It's a zone drop, i'm going to repeat that for every idiot that goes by Quest Helper to help them complete this quest, it isn't necessarily wrong though, it can drop from every mob in the area, so if you stick at it for a few hours in one area, you could get hold of it, otherwise keep the quest, go and do others and it will drop eventually, I got it six hours after I picked up the quest.

PS: It was from a Venture co. member this time.

Yea i have carb quester and it told me to go to this 1 little stop but of course its not there so, just kill animals up and down the green strip on ur map(grass) and you will get it eventually, i got it after like 10 minutes or so.

Definitely a zone drop for sure. However in response to the "crab quester" post... That's where I got it too. Just picked it up off a cat when I was doing the kill 15 of this, kill 15 of that quest. Don't waste time trying to farm this off the Venture Co. guys.

i gettet it in like 5 min killing monsters for the quest and boom ther eit was at my 8 mob sowe somtimes it drop fast and somtimes it drops like ^&*!ing hell

I've had decent success finding the ring (in about 3 toons doing the same quest) finding it while doing Venture Co. Misadventure. Perhaps its just me though.

Got the ring on my 5th kill after obtaining the quest, though I guess I just got "lucky". Dropped off the Venture mobs doing the firsts quests from Nesingwary Camp

I killed 30 mobs for the first two kill quests: Nothing.

Killed 2 ruffians, it dropped.

Morale: Kill the Ruffians.

The highest drop rate is from venture co. members, and do not downrate me.Go look if you don't believe me and quit telling people to stop saying that it drops off venture co. mobs. It's between 3-4% off the venture co mobs in the area and the quest itself mentions them.

All other mobs have less than .4% to drop it

It is a zone drop, but the highest % by a fairly big margin is the venture co. mobs.

Any mob in the basin will drop the ring but if you want it fast kill the venture co members, mainly the Ruffians who have the highest drop %.

I got the drop on my second kill in the zone - it's all a matter of luck. Don't intentionally look for it if you don't find it however don't forget about it either. This quest rewards quite a bit of experience.

This ring just dropped off of the mob "Meatpie" in the Venture Mine area. That's what QuestHelper said and that's exactly where it dropped.

I just want to give one extra tip for those who use Quest Helper:

You migth end up pressing the 'm' key too much times since the quest helper will allways point you in the dirrection of the Ruffians, but you can get by this (at least if we're useing the same version of qh) by rigth clicking on the button of the "drop spot" on the map and setting its priority to "Lowest".

Also i would joiin the others before me: This can be found anywhere so unless you are done with all the other quests... Don't go farming just let the gods quide your hands.

EDIT: In case you go of to a skinning strip and you still have the quest: I would recommend the Rhinos. They have the greatest docummented drop rate and also there is an army of them roaming not far from the camp.

this is completely random people, it dropped off of the third mob I killed in the zone, another friend waited several hours for it to finally drop off a completely different type of mob (mine was a venture co. worker and his was a rhino that he randomly killed later on0

i got it off the about 20th thing that i killed entering the basin. just remember that it is a zone drop. if you have quest helper it will tell you that the ring drops from the humanoids in the area. i got it off the 3rd beast that i killed. just keep in mind to kill everything and not just the venture co. workers.

Don't go grinding for the ring. It wouldn't be a good idea, since you can do it with any quest in Sholazzar Basin and it doesn't have a chain quest after it.

I found mine while doing the rhino/deadsaber master quests

Yeah, I got it after killing 11 Venture Co. people. Easy peasy. Besides, if you DON'T get it from them (which you may not), you're going to be killing zillions of things in the zone anyways. Don't worry about it :p

If ye looks at the ring, ye will see that the biiggest chance of a drop is from the ven. co. guys.. 3 % compared to the others 0.1-0.0 %

I'm not telling anyone to grind for this at the Venture Co. Camp, but I just wanted to say I got it from from a Venture Co. Ruffian. That Ruffian was also my first kill in Sholozar.

Okay so it look like MASS confusion in the thread here. lets get us some facts.

1. the ring is a zone drop, it can drop of almost any thing in the zone from beast to the venture co. Critters likely do not drop it (you know the ones anyone can 1 shot not beast) but anything else likely can drop it.

2. Quest helper says Venture Co Ruffians this is due to the fact that one of the first quest you pick up has you killing venture co, thus you start their and that is the place most get the ring even though the drop rate for the ring could be the same most get it from Venture Co Ruffians because that is the bulk of you're first kills. Think of it like this if you have 100 bags with 90 white beads and 10 black beads and you ask 100 people to draw from the bags yet 60 of them draw from bag 7 and thus most black beads are obtained from bag 7 this does not mean bag 7 had the most black beads all bags had 90 white and 10 black.

3. If the ring does not drop while doing one of the outer first quest so not go crazy an toss you computer out the window an yell "BLIZZ HATE MEH WAHHHHHHH" you are going to go back for a follow up quest and there are to mastery that have you killing a total of 60 mobs and the ring will still have a chance to drop.

4. the ring has no follow up quest so as long as you are doing all the quest in the area an not only this one the reward is exactly the same as it is on you fist drop or your 100th drop that you will likely be doing for other quests.

5. Comment you THINK are super uber useful that says my dropped of (any mob in the zone) are worthless as it can drop quite literally from any mob in the zone.

Maybe he is most likely to have the drop even if it is a zone drop? :)
After all, he is in charge AND one of my addons tells me he has a 100% chanse to drop the ring.

I quested in Sholazar for 5 bars and got it from a gorloc whilst doing "The Mist Isn't Listening" its just a random drop, i was actually suprised when i got it

i spent 5 mins on this Quest. as a feral druid i decided it would be easyer to pull more than one mob and i found it on aproximatly the tenth Animal tried killing aload of Venture co. but none droped it.

All you have to do is multi quest, do 'venture co. misadventure' and because you have to kill 15 of them, it is extremely likely to drop on one of them.

the best way to do this quest is to take it and forget you have it. as you do the other quests in the area, you'll most likely find the ring.

Get the quest.
Let it sit in your quest log.
Ignore the drop rates.
It will turn up sometime off something in the zone.
You will probably have it before you finish your 60 game kills (another quest to accept and let sit).

When I found out that Miss Boulian was helping Nesingwary with his expedition, I signed up as a deckhand immediately. You see, I'd been meaning to marry her for months!

I had it all planned out. I was going to propose the very night of the shipwreck... but now the ring is gone. I've searched everywhere!

I know it might sound crazy, but I know the engagement ring is in the Basin. If some Venture Company didn't steal it, maybe a wild creature ate it. But it's here somewhere... I just know it!
