Necrolord Amarion is accompanied by an Elite which concerned me greatly when I found them. But fear not! The Elite doesn't actually directly attack you. He's the one who casts the curse on you that brings down the mobs of undead on your neck.

Pull Necrolord Amarion and kill him, then go in, grab the book and run out- all you need to do is keep going up stairs and you'll find yourself outside. ;) Once you're out, feel free to heal and kill any mobs on your tail- the curse will be lifted when you're outside.

I did this quest this morning, as a lvl 71 frost mage. Ran down, killed mobs in the way. Killed Amarion, took the quest and ran up. Didnt so much as get a scratch.

No need to bring a friend.

Easy quest.

For anyone else having trouble finding Necrolord Amarion, here's an easy guide:

The stairs bring you down into the middle of a corridor, you can go either left or right.

There are more stairs going down at either end of the corridor. They descend into two small rooms, connected in the middle with a short corridor.

Get into this short corridor. Look for more stairs going down in the middle of this short corridor...they lead directly to Necrolord Amarion.

Kill Necrolord Amarion, then pick up the book next to him.

Crpyt is at quest giver location 79,53. Down down into the bottom of the crypt, get the little red book (Flesh-bound tome) . Slay the first mobs that appear and Necrolord Amarion will appear, slay him also. This will complete 2 quests that you can turn into Cavalier Durkon.

I grabbed the book and ran back up the stairs. Elite (73) did not follow, but it sends 2 very weak mobs after you to the top.

Cavalier Durkon at Wintergarde Keep wants you to slay Necrolord Amarion.

Descrizione

Held within the cold stone walls of this crypt are the remains of the nobles and dignitaries that died in Northrend. At its very core now sits a necrolord who raises the corpses as servants of the Scourge.

You must make your way to the bottom of the Wintergarde Crypt and kill Necrolord Amarion. Only then will the assault from within cease!

And <name>, be on the lookout for any information that might be laying about inside the room where Amarion resides.
