE::
You will lose control of your Blightblood Troll after (about) 3-5 minutes but you can still re-control him just as long as you are not in ghoul form.

::DOWNSIDE::
If someone else starts the event your Blightblood Troll disappears and you will have to just re-control another one.

--I made about 25g within 5 minutes (not counting the stuff like Fur Clothing Scraps that make you alot of money which I got 17 of)--

::EDIT::
Don't let your troll hit Drakuru and don't feign death until he is mid way casting of his shadowbolt (which he should cast at you right as the battle starts).

::2ND EDIT::
You cannot use the trolls first 2 abilities on the geist but he still does a decent amount of damage.

i soloed this easily on my warrior, to make sure i loose as little hp as possible because he throw's crystalls at me, i run in circle around the platform and i had a hp pot with me so when my minion died and Drakuru started to do shadowbolt at me i just charmed another mob(can't remember the name) and then continued running around until he was dead.

That's the way i soloed it.. but also remember to use the ability's to your minion as much as possible

If you use scepter too soon, or getting anoter way to situation then Drakuru don't want to attak you, DON'T PANIC! Just drop your disguise manualy and start fighting with Drakuru.
But if someone killed Drakuru before you, there is no way to restart th event, other than jump down, and go to teleport, and speak to Drakuru, and hope...

Fool Proof method: Well I applied the tactics, they work well, but easy to mess up, especially as a clothy, so on my 3rd attempt was disapointed to find a human paladin going at it. The 1st thing I did was summon my flying mount and watch, she did very well, got Drakuru to 10% health while I watched safe in the air, she then screwed up and as she went down, I landed, grabbed a troll and finished of the job so easily I almost felt bad, almost, she was still an ally. Thought I would mention, as it is another tactic, which may come into play.

Not a tricky quest to solo actually quite easy and wait for your first troll to die or you will be toast. Additionally quick note for warlocks do not have your soulstone on during this quest. Drakuru will disappear when you die and you will be left on top of the tower with no way down except jumping and dying. As well for anyone having trouble leaving this quest you get an item called Drakuru's last wish or something when you loot Drakuru use this and you will teleport down away from any mobs that will aggro you now blow the horn you got from the death knight to summon him and turn in your quest.

Warlocks may have an easier time with this quest. You can Health Funnel your troll. Keep DoTs up, avoid the blight crystals and health funnel the troll. You usually don't have enough time to cast the full length of Drain Life (you have to keep running), but even 2 seconds of Drain Life can save you!

Running around in circles worked for me, just make sure your Troll is dead before you grab a new one. Throw yourself a heal right before it dies. The quest will take two trolls.

Note: Drakuru respawns really quickly, almost right after he's killed, so don't be an idiot like myself, get involved in watching the story and then try and loot the skull. Drakuru will target you immediately after he respawns and will start hucking shadow bolts at you making it impossible to loot the skull unless you get another Troll to take agro off of you.

Lesson learned loot the skull and start hearthing (if you're not 77) right as it drops.

Some tips:

1. Make sure that when taking control over another troll that the one you were using is DEAD. If you take control over another troll while the other one is still alive, you will lose control and it will start attacking you. I learned this the hard way.

2. Just strafe around the fight in circles while spamming the attacks, and the heal when needed.

Be prepared when you see your troll low on health. One troll is not enough to finish the job. Get in position to MC another summoned troll and as soon as your first one drops grab a second. Rinse and repeat.

Also, if you should die and run back from the gy, bear in mind that your disguise does not work on the banshees so avoid them. They're just a nuisance.

I recommend holding still unless you're either moving to another troll or dodging a Blight Crystal. I tried running in circles around the platform, but that leaves you with 2 problems: A) You end up running into the spot where a previous Blight Crystal landed (not good); B) You might fall onto the outer ring, which is crawling with Blight Geists.
Your troll should be able to pick up aggro by Drakuru's 2nd or 3rd Shadowbolt (depending on how quick you were with the staff); after it has aggro, use its special attack whenever the cooldown is up; save the heal for when you've actually taken damage, and the stun for interrupting his spells.
You most likely won't be able to down him before the first troll dies; make sure you're in position to grab a second as soon as the first dies.

First of all, to start the quest you have to walk back in to voltarus and talk to drakuru, he'll send you up to meet his blight things and you're costume will wear off. At this point you should start using the scepter on the blight things and make them attack drakuru. Drakuru will throw the blight crystals at you and occasionaly cast a shadow bolt on you, the blight crystals also leave a gas that drains your health pretty fast, my advice for that is to run a safe distance from where the crystal is going to land or just run in circles around the place. After your first blight thing dies just get another one, personally i died 3 times but that was just from stupid mistakes. I liked the storyline and felt bad killing Drakuru =( i love the plot twist though. :D

Struggled w/ this one as well.

The crystals and shadow bolts (?) do indeed hurt. Maybe a shadow protection potion?

Getting another troll is a delicate balance, and dying at the graveyard and running back was a pain.

Finally "finished" it when I teleported to the top just as someone managed to do it and looted the skull and jumped down.

Didn't like this line largely cause it doesn't have you do anything. I mean....I'm a hunter...I use a pet and attack things from range....Yet that was not what this questline wanted me to do....control this scourge and fight this, gather this, etc. Not exactly playing to my strengths.

Maybe easier the 2nd time around?

If the quest gets messed up and you are stuck waiting for the despawn because you can't tame a troll then you can jump and not take any damage as long as you still have the suit on.

I was able to do this (as a Night Elf) by helping a Troll Shaman complete it.

Separately, we had failed three times in a row (I died, he died while I watched, then I died again while he watched - just couldn't stay alive while MCing the second troll). After rezzing, I flew to the top of Voltarus and put on my disguise and waited. Sure enough, the Shaman appeared and the event started a minute or two later.

At the appropriate time, even though I hadn't triggered the event, I got the message that my disguise was failing. I MC'd a troll and attacked, after my "colleague" had already established aggro with his. With both of our MC'd trolls attacking we took him down no problem, mon. And I was also able to loot the skull, even though I hadn't triggered the event.

Thus if you've already taken this quest, and are present at the beginning, you'll be able to participate in the battle and the rewards, even if you didn't trigger the event, and even if you're not in a group (or even the same faction as the person doing the event). Obviously you have to be up top and disguised already when it starts, and do so knowing someone else is about to trigger it. Having a flying mount and knowing fairly certainly that the Troll would be trying it again helped in this case.

I havent seen anyone say this, but you dont have to have a slowfall mechanic or a bubble/iceblock to get down. Along with looting Drakuru's Skull you will also have looted Drakuru's Last Wish. The wish will teleport you away from the top of Voltaris, I unfortunately found this out only after hearthing. anyways hope this helps

An interesting aside, if you get stuck and jump off the north side and die on the snowy hill, you'll be in a subregion of the Storm Peaks called snowblind hills, and when you release spirit your ghost will be on a flying ghost mount. Thought it was kinda cool :]

I spoke to drakaru, ported to the top, and used the rod on an elite scourge. An alliance player started it before I did, my disguise wore off and was killed.

I went back up and found that I was able to loot the corpse from the other group's kill.

Not sure about hunters and warlocks, but when I was up there I saw a Hunter without a pet doing it so I'm assuming your only pet can be the bigass troll.

Make sure to tag it with your own attacks and spells, if anyone else is up there, horde or alliance. He'll drop an item with a Gear shape icon moue-over and when you pick it up, you'll get two items. Anyone up there can take it.

I agree there are a lot of annoyances in the Zul'drak chain, but this part is about the easiest.
78 BM hunter, able to get him down to 15% before the first troll died, he seems to constantly cast crystals so I was just running around the platform while the troll continued to smack him around.

Tip: Don't get %^&*y at 75k hp or so, I did and with 14k HP I was killed in only a few shadow bolts, you need those trolls..

I died 2 times doing this, and nobody wanted to group. But a lot of alliance (I am horde) were going up to the main and disappearing. So I waited for the main to yell "WHAT TREACHERY IS THIS?" and then I ran up and talked to him and was telelported there as well.

So I saw the opposite faction fighting. I am a priest, but could not heal anyone. So I used my scepter and tamed the troll.

I tried to have him attack, but to no avail.

The the human's troll died, and while he was getting another, mine was able to attack! And in the meantime, the human got another troll and so 2 were attacking.

The human died, but mine kept attacking, and then it disappeared with the main at very little health.

The liche king appeared, killed the main, the skull was there, I looted it and then flew off the platform with my mount.

So you can do it while someone else can, and if you have your troll ready, if the other guy fails you can take over from there (but before the other guy dies!)

Another thing to be careful of, that caused me to fail this a couple of times before I smacked my forehead for being so stupid: after you MC the troll, be sure you TARGET DRAKURU. The first time I tried this quest I had no idea what to do.. And died, lol. :(

Second time I tried it, there was a bug and he remained allied for about five minutes, and then I jumped off the thing (Killing myself) to try it again by resetting it. Third time I attempted it, he remained allied to me for around two minutes and when I was sitting there thinking what I could be doing wrong, he became hostile and killed me. Also, the blood geists somehow aggroed from the lower ring and canceled my MC on the trolls when I tried to get it.. I'm having a lot of problems with this quest (Error-related). Just a suggestion, but if you are 77 go ahead and get your winter wings before doing this quest. As a 77 Lock with 9400hp I died several times before getting the timing right for killing Drakuru. It was much faster and easier being able to fly back to the area, land out of harm's way and then put on the disguise.

Do the following:

1. Speak with Drakuru to get ported to the top of the complex.

2. Immediatly run to where one of the Blight Blood Trolls should be standing.

3. Use the Scepter to MC the troll as soon as it spawns.

4. Run back to Drakuru(Your disguise hasn't worn off and he hasn't gone hostile.) and target him.

5. Right click the disguise buff and immediatly make the Blight Blood attack him. (Make sure you stun him as right away 'cause it'll keep you from being hit by more than one shadowbolt)

6. Just run around avoiding the orange areas left by the Blight Crystals, while using the trolls abilities as soon as their ready. (Heal only when you're actually hurt of course.)

Also, be carefull not to even begin using the scepter until your first Blight Blood is dead, because if he's alive he'll go hostile as soon as you start using it.

I don't know how many other's there are like me, but I have little to no experience with a pet bar (77 Rogue) and have very little clue what 'actions' on the pet bar to use. Where do you figure out which buttons do what. After the event starts is no time to try and go to school on what the buttons/spells are.

I keybound buttons 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 and hoped for the best, but 'hope' isn't getting it. I don't abandon many quests but this may be added to the short list.

This quest seems hard, but once you've completed it, and look back it's actually quite simple

1. don't panic
2. enslave a pet and remove your disguise
3. let the pet attack him, and use his abilities
4. DON'T JUST RUN CIRCLES, BUT STAND STILL AND DODGE THE AOE DMG HE THROWS AT YOU
5. use your pet's heal buff when you're getting hit
6. when your pet dies, don't panic and just enslave an other (you don't need your disguise for that)
7. immediatly use heal spell and continue from point 3

I only needed a second pet to kill him off, the second had about 30% HP left when i was finished

I'm saying 'don't just run in circles' because otherwise your path of cicles will make the area semi aoe and not, so if you continue to run in cicles you'll be dmged a lot more then just standing still and every time when he throws something at you (it's a casting spell) just dodge it and stand still beside the last targetted area. eventually the aoe spots will vanish, so never will the whole area be full of aoe spots.

Ps. it took me 2 times dying to understand how to play it, 3rd time was the charm :)

I found this quite difficult to do alone at 79. I could do it easily up until the part where my troll died or was about to die. If you try to grab the new troll before the old one dies, you die right away. I died twice figuring that out. Then the other two times before my new troll could engage him he pounded me into the floor. So... obviously I had no clue what I was doing on the troll switch. One troll simply doesn't seem to have enough longevity to beat him.

I got someone else in the zone who was doing the quest to go up there with me, and we killed him super easily. I wish I would have done that from the start.

If you use the scepter "too early" or port up while the event is in progress you'll have to click off your own disguise, then you can attack Drakuru just fine without waiting for the first person to finish.

Running around in circles works just fine, you can get fairly close to him and the edge while running to avoid the AOE areas from the crystals.

I died several times before realizing that I needed to let the pet scourge troll do most of the work. Overlord Drakuru will begin the battle by casting several Shadow Bolts at you. As a 78 warlock I maintained Curse of Recklessness (to lower Drak's armor) and Corruption (shadow DoT) on Drak and kept spamming the pet's (scourge troll) abilities. The pet also has an ability that allows the player to drain some of it's life to heal yourself. You cannot heal the scourge troll so don't bother trying. Keep running around the platform to avoid the blight crystals that Drak will be throwing at you. The crystals will form a toxic (nature damage) puddle on the ground for about 30 seconds so watch where you step.

As soon as the first scourge troll dies (and it will) immediately use the Scepter of Domination again to charm another troll. This is the time where you will be the most vulnerable because Drak will start to chain-cast Shadow Bolts at you until the new troll pet can gain aggro. Bring shadow resistance and healing potions to this fight. Once the second troll pet gains aggro the rest of the fight should not take long at all.

Keep running circle while your troll is fighting Drakuru.

Make the troll use two of its special attacks, and the healing ability when your health is low (it heals you, not the troll itself).

Get another troll if it dies. When reaching for another troll, get a healing/protection spell (e.g. Divine Shield and Lay on Hands for paladins) or a healing potion ready to take some high damage from Drakuru.

I've used the scepter and engaged but the giant noob doesn't attack! totally $#&*@ing bugged out! Then he only targets me and BAM. No mods on either. I've done it before on another toon.. not working now. I hate this quest blizz FIX IT!

Don't do what I did and try to MC another troll while your first troll is still fighting. The troll becomes hostile and was hitting me in cloth for around 5k.

Don't know if it's here but figured I'd put this out there for all the pallies.

When your troll gets down to about 5% health, go ahead and head to the next troll you're going to MC. When your original troll dies, pop Divine Shield and start MCing next troll.

When I did this on my pally only needed 2 trolls to finish him off. Most important thing is to keep using the abilities (except heal) as soon as they are off cooldown.

The troll won't use his skills unless YOU are targeting a hostile mob, which makes it a pain for healing.

It uses the pet bar, so I had to remap all my keybindings and put pet ones back on. I already had to rebind healing to click casting my HP bar and pet bar. You should not have to change your UI around just to complete one quest.

After I killed him (after dying the first time from UI problems), the abomination didn't despawn. He instead 1 hit me. I had to go a 3rd time and SM when the abom agrod onto me so I could survive to loot the skull.

This quest has so many problems in it, just a warning to anyone else having trouble.

Only soloable if u can heal yourself. And you need a decent amount of mana for that.
Don't stand still cause he keeps throwing shards at you that hits for quite a lot of dmg as well as AoE dmg.

Not a fun quest. At the 4th attempt a Blood Elf was doing the same quest. So I just joined the battle, defeated the bloke, got my money and go on with our lives.

As difficult as this quest can be to solo (specially for us squishy types) its a good idea to have some help. Now, if you were dumb like me and soloed the entire quest line up to this point, just to be completely stumped at the end, you have a problem. Its slow and boring to lurk around Voltarus waiting for some random stranger to get to the same part of the quest chain and then beg them to team with you, likewise slow and boring to wait for a friend who hasnt started the quest chain to work their way through it.
Easy solution - get a healy type friend (in my case a shaman) to fly up to the roof and provide healy/shieldy/bubbly goodness. You survive long enough to get the second blightblood troll up and running, and you get the pleasure of seeing the Lich King spank Drakuru mightily - not to mention pleasure of knowing you dont have to frak with it anymore.

When you do, go here, kill xx of this and xx of that, or find this or find that quests it can get boring but this one. woohoo, what a great story line and at the end when you actually get to try and kill Drakuru, wooooo.

Mind you a first I couldnt get the grasp, mainly because the blightbloods wont do anything until you've changed back into your character and then you've got to really charm the blightblood before you change back otherwise he starts hacking you and Drakuru starts shadowbolting you and your dead in moments.

Charm your blightblood, then change back into your character... then set the blightblood onto Drakuru. Ive tried this about 5 times and failed.... each time Ive gotten nearer but im not bored of it. Gonna keep trying....

I had some serious trouble during this quest.

All the time when this guy were throwing the crystal at me, i had to run away as well as everyone else, but the platform got so filled up of those fields, so that i kept being damaged.
And the healing thing, the troll does, was too long cd, so i kept dying.

IMPORTANT when you mind control the troll, tell him to fight (obviously)... then start running around the outside of the platform because you will avoid the Crystal Explosion. Use all of the trolls attack when they cooldown. When your troll dies (make sure he is 0/0 hp because he will attack if you dismiss him early) capture another troll... and repeat the process.
My first troll got him to about 50%, so it only took 2 for me.

It's not that simple, it's a pain in the ass. I tried to solo it with my hunter and no good came out of it. I did everything that I could or that was supposed to happen. But the guy always kills me before I can do anything, because the disguise always fails. (in which it's supposed to fail) But still it can really get you confused and frustrated.

If you are a hunter this is pretty easy.

Strafe around him and keep your stings up on him. Don't go too quick. Only strafe enough to get out of the crystal AOE after he throws the crystal. Wait until he kills your first pet. Then keep facing him and use Deterrence while you click on a new pet behind you and use the staff to MC your new pet. You don't have to be facing your new pet to MC him. Strafe again and DPS him down.

Remember not to FD or he will reset.

The blight AoE attacks are nature damage.
The shadowbolts are obviously shadow damage.

If your class has abilities that can counter those magic schools I would use them.

Also, just use instant attacks and strafe around him, you probably wouldn't make a significant amount of damage anyway, just watch what your blightblood does and try to keep his abilities in use all the time.

Bored friends can help you with this quest. Bring a healer, a hunter, a lock, anything strong from a distance.

The platform the fight takes place on is in the regular game world, outside of the instance, friends can fly there.

My brother's 80 pally came with me.

* A friend straight tanking him isn't an option.

* * As soon as your pet dies, his hate goes to you.

For warlocks an adwise, use Shadow ward! It helps a lot at the time when you loose your pet and go for the next one.

what I had: lvl 80 Tauren enhance shaman on Tanaris
what I had to do: Keep moving. Even if the blight crystals miss you, the pool of bubbling orange goo they create still hits for 1200+. A direct hit will cost you 4500+. Spam macro listed below. This keeps your MC'd troll busy.
what I had to take:
health pots
mana pots
haste pots
+40 stam food
baby spice
what I had to prep: macro as follows:
/target overlord drakuru
/cast powerful strike
/cast concussive blow
observations:
Grounding totem ineffective. Shadow bolts pass totem to get to you.
Baby spice shrunk Drakuru, but didn't lessen his HP.
You must have full health before attempting to MC a successive Blight Blood troll. Drak's shadow bolts hit for 4500+. You'll take 3 hits prior to completion of casting MC. You must wait until your current MC'd troll is dead prior to MC'ing another one.
There's no 15 seconds before first blight crystal in thrown. The instant Drakuru's name turns red, a crystal is in the air.
It takes 3 successive bloodblight trolls to take Drak down. The videos showed one. Either the trolls were seriously nerfed, or Drak got serious upgrades. The videos showed very few shadow bolts and fewer crystals. Not the case when I got into it.
How I (finally) did it:
I cast Earth elemental, spirit wolves, bloodlust, wrath of air totem, healing stream, and fire nova totems immediately. I equipped totem of the plains relic prior to fight, and cast earth living weapon on both weapons to boost my healing. I kept moving, dodging crystals every .5 to 2.5 seconds, and healing after every shadow bolt hit every .7 to 1.2 seconds. As soon as Earth elemental fell, I cast stoneskin totem and another fire nova. When elemental totem cool down cleared, I cast Fire elemental. I re-cast spirit wolves when cool down expired, three times in all. The afore mentioned macro was being spammed the entire time to maximize the damage the MC'd trolls could do.
side note: Originally attempted in party with lvl 80 BE Hunter with Beast Mastery, and Devilsaur pet. If I attacked, the hunter could not as Drakuru was an ivalid target. The same was true if the hunter attacked first. This forced the event to be a solo gig. It took about an hour of attempts, and over 45G in repairs. The Hunter was able to loot after I succeeded on the event. This fight took more than 2 minutes.

If you happen to be an unholy DK with Ghoul Frenzy, don't forget to use it. You won't need to MC another troll. Also, you can buff the trolls to make the ordeal go faster. Once Drakuru is dead, your troll will simply despawn.

This quest bugged for me last night. When I teleported to the platform, I got the warning which said my disguise was failing. So far so good..

However, when I saw that, I instinctively ran away under the platform and pressed the necklace to put on my disguise again. By that time, Drakuru had said his piece and was getting ready to attack. When I put my disguise on, he became friendly again and stayed that way. Even MC ing nearby trolls or waiting for minutes did not change that. So I could not attack him in anyway and got stuck at the platform.

I abandoned the quest to pick it up again. But this destroyed all the quest items in my bags, the staff, the necklace, and the horn to call the quest giver Death Knight.

I had to fly to the Ebon Watch in Zul'drak to pick up the quest from the DK again. I was able to get the necklace and the staff, but he does not give the horn to call him again. So once you complete the quest you have to fly back to turn it in unless some other player called DK to Relinquary of Pain already.

Heres a nice little trick when your troll is about to die. When your troll is at about 5% health use the blightblood infusion. When it dies Drakuru pounds you with shadow bolts which hit for about 1.5k. So with the blightblood infusion healing you, you can safetly go MC your second troll.

Cute quest Affliction Lock

Put on your disguise and go talk to Drakuru
He will beam you up top and you get a warning your disguise will fail
Run over to one of the spawned trolls and use your scepter to take control
Attack Drakuru

If your a pet class, hunter, lock or unholy DK you can heal your pet, much like the earlier quest to kill Darmuk, but healing didn't seem as effective. You can use your pet tool bar to heal as well, which seemed to work better. If your not a pet class it is no biggie, when your guy dies, and let him die before getting a new one, just pick up another one and attack. Drakuru will toss shadow bolts at you when your pet dies so be quick.

The real fun of this is the AoE crystals he tosses out at you. If you just stand there you will die. Run out of the area and attack. As an Affliction lock I just ran around away from crystals, hit the dps pet bar attacks, healed pet via bar and health funnel and healed myself with haunt/corruption and drain life. And DoT the hell out of him with whatever you can get off.

Not that hard. If you cant heal yourself easily then I suspect that pet management, aoe crystal avoidance, and avoiding excessive shadow bolts when getting a new pet is key. That is why god invented pots and bandages is guess. ;)

I had a hard time with this quest until I realized two other important points:

Use the troll and ONLY the troll to deal damage. It seemed that any time I tried to help out my big buddy, I would pull aggro away from him and then I was tanking Drakuru. The good news is that I didn't have to tank him for long before I was dead.

Bring health AND resistance potions for the time between trolls. I went through a lot of health potions before I realized that dropping some coin on a Flask of Lesser Resistance made the in-between time survivable.

Hope these help you to have an easier time than I did.

When they say keep moving they mean it! You must keep running to avoid the Blight Crystals he throws. Stop running and he hits you. I only stopped running to get a second troll to finish the fight. It took me several tries to complete this quest. Only when I kept moving did I complete it successfully. I used the mouse in my right hand to keep moving around the area and used my left hand on the keyboard to spam the pets abilities. Also you must keep your health above 2/3. Keep using your trolls heal abilities to keep your health at close to 100%. Good luck! Just don't give up!

Just keep Ghoul Frenzy active on your minion (the troll, not your ghoul) and let him kill Drakuru alone.

One minion will be enough for the entire fight, so there's no need to change it.

Took me two tries to get this bugger right. Anyway, my advice is remove your armor so you dont have to deal with a repair bill(in case you die). Doing this right wont kill you however. Save the stun+heal for when you need to switch to another troll. When pet drops below 5-10% hp, stun and heal, then charm a new troll. Once this is done just send the new troll in and heal once more, keep running around and you'll be fine.

So I jumped off to try and put it back on.. How was I to know you were meant to have it off?

I had to jump off and put it back on, then find that there was no way to get back up so I had to jump all the way to the floor and die.

Then I couldn't ressurect because I landed on top of a #$%^ing wall.. So I had to use unstuck and res in a completely different area zone.

This whole line of quests is the mostly poorly made piece of horse #$%^ I've ever done in WoW. Well done Blizzard you horse@#$%ers!

As an Unholy Death Knight this is easily solo-able. I had to lose like 4 times before I realized. Just use Ghoul Frenzy every 10-20 seconds and your converted pet should never die. It keeps him alive and makes him attack faster. While spamming his attacks, run around the arena to dodge Drakuru's attacks. If you stand still too long you will die. This is really simple, it just takes a while.

1. Don't need to move far to avoid the blight cloud.
2. Use the pet's heal - far better than anything I had.
3. TIMING the second tame is the only challenge.
4. Being an 80 DK on frost didn't make this any easier. I died 3 times.
5. Stun did stop him throwing crystals. But I used it every chance I got. I would rather have 6 seconds of pummeling & have to dodge crystals.
6. I too was so disappointed not to be able to keep fighting for the Lich King. But as an 80 Orc DK, I can still spread the word fo the Raidernation anyway.

A very cool quest, but until you understand it you'll get your ass whooped. In truth, you don't even need to buff yourself if you do it correctly.

First follow the instructions to get to the roof of Voltarus, don't just fly up there. Disguise yourself, talk to Drakuru and he will lead you up there. But beware, he'll see though your costume almost immediately, so get ready.

Go to the edge of the top platform and wait by one of the downramps until a Brightblood Troll shows up and take control of him as quickly as possible with the Scepter of Domination.

Now target Drakuru and start running clockwise around the edge of the platform because he'll start throwing some mean crystals and you don't want to get hit by those suckers. As you're running, use the Troll's contols, alternating between the hammer icon and the one to its left. On the cooldown throw in your own attacks, but don't stop moving.

IMPORTANT: When your life starts getting low hit the icon that looks like blood bubbles. That will renew your life. If he kills your troll you'll have to "quickly" take control of another one.

Stangely enough it's neither you or the troll that kills him. But I'll let you find out that part on your own. Very cool stuff.

MAIN POINTS: ALWAYS KEEP MOVING, ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING WITH TROLL, ALWAYS KEEP HEALING YOURSELF AND USE YOUR OWN ATTACKS WHENEVER POSSIBLE.

The quest is bugged as of 3.2.2. You can not get the teleport item, but you can complete the quest however. Just strip your gear off and jump, you will be resurrected without a sickness on the ground.

I have just done this as a Level 77 Subtlety Rogue. It should be soloable by any class once you get the hang of it.

Once you get teleported up there, you have to wait a few secs for the trolls on the side to appear. Grab one by activating your Scepter. Once you have the troll under your command, you should right click on your Disguise debuff so you can send your troll to attack Drakuru. You yourself do not need to attack. Using the 2 trolls are sufficient.

I see lots of advice here telling you to spam the 3 buttons. IMHO, You should spam the Stun Button and the Spec. However, you should reserve the heal button until you actually need healing. Just keep the troll on Drakuru and renew your attacks. Heal when necessary.

Drakuru basically does 2 attacks. The Shadowbolts you basically have to eat, but you can quite easily dodge the Crystals. The moment you see a crystal in the air..just strafe left/right to avoid it. They stay in the air for quite a few sec so you should be able to move out of the way quite easily. You don't have to move all the time, just be ready to move the moment a crystal is launched. With the troll heals and your own bandage/potions, you should have no problems.

As your first troll is about to die, make sure you get a self heal if it is up. Then, as your first troll die, put up a shield/cloak of shadows/ shadow ward..etc.. while you grab a new troll. Send troll on Drakuru again. Repeat what you have done in the first round and it should be pretty easy.

These were really good tips, but after dying about 8 times (it was 5AM, I'm blaming lack of sleep on that one) trying to use them I had to tweak the strategy to what worked for me.

Prerequisite: Have a healing potion or bandage ready. If you're a healer, make sure you're full on mana or you have a potion ready.

1.) As soon as the blightbloods appear, run to one of them and focus. As soon as you get the raid warning telling you that the disguise is getting ready to wear off, begin casting your scepter to control the blightblood.

2.) By the time you're done casting, the blightblood should be under your control. Send him in to attack and immediately hit with stun. Then use the main attack, which you should be able to hit with a few times before your stun ability cools down and you're able to cast again.

3.) The whole time you're attacking, you should be running and trying to avoid the blight crystal bombs. You'll run the outer perimeter first, but you'll have to get creative as the blight bombs explode all over the platform.

4.) Watch the blightblood's health; when it gets down to about 30k, haul it the nearest arm of the platform. Drakuru should be less than 50% health. If you're low on health, quickly heal, use your potion, or bandage yourself before or after your trek to the final blightblood. If you don't heal in time, you're likely to die. Put your focus on him and get in a clear line of sight - as soon as your pet dies, start casting your scepter to control the next one. Send in to attack - if timed right, you'll only take a few shots before focus is controlled.

5.) Continue to run around, avoiding the remaining crystals, stunning as much as possible and spamming the main attack. It should be easymode from here.

Note that someone flying over you can trigger him to attack that person. If your fight hasn't started yet, he'll attack them, they'll get out of range, and then everything but your MC'd troll will despawn.

I went at this as a Lvl 75/76 Frost DK and only had a few diffculties w/ it. It took a few tries but I figured it out.

1.) As soon as the trolls spawn, use the scepeter on it even b4 the message pops.
2.) keep up whatever presence works for you and run around, constatly using ur trolls avalable spells (1 dmg spell, 1 dmg/stun spell and 1 healing spell for you.) and somje some spells that u can use from a distance w/out drawing too much aggro(Ex: Death Coil)on occasion. Drakkuru will keep constatly throwing crystals at u that even w/ bout 14000 or so health can kill u in seconds if u stand still, and this way you can cause dmg, ocassionally stun him and keep your self alive. 3.) At one point usally near when Drakkuru is near 1/2 health or so, ur troll will die. When it is down to 12000 or under health run up to another 1 and use the speter again. This is when he throws a barrage of shadowbolts at you for a few seconds and continues till you have your troll back(to take his attention off u)(and somewhat after), and if you have the Runic Power to use throw up Anti-Magic Shell, tame the troll. then reactivate ur trolls spells and run and attack from a distance. (If the crystal residue block of ur path to the remaning trolls, make sure you have corpse dust so u can summon a ghoul and use death pact when u need it as u make you way to the troll)
4.) repeat Step 2 and Finsh Him Off!

Good Luck! (And fair warning: it may take a few whacks at it to suceed. If your not Frost spec or w/out corpse dust carry some Health potions if u need it)

Struggled with three deaths then read the posts and found it fairly simple. As a mage, I put on ice barrier and ran in circles with the troll doing all of the work. Just before my first troll died, I attacked with troll's freeze and that gave me time to Mind control a second troll, which was all I needed.

I've just done it as holy paladin. Kings + beacon of light in the Troll an spam heal on yourself + troll abilities at every cold down, didn't need to change the troll.

the encounter has been modified in a recent patch. Some of the following changes take place for alliance Betrayal and horde version of the quest too:

If you release a controlled troll before it dies, it will now just go back to it's original spawning point and reset its health. It will no longer attack you. This simplifies the encounter somewhat, but you'll still have to take some shadowbolts while charming another troll.

Ony my DK, I accidenly pressed the summon ghoul button, but nothing happened (I had a troll attacking Drakuru). In the past, the troll would have broken free and aggroed. No zombie spawned, and that is a welcome change.

this quest was hard for me but on my thrid try i got it but heres what i did on my lock i mc'ed the first troll to fight first i threw up my shadow ward to block his shadow bolt att then i let the troll tank i was using every spell the troll had when it was up and when i wasnt dodging the blight crystals i threw sum spells at him to help my troll and right before i needed a new troll i threw down another shadow ward MC'ed the second troll then for the rest of the fight just proccing the MC'ed trolls abilities

im not sure if this is helpful but for unholy dks with ghoul frenzy u can heal the troll like its your ghoul while u run around just spam ghoul frenzy and it heals him for like 12k 60% of his hp i didnt even have to raise my axe to Drakuru i just let the pet kill him

Ok this is the quest is easily explained:
To start the event, talk to Overlord Drakuru.

You'll be ported up to the top of the necropolis.
In your COSTUME use the scepter to controll a troll, get the troll near the boss and remove your costume.
When your troll dies use the scepter on another troll *you do NOT have to be disguised*
He'll die on the second troll.
Loot the skull and watch the event.

this is the hardest quest ive ever done and it is glitchy as hell. dont listen to other people i tried that and their information was false.

the enemy keeps throwing an aoe crystal that lasts a very long time, does alot of damage, and covers the whole arena quickly.

the boss kills your troll fast and forces you to keep moving.

just keep your troll on him and keep attacking him from a ranged position.

someone commented that you could hide next to the un-mced trolls or that they wouldnt attack you. that is very wrong, they will kill you basically instantly.

make sure you arent on auto attack while you mc the trolls because thats an instant death.

i hate this quest ive died 4 times because of listening to people on here.

-the troll doesnt kill him fast enough and i cant stand around long enough to dps him
-the stun's cooldown is too long, between stuns he contantly throws acid at you
-you cant go near the outside because the elite trolls with 230k hp will aggro and kill you

I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, so just a quick tip if you're having trouble soloing this: When your first troll is almost dead, first hit the heal ability (ctrl+6 with default keybindings) then grab your second troll and hit his heal ability right away. That was the only way I (as a mail-wearing hunter) was able to survive the transition.

Great challenging quest. My main is raiding ICC and this is the first time an alt of mine has done this quest.

A major complaint is that you really can't watch the fight itself. You are just too busy running around avoiding the blight, doing your pet actions, healing yourself, and getting a new pet.

I'm a priest, and this quest would be impossible if I couldn't heal myself. I died about six times before I decided to do it in an "unfun" way and just run around in a circle healing myself and sending pet commands.

So after several failed attempts as a 77 BM hunter, I tried to use deterrence right before MCing the second troll and feign death immediately after. The troll attacking me disappeared, and the newly tamed one was attacking Drakuru, but Drakuru stood there for a second and then disappeared as well, leaving me with a tamed troll and no way to get down other than falling. This happened to me two attempts in a row.

So, yeah, be warned that the use of feign death apparently can mess up this quest.

I HATE this quest, it's UNFAIR to chars who dont have heals like Paladins. I have a DK and must have bandages with me, and time to use them... The hardest part is when your pet is low on health and he starts spamming shadowbolts...I have died 5 times in a row...

Don't feign death in this fight. After I lost my first troll, I went to get my second. I accidentally right clicked the troll right before I used the staff. I thought the troll was going to keep attacking me, so I feigned death right as the staff finished. The staff worked, but when I got back up, Drakuru just disappeared.

Damn.... I did that quest on 7 characters now, never had any problem. On my 8th go I died 5 times. Did they change something?
I don't remember being hit that hard in the downtime between having/taming a troll and being his target, and I'm pretty sure that in the past, when I started taming a troll when I still had one my old one just despawned, and didn't attack me. Or am I just imagining things?

For healers, you can heal your Troll. With this technique i managed to do the fight with only 1 Troll.
Shammy should use there elementals and any other pet using class can use them.
Buff your Troll also to make it even easier.

Obviously, i have to MC another troll exactly when the other dies, not some seconds before, because the first troll that I MC'ed, attacked me and killed me after i MC'ed the second troll.

Did it happen' to you guys too or am I doing something really wrong?

It would be good to ask in /1 chat if anyone needs or is about to do this quest. not so much that it makes it easier, rather if they come during your fight, things get a lil confusing. however if it does happen, try to inv person to your party ASAP.if they accept you can continue. on the other hand, if you get there in the middle of someone else's fight PLEASE just go ahead and invite them ASAP bc they are a bit tied up.

i just finally did this :) Im a Blood Elf and was there at the same time as a Draenei who was on the quest and we both had our minions on Drakuru and it worked fine as he focused on them.. Lich King shows up and kills his sorry a** lol

Got killed a few times doing this quest until the most brutally obvious thing occurred to me.

I'm a Pally, so I activated my shadow resistance aura and whadda ya know...

He doesn't hit hard with the shadow magic but it helped so just an FYI...

This is the final fight in the string from Stefan at Ebon Watch.

Costume up and go in and see Drakaru as you have been doing.
Speak to him, he'll port you up to the floating platform in the sky.
He'll say a few things, your scepter will glow.

Click one of the trolls on the perimiter and make him your pet.

Your costume will drop. This puts you in action with Drak. Don't try to re-costume; you can't.

Sic the pet on him and fight using pets abilities as best you can.

Avoid the Crystals Drak is going to throw because they land, and burst into a pool of poisoning stuff.

Kind of run around the edge of the platform where Drak stands (lower edge has lots of those lazy minions).

When pet gets low on life get ready to get a second pet...you'll most likely need to use 2.

Kind of a tuff a fight and you may have to do it a couple of times to get the hang of it.

If you kill Drak, Arthus himself comes out to reprimand and kill Drak. He will congratulate you.

Loot Draks Skull.

Tip: When I was there, an alliance group was killing Drak, so I didn't get the standard intro speech.
I ran around avoiding the poison pools and somehow got tagged as part of the fight but didn't have to
do anything! When the Lich King kill Drak, his skull dropped and I was able to loot the skull to finish
the quest..without even having to do lift a finger!

This is not a easy quest. Make sure that your graphics are turned up so you can see the graphical elements like the poison clouds on the ground.

After being ported up with Drakuru, your disguise will fail. What I did to beat this, and it took me about 5 tries as a mage, is that I turned around and quickly casted the scepter of domination on the closest blightblood troll. My disguise is still UP at this time, but it fails 2 seconds after taking command of a blightblood troll. Then with your blight blood troll, stick him on Drakuru. He will begin casting shadow bolts that stack damage on you and while you fight, he will throw blight crystals at you that cause poison gas clouds/puddles that you MUST avoid. I accomplished this by running around the full breadth of the platform, with Ice Barrier on. Basically just keeping tabs on my pet while running around, I hovered my mouse over his attack capabilities. Make sure you keep a 5 stack of health potions with you because you will need them.

It took me two blight blood trolls to defeat him. This is where I ended up dying many times. The first few times, before my blight blood troll was dead, I would run over to another one with full health and start casting the sceptre. THIS IS A WRONG MOVE because the blight blood troll you just had will become Drakuru's pet instead and will begin to kill you. I learned as a frost mage, that if you summon your water elemental, the blight blood troll you were controlling, quickly returns to his original position and his life would restore. I don't know if this is true for warlocks but I assume this is so. You can use this trick to your advantage as it buys you a few seconds, if you were to use the hammer-stun ability that the blight blood troll has, then quickly summon your pet, you have enough time to grab a new blight blood pet and go back to attacking Drakuru while he comes out of it at the last second. Your pet will automatically unsummon after you take over a new blight blood troll.

So resume killing Drakuru with your new pet following the same routine. He will stop attacking you when he is like 3% left of life. At this time he will turn green and Arthas will show up. DO NOT DISMISS YOUR BLIGHT BLOOD TROLL at this time because he will turn and attack you and if he kills you, you will be ported outside and have to do the fight again.

Drakuru will whine to Arthas, and suggest that he kill you but instead, Arthas kills Drakuru, by exploding him. It is quite gross but effective. Then he commends you for "betraying" Drakuru and hints at you having the possibility of being a "good servant for him" and he lets you live. After he leaves, you can now turn around, right click his skull and "Drakuru's last wish" which is something that teleports you outside of Voltarus.

Summon Stefan and you get your choice of neck pieces. Then that's it! You are done with this incredible quest chain. :).

Simply put, this should be a group quest.

Once you get this quest, don't bother trying to solo it. I tried with a well-geared 75 warrior and failed 4 times. And No, I don't suck.

Fortunately, you can do the quest as a party (I teamed up with a hunter). Everyone grabs a troll at the very beginning, and then you all whale on Drakuru at once.

FYI, you don't actually kill Drakuru; Arthus shows up and performs the coup de grace at the very end.

When you loot the body, you'll get two items: Drakuru's Skull and Drakuru's Last Wish. Use the Last Wish to teleport back to ground level and turn in the quest.

Someone else came up after I'd finished and ran to the skull just after I'd looted it myself. Glad I didn't linger or I might have lost it to him! Watch for other players when you're doing this!

3. enslave the chained monsters.
4. USE THE PETS POWERS ON DRAKURU OVERLORD as you WALK AROUND IN A CIRCLE (dodge the crystals)

5.your pet will die, enslave another.

I had to do this twice. Control the pet, have him keep attacking and keep in mind that one of those controls (the blood drop one) heals you. I kept running circles around the platform to stay out of the way of his crystals and healing myself when I needed to. Keep an eye on your pet's health because the first one will likely die and you'll need to get another.

After he died I was able to loot his head but there was no "Last Wish" to get me off the platform. I ended up jumping down and luckily I'm a Paladin so I cast Divine Shield right before I hit the ground.

Keep an eye out for other players as you do it. I just finished soloing it. Someone else came along and I thought he was going to loot the skull as he could have done. Instead he started the event all over again and I happened to be standing right on top of drakaru who killed me very quickly since I had no troll and was low on health.

I died a half a dozen times before I realised that you are not intended to fight Drakuru at all, just use your prts abilities to drag him down. Once I figured that, it was easy, just dodge the crystals. You will need to take a second pet before the fight is done.

Like with some of the other quests in this chain, I had to disable the bottom right action bar in order to get my pet bar to appear... so don't put anything important there just in case.

First time I didn't do so hot, 2nd time thought I just ran circles and kept mashing buttons when they came up on the troll. Had to use 2 trolls but my hp never went below 50%. just kept spamming my instant cast spells while running circles (arcane mage).

Like other posters said keep running circles. Very happy with the reward.

I just did Betrayal. Another person was there doing it too, which did not hurt since we had two trolls instead of one. The key was running around avoiding the plague crystals that Drakkuru was throwing. I hadn't even noticed them, just that I was getting murdered during the fight.

The directions posted up top are correct, however I found this quest to be extremely difficult to solo. The crystals he throws leave an AoE active on the platform and if you just randomly run circles around Darkuru you will have 75% of the platform area glowing in no time. I tried at least 4 times to do this and died every time when I went to control the second troll. Drak's shadow bolts aren't a big problem but if access to the remaining trolls is through the yellow glowy stuff, you'll die fast getting the second pet. I got fed up and got a healer friend to help me, but I'm thinking this can be done if you can dance around and leave one part of the platform clear of the AoE so you can get the second troll you will need.

terrible quest.
the stupid ghoul costume randomly falls off occasionally and twice in a row it fell off before I could even control one of the blood trolls which starts the encounter so you just die

DO NOT SUMMON A PET AFTER TAKING CONTROL OF THE TROLL. It will clear your MC on the troll and he'll just turn and kill you. This happened to me on my Shaman, because Feral Spirits count as pets. You can summon Fire/Earth Elemental, just not Feral Spirits/other pets that occupy the pet bar after MCing a troll.

As has been mentioned before early in the RP scene, you'll get a message that your disguise is failing.
But don't panic! This is apparently some sort of secret coded message really telling you now is the time to command your troll pet. 😜

Why blizzard - why, why, why?
The first instinct with that message will be to find a hiding spot to reapply your disguise and prep for the fight.
The disguise won't take - and you'll probably die. 👻

It makes you lose control of the troll.
Death will be imminent.

I suspect all classes with pets and similar abilities may have the same problem - possibly even those with "pet" trinkets.

So I thought this was going to be impossible to do when I saw how quickly my troll was dying but I realized that as soon as the first troll is about to die, like he's at 1% health, you can start mind controlling one of the other trolls. The control of the first one will break and you can kill it before resuming attacking Drakuru. I had to use all three trolls to burn him down, but I was able to get it done at least. Importantly, do not forget to loot Drakuru's skull before teleporting out! The quest will not complete and you'll have to start over. I got lucky and the skull was still there when I ported back up but I had to bubble hearth out to prevent fighting him again lol.

All right, I soloed this. I took a number of tries because you learn things with each time.

The thing that got me over the hump was to use the "E" key, which moves you sideways to the right. I hardly ever use it because it's hardly ever needed.

When you move sideways, always facing him, you can see the bombs coming in plenty of time to avoid them. This keeps you healthy! Then, when your pet is dying, you can grab a new one and take a few hits and survive and go back to fighting in a circle. It's so much easier when you get to your second pet.

This quest is not difficult, there is just a couple things that you have to manage and watch for at once. This is a lot more than the game has asked of someone who has only quested up to the point in the game.

First, you have to avoid standing in blight puddles. Second, you have to manage where the blight puddles land. You don't want to fill the entire platform up with blight. Just sidestep a little bit and stand next to an existing puddle and then when Drakuru throws another crystal, the new blight puddle will overlap with an existing puddle making the total area taken up by blight much less than if you just run around like a headless chicken. This isn't even necessary as long as you are using your trolls abilities on cooldown, since the fight will end long before the platform completely fills with blight even with the worst blight placement possible. If you are bad at sidestepping and haven't rebound A and D to sidestep left and right respectively, you're going to have a bad time. You'll take far more damage than your trolls blight infusion can heal you for.

This leads to the last mechanic: you have to manage your pet troll abilities and make sure they are being used as soon as they are available. When your troll dies, you should already be casting the channel on a new replacement troll, having downtime on your troll means you aren't able to use their abilities. The damage of the shadowbolt like things that Drakuru uses is low enough that you can easily take a few of them and then use the trolls blight infusion to heal the damage after you take possession of a new one. So the timing on the possession channel is far less important than just making sure you aren't needlessly soaking blight puddles. Another helpful fact is that Drakuru won't throw any blight puddles while you do not have a troll under your control.

All in all, its really easy, but it's asking you to watch for three mechanics at once, which is a lot more than the average wow player has ever been asked to do outside of raiding.

Know that if you are doing this quest solo and your blighted troll dies before the fight is over - like mine did - you can enslave another of the ones standing around the platform with the questitem provided and continue the fight :)

Mages:
- Do not summon a water elemental. Summoning a water elemental makes your troll attack you.
- Be careful looting his head. His head is right next to the portal to click back down. Terrible placement.
- You can reset the fight by jumping down one level, then you can illusion and safe fall back down.
- Use Ice Armor. The focus is survival and the extra armor helps for the troll transition.

The general strat is the same for everyone solo. But a way of dropping aggro, absorbing a lot of damage or perfect timing for the second troll is important.

1. Start casting the rod on a troll as soon as they pop (your illusion automatically starts to drop when event starts).
2. Spam attack button. He'll engage when illusion fades.
3. Spam 1 and 2 abilities. Focus ONLY on avoiding the puddles. Only use the heal ability if you take damage. Keep shields up.
4. When your troll is < 5%, start summoning another troll. Your current troll will attack you as soon as the other is MC'd. Cast Ice Block and let the new troll finish him off. Set new troll on boss and repeat 3.

He will die in 2 trolls as long as you're spamming abilities. Throw in some nukes on the second troll, but make sure you have mana for Mana Shield.

The event finishes when he's at 5%. The Lich King shows up, kills him and then you click his head on the ground.
